Man, it warms my heart seeing you doing drumming videos again. I never got the chance to see you live with Texas In July, but I remember when you teched for Matt and ABR and I had the chance to talk to you after a show in Oslo. Was around 2013/14 I think. You’re such a drumming legend for me, I still jam out to some of the old TIJ stuff sometimes. Absolutely phenomenal drummer, and from that one conversation - a great dude aswell. Keep it up Adam!

Short and straight to the point with a clear camera angle to demonstrate the technique, nothing more could be asked from such a great lesson like this! Thanks so much

I watch your play through’s and drum cams at least a couple times a week and all the time I’m just like “damn I wish he had videos showing some of his techniques slowed down a bit” as opposed to trying to piece it together from watching lol. I appreciate the hell out of these videos man, you’re arguably my favorite percussionist/drummer out there. Much love from PA!

Straight and to the point. Love seeing content from you man! Always have been an inspiration when it comes to practicing since you are consistent in your playing and keep me motivated with old drum cams and what not. Thanks for this Adam!

Thanks for your great video. I have hit a wall. I can do the push-pull relatively comfortably. But, when you get to the part, "In time, it will become more comfortable", you increase the speed dramatically. I cannot achieve that kind of speed. Do you have any pointers? It seems like I am a million miles from that kind of speed. Thanks!

Could get one of these practice pad type kits that are not loud. Ease into it and she may bite. Ha

I've been playing drums since 2009, and I attempt this technique from time to time, but it just feels so uncomfortable to me. I can kinda do slow doubles with my left hand, but my right hand it's like day 1 learning how to hit a drum all over again, just des not compute lol. The motions of my wrists, fingers and elbows are quite exaggerated, which makes me feel like I'm not doing it properly, but I guess it'll become more comfortable over time. Btw is this how you execute blasts? I feel like I've seen you do them with all fingers, no wrists.

It just take time of slowly building it up. I only use it for my double strokes. My singles are either all finger or moeller depending how hard I need to hit.

This is a super long shot but do you remember smoking a cigarette with a few punks about 11 years ago outside a venue called The Hub in Fayetteville Arkansas? We talked about how you were throwing up between takes when filming Hook, line and sinker.
