    You are wrong. It is a matter of women protesting the nowadays every few years changing beauty standards. It is high time that women do that, but a shame that they still connect it to being sexually attractive. Women have mutilated themselves and have been mutilated all over the world ever since. How about we tie your head to deform it, tie your feet to deform it, insert huge plates into your lips, cut off your penis so you can feel nothing or sew it to your body so it can not be used, have you wear layers of rings around your neck until it is stretched like a giraffe neck, bleach your skin with chemicals, and so on and on and on, as it was done to the body of women just to satisfy some nonsensical idea anyone had of how beauty should look like. The whole thing is not about being obese.

    Too bad the body positivity movement is taken over them. They're so delusional that they project bs like "fat is genetic" or that it can't be changed... Like tf. Being fat is a choice UNLESS you have super rare conditions which all these landwhales don't have btw. Not only that, they demoralize other fat people that are struggling to fix their life, both physically and mentally and criminalize fit people for being fit... It offends them... Obviously they're jealous and VERY lazy. (KZread literally tries to silence me, smh...)

    As an ex-fat person i really hate it when the fat-acceptance movement deals with being fat as a normal thing, when I was fat the difficulties I've experienced doing ordinary tasks around the house were literally killing me, it was so depressing when seeing other people doing it normally and enjoying things i couldn't even try, sometimes I even thought about ending my life, but fortunately I've came across the right people who've guided me and encouraged me to do the right thing, now i'm happy with I've accomplished.

    I'm a fat woman. I fall between not particularly caring about the way I look and sometimes breaking into hysteric crying fits and being unable to look in the mirror. It's okay not to like yourself. I'm currently dieting rn and it's difficult. You get into habits, and breaking them is very, VERY hard. But I remind myself eating a burger is momentary happiness and not eating that burger leads to happiness in the long term. 4 week update: Down 7 pounds! Thanks to everyone for being so supportive!! Only 43 more to go! 2.5 month update: Down 11 total! Progress has slowed because I can't walk to work anymore from snow. Still trying to get excercize at home tho! 39 more to go! 4 month update: Down 14 total, it's not too big of a difference but hey as long as there's a difference :/ just trying to remind myself to stay motivated. 36 more to go! 7 month update: If you're wondering why I haven't updated, my grandma died. She was my primary caretaker most my life. I fell into a deep depression and got back into binging. I've lost the weight I gained and now i've lost it and some more. All your replies have been really good and motivating for me. Thank you. 34 more to go. ??? Update: I have no idea how long it has been since I last updated. More than a year. Maybe two? But I lost all the weight. I don't feel any better about myself. I still hate myself. I still can't look in the mirror. I still don't get bitches. I'm still not happy. Going to therapy. I'll update when I get better.

    @Karam Abodalu You're still young, and your body still needs food to grow. Depending on how heavy you are, might I suggest just eating less of what you're currently eating now? Like, 30-50% less. Even junk food. If you're used to it, gradually decrease consumption until you're off of it completely. Suddenly making drastic changes to your diet might result in disordered eating and that is unhealthy too. Just focus on making better choices everyday. i.e., choosing to eat fruits for dessert instead of processed crap, choosing to take stairs instead of elevator. Little changes, done consistently, will have big results. Good luck!

    I absolutely hate the fat acceptance people who tell you to give up weight loss. Its so upsetting and wreaks of jealousy because they don’t want to lose weight themselves. Another huge issue is that they say they’re “oppressed”. How??? You control what you eat and what you do. You have full control over your actions. Not society. You. You’re not “oppressed” because you failed to learn when to put the damn fork down. It’s harsh but it’s reality. Ty for coming to my TedTalk.

    Another thing that upsets me about the fat acceptance folks is when someone actually criticizes them out of concern, they tell them off by saying that it's "their life and their body". Like i get being proud of your body but have we as a generation fallen into such narcissistic sociopathy that caring about others bodies out of concern for their health is seen as "bad"? This shit frustrates me to no end.

    I TOTALLY AGREE! I am currently on a diet with my family, and my friends think it’s incredibly bad for me, but i’ve felt better than ever. I’ve always been a very chubby person and i was over weight when i was a kid (i couldn’t do the monkey bars or run for extended periods of time). my friends tell me to love me for who i am, and i’m getting the hints that they think i’m doing this unwillingly. i do love myself, however i want to love myself even more!! I want to be fit and healthy, especially for the future. my parents and i want a better future for our family and the generations to come I’ve been on it since the week before Halloween, 2022 (currently January 1st, 2023). I the most i lost was 15 pounds, but gained back a couple from Thanksgiving. Slowly moving back to losing those 15 pounds then hopefully 10 more pounds after that (baby steps, going through a plateau). lost most of the bloat in my stomach and extra fats in my arms…. i’ve even gain some extra muscles from it! i feel amazing!! 😊

I remember raising my hand and calmly informing / asking her that currently more people take the big nap due to obesity than due to smoking, so if that meant I could have smoking acceptance and smoke inside. She told me to wait outside the classroom. This was college btw, I was 21 and mindblown, so I spent my 30 min timeout researching my options to report a malpracticing teacher.. I didn't actually get to file anything, but I think the message resonated with her that she was pushing her luck, cause we never had another off-schedule preach again thankfully.

    That is an extremely simplified world view. People are not machines. Bodies do in fact function individually and it is a well known fact that there are very slim people who have to eat a lot just to keep their weight and there are obese people who eat normal calories and all it does is make them keep their weight instead of losing weight. Science is atm just that far to understand that the bacteria in our gut are connected to the weight of people. Which does not mean that most times the calories and how much people move influences the weight, but it is not as simple as that. Other factors play in as well.

It's just a fact that people die from obesity, you even said your father did too, despite his all happy-go-lucky personality ... as if that was a protection of some kind? Of course it isn't. The people in this video he is talking about are legitimate not trying to change at all, so sure, might be a bit cruel to talk about them in that way, but it's often a wake up call to these people when they are that delusional.

    The thing with tiktok body positivity is that it's just... bad. The original point of body positivity was that people don't get bullied or harrassed for the way they look which includes weight. That doesn't mean advocating for people to become fat, or calling fat people who want to lose weight fatphobic (yes it happens). Fatphobia does actually exist but not here. One example is the healthcare industry, where obese people very often are denied proper care just because they're fat even if they might have an actual condition that isn't fixed by losing weight, that then goes undiagnosed and potentially gets worse. That's actual fatphobia. Losing weight is not.

    @@Sahtoovi It might actually make some proper diagnosis harder because there's just so many health problems related to (but not limited to) obesity that it's easy to think that said obesity is the cause of their conditions. Maybe checking family history may help making a more accurate diagnosis, but sometimes the family is also fat and that might make things even harder because they can just assume that their genetics make them more likely to develop certain issues.

  • @Sahtoovi

    @Sahtoovi

    Жыл бұрын

    @@cantputashrugasausernameso5105 That's true to some extent, but it wasn't really my point. For example an obese patient might seek treatment for back pain but be denied proper care and instead just get told to lose weight, when actually they have spinal arthritis. In extreme cases it can result in paralysis if not treated. Obesity does increase the risk of spinal arthritis, but losing weight is not a solution by itself. Proper treatment should always come first, weight loss comes after recovery. An example I could use is a heart attack. Obesity significantly increases the risk of a heart attack, but if an obese patient comes into the hospital having suffered a heart attack, you don't just tell them to lose weight and send them home. You stabilize them and treat them, and weight loss only comes after recovery.
