Acrylic Pour Painting: Double Swipe Landscape Technique "Red Mountain"

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a 24" x 24" abstract landscape using my double swipe landscape technique. The downward swipe partially blends the colors and starts the cell action, then I reestablish the sky and land using horizontal swipes. I have done several videos on this technique, please check out my playlist for Landscape Techniques to see other examples!
Happy Medium colors used in this painting:
Sky: Paynes Gray, Moody Blue, Southwest Turquoise, Pure White.
Mountain: Pansy Purple, Red Line
Foreground: New Gold, Cocoa Crisp, Aztec Orange, White, Coal Black SW Turquoise
Go to www.happymedium.fun to order the paint I used in this video. Happy Medium is my own line of Paint Ready To Pour, custom to my specifications, it's ready to go with all the ingredients for a successful pour. Spend your artistic time being creative instead of mixing, measuring, or guesswork!

Love it! You always make it look so easy, gracefully and playful. I feel I really struggle with how much paint one pours on a canvas. I am always afraid of over working and removing the possibility for cells to continue developing and remain. Also while paint is still wet can you add and move paint around too much?

  • @carengoodrich

Matthew Keezer the biggest problem with moving the paint around too much is that the colors get too blended and you end up with muddy colors. If you have silicone in your paint, you should not lose cells that are developing. However, when I see a pleasing area where I love the cells and color patterns, I try to leave it alone and work on other areas. Eventually you will get a feel for how much paint to pour on the canvas, but I still sometimes pour too much or not enough. It is fixable, though. If you pour too much, you can swipe the excess over the side. If you don’t pour enough, you can pour more at any time. Hope this helps!

Hello. I love your landscape double swipes. Do you have any recommendations on how to choose a color as the swipe color? Do you mix the paint any differently for the swipe color? Many thanks for your inspiration!

Caroline Moretto white or black is best! It’s the same mixture, except no silicone.

@@carengoodrich Ok...thx. I wasnt sure bc you managed to get a lot of gold solid areas without cells.I wish you would do another large one like you did with your daughter a couple of years ago! (swipe) I'm not that into the silicon anymore....but i always love your landscapes!
