Adam Savage Cosplays as Doctor Strange!
Ғылым және технология
Adam welcomes a new costume into his collection, made by the talented costumer Chad Evett. Chad--costume designer, consulting storyteller, and "Internationally Ignored Cosplayer"--was also the creator of Adam's gorgeous King George cosplay, and brought his Doctor Strange costume to the cave for a test fitting. Adam geeks out over the layered complexity of this creation, down to the unique way Chad has designed the cloak to fit perfectly. Stay tuned this coming year when Adam takes this costume to wear at a convention!

Because it's almost constantly in motion. :)
I'm smiling ear to ear just looking at these two men geek out together, this video has such lovely energy. Adam does such a good job at recognizing people and making them feel seen. I love entertainment that doesn't need to create enemies or false drama to create engaging narrative.

Wow .. That last line is ... Deep ..
I don’t know why but I was excited to see Adam getting excited. Like watching a child at Christmas unwrap a present. Just pure, infectious joy. Love it.
that costume is BEAUTIFUL!!! OMG... SO much painstaking detail!!! Chad Evett is a wizard in his own rite!
There is something special about seeing a lifetime maker reviewing a passionate maker's work. To have each challenging and high detail item recognized "to be seen" was hugely gratifying for all concerned. Getting to that level of detail I could see him bracing himself for favorite bits not being recognized. I think the recognition of the work done provided enough fuel for 5 more cloaks alone (despite the insane amount of work that entails). Witnessing this "geeking out" is a level of enthusiasm that makes my day.
Hug Chad and tell him he is a genius. That is so beautiful.
Gotta love when your natural facial hair works with your chosen cosplay.
To preface, all cosplay is an expression of love. But credit where credit is due, that cloak contains a literal lifetime's worth of Chad's passion in making it and *that* is what makes it magic. I'd love to see more of Chad on Tested, and it always makes me happy seeing how excited Adam gets with a fellow maker

We need video of Adam on the OneWheel going for coffee in the costume... Chad: you're a madman in the best possible way. The level of effort on this is unbelievable...
I've toyed with the idea of cosplaying Dr. Strange and mentally was vaguely aware there was some crazy detail but while watching this my jaw was dropped the whole time. That's insane and mad respect on that build.
Attaching the cloak to the pants for stability and weight distribution is fantastic! I'll have to remember that for any cosplay I do that has a similar need for a solution like that
Just the cape would be amazing for me but that whole thing is just perfect
Ok, 1. I LOVE the level of detail in this 2. I love that you noticed it all 3. I love how excited he was that you noticed it.
So glad to see Chad get the praise he deserves. Always an inspiration in the cosplay and costume community. His talent only over taken by his kindness and amazing attitude. Once won a singed copy of game of thrones and Chad was the judge . Love you brotha , you deserve all the praise and love In the world.
you know when people love what they do, they create a masterpiece
Seeing Adam geek out over the cosplay makes me so happy. Even cool celebs have their moments !
That is one of the most exquisite things I've ever seen. I'm totally in awe.
This guy is great, he should absolutely start his own KZread channel if he hasn’t already. His enthusiasm is awesome I love it
I've been following Chad's work on facebook for several years now. The man is super talented and a fantastic cosplayer in his own right, I'm super thrilled Adam is giving him some exposure here!
As an artist & model maker on a far off island, I find this Amazing. And the amount of work involved is indescribable. Exhausting doesn’t describe it. And being LUCKY enough to have people that appreciate the work, the creativity in design & problem solving and dedication to the craft is astronomical.
Chad seems like a beautiful human who also happens to be a costume genius. Bravo!
How the heck have I never realised that the cloak is asymmetrical, even in the comics!!?!?!
First time while watching Tested that I have felt genuinely jealous.
The guests Adams has and their crazy freaking talents, my god man. SO GOOD.
My OCD always wondered why the Cloak never sat symmetrically when Strange is wearing it. Thanks for explaning that!

I would love to see you walk in on James Sime over at Isotope Comics on Fell Street. I actually thought it was James' costume when I saw the thumbnail!
How fantastic! Love the craftsmanship and the energy and all the details!
The stitching in that costume is incredible!
That detail on how to attach the cloak is brilliant. I have the pulling issue all of the time with mine!
When cosplay becomes tailoring worthy of kings, that is divine work. Bravo.
45 hours on the cape chording alone, that is dedication.
I love seeing Adam build things and thinking “yeah I could probably do that” but this just has so much attention to detail and passion that I could never. What a beautiful piece of dedication.
The detail is amazing. Such talent and craftsmanship.
I’m very surprised Marvel hasn’t given Adam a MCU cameo. He looks great in the Strange costume

He could take over for Stan Lee doing the cameos. Or they could try to film a segment at an actual SD comicon. Adam is doing an Incognito when the fight sequence falls into the comicon and a bad guy mistakes Adam for the actual hero he is cosplaying. Bad guy looks around and sees he is surrounded by heroes converging on him having no idea he is a real bad guy and takes off to fight another day.

@@starhawke380 "Wow! Is that an Original Character? The uneven weathering looks amazing... Did you have to hit pause on that to make it to the Con?"//Baddie looks confused, then recognition and disgust creeps onto their face, "hero nerds". Sees an enthusiastic camera holder coming closer, asking if they can get a picture. Baddie sneers, kicks the camera kid out of their way, and flies off//"OMG, THOSE JETS WOR.... oh..., Uh... was that an actual baddie?"
Amazing level of detail. You love to see the dedication and the enthusiasm.
Adam Strange and Doctor Savage both sound like superhero names
Chad Evett is a master. Life goals, be even 1/4 as good.
The geeky charisma in this video is through the roof!
gosh, what i would give to be able to work on a project with either of these people. that would be the ultimate dream come true, the passion & enthusiasm they both have for their crafts is contagious, it’s just something truly magical
What an absolutely GLORIOUS work of art!!! I would LOVE to pour over the construction of this in person; the details are mesmerizing! The entire costume is stunning! I'm so pleased you shared this with us!

Wow, that's fascinating and very interesting! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
New demerit badge idea, super gluing your project to a table. Thankfully for me, it was small and easily replicated, so when I had to practically chisel the thing off, destroying it in the process, it wasn't a big loss. Having to resolder wires in a VERY small space because there's no way to take things apart. Yep, built some lights into a backpack, the battery pack was on the inside and one of the wires broke off, I had to solder the wires back in place at the bottom of the backpack (it has a hard shell). So, trying to use the soldering iron in the confined space, while trying to keep the backpack open, holding wires and solder, while also trying not to burn me or set other things on fire/melting them.
That intro music is a unique choice
so amazing to see both enjoying this costume on both a technical, visual and emotional level...
What a work of art!! Amazing
Dr. Savage supreme
I'm gonna start adding that attachment system to ALLLLL of my capes now lol
I love that you guys mentioned the yellow gloves! I love them too and have been waiting for them to come back
What an amazing costume!
The amount of detail in that just blew my mind! Lol
This was so beautiful! Just to see it and watch y'all geek out about it! The movie brought the cape to life as a full character, and seeing how much love and attention was put into this rendition - mwah! - chef's kiss!
Got to see the Dr Strange outfit in person at COSI recently. Really blew my mind how asymmetrical the cape really was. Not a single patch was the same.
The cloack is just amazing!! All the details in it looks insane kudos to chad
Holy shit. This costume...this craftsmanship.... It's so beautiful 😍
kaecilius : Mr ? Adam : prop master , kaecilius: Mr prop master ? Adam it’s Savage, Maybe , but who am I to judge.
The man is an artist. Adam you are a lucky steward of the costume
That guy's great! Have him on more often.
this is absolutely STUNNING i feel like the only thing that could match is if adam put in a light and a sensor for the eye so it opens to reveal the time stone if he does the hand thing close enough to it
I saw the Marvel costumes in Seattle and the details were wild to behold. I couldn’t get close enough to appreciate all that I wanted to. The Strange costume is my favorite
Adam looks like a wizard. His face really matches it.
This is truly impressive. Chad Evett, you deserve and should be proud of what you have accomplished. Your dedication and passion to this and all that you do is no less than envious. I wish my depression allowed me to be a creative maker, but alas, I am too damaged, so the next best thing I can do is to encourage people like you to keep doing what you do. Peace.
Omg omg omg his cloak solution is brilliant!!!!!
Mad love to Chad and their skill!
What a talent - my god. so many disciplines mastered in this piece.
What incredible detail, holy smokes. Absolutely priceless costume. This might even be better than the one in the films.

Wow! Chad is extremely talented and Adam wears it very very well! Great video
I love this b/c Adam already has nearly as many scars on his real hands as Stephen strange has on his fictional hands. 💚💚💚
Chad is awesome. More of him please! 😍
Look, if you're going to make a cape that clearly says "Sorcerer Supreme" when you see it, then you're going to make the most fantastical cape you can imagine. Simple as that.
I love the layering so much! Everything consists of so many slightly differently colored textures that blend really well. I don't even want a dr. Strange costume, I just want my own jacket in that style!
Chad did a spectacular job, you look like the sorcerer supreme himself! Hope to see a video of you walking a con floor as Dr. Strange himself. Merry Christmas Adam and the Tested crew.
When I saw the name "Savage" and the word "Doctor," my first thought was "Adam Cosplays Doc Savage." And now I want him to make that happen.
Dang, I would murder to be able to build stuff like that. This is awesome
This is insanely beautiful! After No Way Home, I've been dying to get my hands on some Doctor Strange props (I have a particular affinity for the sling ring) so this is just beautiful and perfectly timed. It's so nice to see Adam doing cosplays again. They are my fave thing on this channel! There is nothing I'd love more than to see you make a Hogwarts trunk! I'm not sure if you are a Harry Potter fan, but I know you are a fan of creating world accurate cases for cosplays. I'm not really a maker but my dream would be to have a trunk where I could store my uniform and trinkets!
Definitely one of the best characters in the MCU. This video is gonna be a great watch! Edit: I was right, it was a great watch. Boggles my mind how many hours this has taken to create. Masterpiece!

I like him but at the same time he's the worst character due to his irresponsible actions regarding the spell he casts for Peter. Plus he's even more arrogant than Tony.
@NarLyNaRdi
2 жыл бұрын
@@ZiddersRooFurry Peter was actually the one that changed the spells. Strange was just trying to help him out. I agree about his arrogance, but as his story arc progresses, he is becoming a lot more humble. Just like the way Tony changed, before his death. Tony went from selfish, to selfless. I have a feel Strange will do something big in MOM, to show the evolution of his selflessness.

Absolutely exquisite and gorgeous work. I'm sending this to every seamstress i know so they can actively hate you. Just beautiful work. Adam pulls off sorcerer well. Must be the facial hair
this is so great. i want to craft a cosplay like this so badly
Damn, so many different types of fabric. I mean, this is ridiculously impressive. It looks just like the real thing, if not better! Oh, and thanks for talking about the collar! I was so curious and by the end I was thinking you were _not_ going to talk about it and was getting so frustrated, but then YES! You did talk about how it's made. :D
wow. big props to chad
The cape should have a few wires sown in it, so that Adam/the cosplayer, can move them at random moments, perhaps using a thin servo hidden in the back of the neck.
Wish he went into more detail on the eye of agamoto. I think if it doeant light up could've collab with Adam. Imagine if the casing can open and close and it will switch on a backlight whenever it is opened and a green stone either out of green acrylic or glass sits on top of it that is also detachable. Or even better if it can be opened remoteley may a switch that is wired through the pants and he can click it with his toe or something when he do the gesture to ope it.
cloak vs cape, either way its stunning!
Chad is awesome.
What an absolute work of art! ♥
WOW Chad - genius at work - this is amazing :D
My ultimate dream cosplay.
