@@Joeteck I just have to say to bad for Acronis, the Acronis 2014 it was more clear about this, because it gives us the options rightway, and this version the option is hidden, honestly I do not like this version.

Hi Joeteck, I have an error in my HP hard disk and wanted to use acronis as you showed in the video. However my question is after I back up the local disk what do I do if I have to reset my Laptop? As How can I get my files on the new hard drive? Thank you.

Thanks for the info but, how do you name your back up? I back up to my D: drive in a folder named Acronis but, I can't custom name it I have to overwrite an older back up that I may need someday.... what is the deal?

Hello, Thanks for the video. I followed carefully but the backup does not start, it remains in error. I have a new 7.3TB external drive. Do you have a solution for me? If I make the "Survival kit" first in my hard drive, can I make backups later with this hard drive?

Is backing up the same as creating an exact copy? So for example my boot drive if I backed it up can I use that to boot up in case my C drive fails? What is the difference between system image and a , backup?

No, its creating an image where you can restore from. If you create a rescue disk (bootable recovery) you can restore from that drive to a new drive or existing if it just got infected. Works amazing. I had a bad windows update which crashed my PC. I did a restore and I was back in business in 20 minutes. If not I would of have to reinstall everything all over again. And being a KZreadr, I have many applications for content creation. I would have been screwed for a few days.

Hi I am using this same version of acronis True Image 2021 but I never had to retrieved anything up to this time. I boughta 13 months ago an HP OMEN 45L Gaming GT2 000x, for video editing (no gaming) that doesn't boot anymore with error "3F0'" (can't find a bootable disk"). I tested all the hardware in the UEFI that shows no hardware problems .I created a c: drive backup in acronis 2021 a few weeks ago (win 11) of the C:drive of my HP , before it could not find the boot drive anymore . Can my older win 10 PRO PC , creates a "bootable usb drive" , to retrieve my saved acronis C: drive (win 11) backup ? , T he partition backup C: backup was created with the HP (win 11), Thanks a lot for your help.

What is the smallest Thumb drive you can use for an os bootable usb drive. Does it save any of the backup on the C: OS root drive ? drive is large enough 1tb for just OS backup will fit on one bootale drive ?? How does storage in bootup backup creation get handled if say an 32GB stick it used vs 1TB stick?

Ok.. I would recommend using a drive larger enough to store your backup, so it's in one location. If you use the created Acronic boot drive as your image drive as well, it will create many 4Gig files, as fat32 has this limitation, however if you use a separate drive that's formatted NTFS it will be one large file. Either way works. I prefer one drive Boot/restore, but that's just me. If you ever wanted to chat, talk about it. Call me at my joetecktips hot line. Number listed in the about section.

I was using the Western Digital (WD) software/apps to backup, called WD Backup, then WD Backup got phased out and they moved to Acronis True Image for Western Digital. I have a WD internal drive that I want to backup to an old Seagate external backup drive; I formatted the Seagate, so all the backup software and files that were on it are now gone. Last week I made a backup in Acronis and it failed backing up before it could complete, as I see 1 TB is available on the destination drive, whereas only 14GB is available on the source drive; also, with WD Backup software, the destination drive was a clone of the source; with Acronis, all I have on the destination drive is one Acronis file (!?!?!) I just tried to use the Clone Disk tool in Acronis and my destination drive is greyed out, says the logical size does not match and needs to be the same for clone to work. So here I am, asking for help. I want to backup my drive and I can't seem to get it work :( I want my backups to be a clone, not a single file on a drive. Thanks!

@@Joeteck No, actually it's a very modern computer with a lot of modern software installed running Windows 11 Professional, Sony Vegas editing, all Adobe software etc on a SSD, Acronis 2013 is installed, when I insert the boot CD the Acronis 2013 recovers the whole partition in 7-8 minutes, Acronis 2021 which I installed and tried today took about 18 minutes. As the old saying goes, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I had to reinstall windows because of this program! Acronis does something to your files..it puts flags on them or something and when you try to manipulate the data it greatly slows down your computer. This is just what I experienced. I spent the whole afternoon about 6 hours it is 10 pm now trying to figure stuff out. Some of my folders needed permission from system to open... when I would try to restore a backup it would just hang there with the hd light on. This was a good program when it was simple and didn't have all this security crap running. When I brought up the task manager there were 12 acronis related processes running. I took a screenshot of it. That is just TOO MUCH!! I'm going to see if I can find another program. I just did a new windows install and all those probs are gone. It used to be such a good program..I mean microsoft does enough of that crap, security crap I mean... I don't need it from acronis too..

  • @Joeteck

It actually doesn't. You got infected and you tried to do a backup. Sorry it doesn't do it like that. No backup program will do it. Try backing up your system BEFORE you're infected. Works flawlessly
