I think the nice thing about active cleansers can be if you feel your skin has been sensitized to the point it cannot endure actives for long periods of time like overnight, a five-minute cleanser sit could get you closer to something that your skin can tolerate. However, because there’s often water in the mix, the skin can absorb more of the cleanser into the skin as the water evaporation pulls it into the pores. This is why we don’t put retinol or other serious actives on wet skin. Damp skin is usually ok so if you wash your face out of the shower it’s not an issue, the only real risk is in-shower cleansing with an extended sitting period.

I eat salicylic acid,sulfur
@pillowtalkderm if possible you might update the subtitles. It’s comical to native speakers to read it as “I eat”, but some folks might get confused and eat things they shouldn’t

I respect your expertise but my derm had me switch to BHA cleanser instead of a lotion for how irritated it made my skin. With the cleanser, my acne has subsided significantly, and I think it might work sometimes
❤️Who else is loving The Cetaphil healthy renew facial serum????????? Works like a charm
@pillowtalkderm please give us some advice for puffy and aged eye lids

Plain water get something like CeraVe healing ointment if your barrier is disrupted really bad or a gentle cleanser like vani cream and the Vani cream moisturizer
I love your videos 😊❤
I Need an eye Makeup Tutorial 😭
I love my salicylic acid cleanser
I put SA cleanser (Aveeno soy one) on my dry skin, gently rub it in until it disappears, brush my teeth, and then wash my face.
Your skin is nice and glowy. What are You useing? Beautiful skin❤❤❤
You look 20 and amazing skin. And more important is I love your valuable educated advise
I literally just saw a video of yours about using glycolic acid cleansers
Love active cleansers and its my preferred method of chemical exfoliation. I use a 2.5-5% glyvolic acid cleanser every other night (5-10 minutes) and i finally get the glow. AHA toners and serums wrecked my skin. Plus two steps in one saves $$$ and time!
I use my active cleanser, and let it sit on my face while I brush my teeth.
would it be okay to use a salicylic acid cleanser and after washing it off a retinol cream?
What about face masks? Any you recommend and at which stage of my routine?
Great advice, going to start doing this! Can you recommend a gentle cleanser to use in between these actives ?
I lowkey use two actives on my body acne and Iv never seen bad results come of it but I also haven’t gotten ride of my acne on my back and chest completely either
Okay, so I had read about salicylic acid helping the small bumps on your face or body when in the cleanser you use - like shower gel. As it cleanses the pores/chemically exfoliates and gets your skin to become smoother. Could you clarify if it actually helps that?
Love your videos but wish you would have more product suggestions.(ie brands)
I eat Salix Willow Alba Bark Extract because it much more gentle than Salicylic Acid...!!!
My face gets too dry after showering. What cleanser should I use?
I think you mean e.g. rather than i.e. But then the subtitles wouldn't have said "I eat sulphur", which made my day much better
Hi! Can I use salicylic acid cleanser every night if I'm not yet on retinol? :)

Yes just swap for a non exfoliating cleanser the night you want to use your retinoid/retinol and don't forget a hydrating moisturizer.
I use all off those cleansers throughout the week but the mvp is benzoyl peroxide. Ive seen a big improvement since adding it in my rotation.
What is exactly an active cleanser Pls explain I learn a lot with u thank you ❤
I had the cerave blemish control cleanser which had 2% Bha which worked fine on first days until it started irritating my skin so much ,later on i realised i over exfoliated my skin
Do you think I can use a shampoo with salicylic acid (3%) once-twice a week as a face cleanser? It helps very much with my oily scalp, but my face is in better place, still need some extra oomph :) I'm so glad I've started watching your channel 😭 So many info!
I’m pretty positive I have acne from an over production of yeast, online it says to use tea tree oil or head and shoulders on my skin ( the acne is on my back, shoulders, & chest) what should I use? Or do I need medication ?

What’s a good sulfur cleanser for sensitive skin?
Which salicylic acid cleanser can you recommend?
How long does the active need to sit on your skin to work? So it's better to use salicylic acid serum than cleanser? Sometimes I just like the feeling of the oil cleansers that are lux...otherwise, usually get them in a set as a freebie!

What active cleanser doyou recommend for erasing/fading brown spots on the face? Many thanks! 💛

46 and never exfoliate. I have sensitive skin, is a lactic acid the best for beginners?
I have acne-prone but also sensitive skin. My derm has prescribed me topicals (dapsone and finacea) plus I use a gentle retinol. Should I still use active cleansers and how often so I don’t over irritate?
Can you talk about congested bumpy skin?
Can I leave cerave acne control cleanser with 2% salicylic acid on my face before rinsing? How many minutes?
What's your point on face massage? Is it effective or not?
What are skincare products that we should absolutely not mix, other than active cleaners?
I'm crying at "i eat" translation😂😂😂

Do actives and extracts really benefit the skin in wash off products….. I mean take for instance a face wash, it’s hardly there on the face for few seconds to one minute max , do the actives & extracts act so fast ? Same with Shampoos , what’s the idea behind adding extracts, oils and actives in them?
I'm old 76 and all my life my skin has been oily what should I use to wash my face
Is there a sulfur product that doesn't smell like sulfur or smells good? Pls advise.
Can I combine glycolic acid and tranexamic acid in my night routine?
I let 1 min to my cleanser live it on. That recommandation ?
What do you think about the trend of people using OG Head and shoulders as a face wash?
Wait.. so I shouldn't be using salicylic acid face wash in the morning and peroxide benzol face wash at night???????????
Uhm is the cerave gel mousant cleanser active and we also need a vid on what to buy from cerave
I stopped doing this and tossed out all of the ones I had in my bathroom. My skin has never looked better. 👩🏽 ✨
So basically flawless skin = eating actives salicylic acid, glycolic...

I have a benzagel wash (benzoyl peroxide 5%, canadian brand) that says to rinse it off after only 20 seconds. I'm confused by those instructions, it seems way too short.
but what if the product says do not leave on more than 30 seconds?
Different actives each night but consistency is key? Confused miss
Game changer - 100%
Do we have to eat our skincares now?

You can buy a SA solution, they are usually 2%, and use a small brush (like one for eyeliner) to put the solution on just the black head/s. If your skin is very sensitive, you can do that after you've moisturized. I hope this helps 🙏🏻
Now I get why her skin so pretty. She eats a lot of actives 😂😂😂
start with cleanser on, wash it last. It's so simple. 😀
No no no. When I was dumb and 16 I bought a Jan Marini Glycolic cleanser and had the ‘smart’ idea of leaving it on my face while I brushed my teeth. Hellloooo hyperpigmentation. It burnt my chin in a way that has never recovered to this day. Worst skin mistake I ever made - my chin is still discolored and in 35.

We never know how our skin is going to react to certain products. With my active cleansers, I rub them on and let it sit like a mask. It does wonders! It does suck so bad when your skin has a bad reaction to a specific product or ingredient! It takes soooo long for it to fully go away!
Text translation needs cleanser on its own.
How long do you leave it on? Some ppl said over night, some ppl said five minuets and some said one 🤷🏻♀️

I suffered a lot with benzoyl peroxide 10% 😢 , my skin was destroyed As a cleanser or cream Never again

Hyaluronic Acid is not an "acid" so your cleanser does not have any actives.
When ever i buy a cleanser with an active i massage it in and let it sit for a bit.
What are those little hard white bunps that appear on your face. I thought they were calcium deposits. They're the size of a pin head but can get bigger. How can I get rid of them? Is there a cleanser that might help?
