THIS ISNT REAL DYNO NUMBERS AT ALL ITS BELOW NORMAL VOLTAGE AND HE DIDNT EVEN DO .5 OHM WICH ITS RATED AT!!! HE SHOULDNT BE DROPPING THAT MUCH VOLTAHE AT ALL! I RUN FULL TILT AND DROP TO 14.7 VOLTS WITH 8,000 WATTS

I know these Taramps amps despise doing rated power, but I am interested in trying one on my dual 4 ohm HCCA 12" though for the mad efficiency. Currently running it off a HCCA3000.4H 4ch. I was thinking either a 8000w 2ohm or a 12000w 1ohm. I want that 8 ohm power, voltage is king! Shame above 8k models is only 1ohm. Might go a Stetsom ST-EX10500EQ-2 but being cheaper than Taramps, surely they're even worse...

The md12000 is rated down to .5 ohm tho ?

So you warm the amp up before testing? I'm curious if it makes a difference if an amp is warm, or if they usually perform the same "warm" or cold? Thanks.

Amps are typically room temp when put on the bench, and I do all the tests in one sitting. Most amps are at normal operating temperature after the first run.

I had one of these repaired and sold it, the person that bought it says when he connected it, it's going into protect mode but he sent me a video and he only had one ground on one side connected and one power on the other side not all four. Would this cause it to go to protect mode?

Mind truong 1k Hz load? Dont remember of you said it was @ 40hz or not most test that way which is cool just curious. I know the bass 12k isnt meant for 1khz all the same I wonder if itd blow it up or just cause a protect?

I would imagine it would work fine on 1kz, it's a full range amp. I have just converted my bank to CMAX and will be doing the big Taramps models again, I'll try to include a few full range dynos also.

It won't send to protect, all it would do would be elevate the watts.

Do you know if they discontinued the md12 1ohm models? I bought some half ohm version by accident and it’s been over a year and I still haven’t seen any 1 ohm versions for sale.

1 ohm models were replaced by the half ohm model maybe 2 years ago

Got a wolfram o series 8k that you can test. I'd love to see it on the dyno, and I'm sure a lot of others would also. I'll pay to ship back to me if you pay to ship it to you for dyno purposes only. I'll hold not responsible for anything that could happen during dyno. What do you say?

In real world use, very generally speaking, dynamic is the most like music. However, amps that seem to have exceptionally high dynamic scores on the dyno (2 or 3x certified) typically won't show those numbers on music when clamped in competition.

@@d.j.theman7581 usually carelessness. Number one being the lack of necessary electrical, impedance being entirely too low, and excessive abuse of the amplifier such as heavy, and excessive clipping. I see a lot of short circuiting also, simply due to people mis-installing or messing with the speaker wires or whatnot while the amplifier is on. If a customer takes care of their equipment they will not have any issues at all whatsoever.

This one is pushing out more power than the taramps 15k?

I run my bass 15k @ 16v it’ll walk all over the 12k

Next amp that you should test is the new 3500rms watt cea Rockville dbcomp5 with a built in volt meter! Its $350 new and a Korean board as well! No one has tested this amp😀

@Chuck Holmes your probably right Rockville might be junk but this amp I hear is a good cheap China board that you can find on the China 3000 watts SAE Sundown buget amp they make. But personally I would buy a Sundown because there components or probably put together better.

@Chuck Holmes I like whatever brand I can afford. I once had a 15 punch stage 3 600 rms watt Fosgate way back in the day it was good I sold it for a 15 m5 Memphis and now my dad has it now in his Buick Roadmaster. My current setup is 2 18 Soundqubed on 2 Hifonics amps strapped.

I was thinking about putting one of these on my 2. 12’ 6,000 watt hippos. What do u think

Before I even read the answer I said yup. I have a 400 mechman charging a 80ah xspower lithium bank, that's running my SounDigital Exo-X 12k amp and trust me my amp Digs when the bass drops. Meaning seems like that's a perfect match. It's Pushing 4 X15's V2's.

The reason why I ask that because I’m m running at 2 ohm with two 12 inch vfx and I don’t want to over power them to the point I will blow them so I can’t decide to get the taramp 8k md or the 12 k md

I know they make power but I've heard that they do blow easily and the build quality just isn't that great. Idk 🤷‍♂️ I think I'll spend more and get a little bit higher overall quality. Just my opinion.

These are great amps with a good protection circuit. They are actually less likely to fail than many other amps.

@Facekicker yeah I'm still thinking, do I get a taramps 12k or just get another salt 8k or sell my 8k and get two salt 6ks. But if I can find a crescendo encore 12k that's not a bad plan at all.

My Stetsom 7k does 6,004W @ 9.9V regularly, and has since 2012 when I bought it. (I don't have a strong enough batt bank, obviously, but, it doesn't care.) Wired .7 rising to a perfect 1 Ohm during burps.

I think your power supply is dropping to fast. Your 15k and 12k had similar numbers.

I heard that because the md 12k is rated at 12.6 volts and the Bass 15k is rated at 14.4 volts. That the md 12k is stronger!👍

My opinion is the Korean amps boards are built better than this amp. Next amp I might try is a 6,000watt crescendo bassclef at .5 ohms. I've heard at .5 there clear and put out over 8000rms watt clear watts. I only got around 3600rms watts of Korean amp power at the time. I got 2 older Hifonics 2000 cea Brutus amps back when Hifonics knew how to build an amp and its so clear 15hz even shakes my front doors on my no wall 2 18 in a long suburban!!!

Well I get the point taramps is good for the price. 2 question how much is a 12 taramp and dose it come in the bass line? I'm looking for a powerful bass amp not a full channel.

@@RyanBassForLife They don't make a Bass 12k. Only the MD12000 for $690 on Amazon. (Just use the built in electronic crossover if you don't want it full range) The closest Taramps in the Bass line is the Bass 15K for $1100... Not sure if it's worth $410 more than the MD12000. My gut says no.

@@RyanBassForLife In fact the MD12000 made 11177 watts where the Bass 15K only made 10458 on the same dyno. Save yourself $410 and get 719 more watts! MD12000 for the win!
