It does my heart so, so good to see these guys -- idols of my youth -- still making great music, still looking well, still sounding great. Keep on, keepin' on you guys....

Jorma and John Cassidy played my senior year in high school at a break. Peace and love.
& now nearly ten years later Jorma has been streaming live shows every week from the Fur Peace Ranch throughout the Covid pandemic. Still looking & sounding great.
Revisiting after a long, long time. Good for the soul in these crazy times we are living through.
Its great to see that after all these years not only is the music great, but Jack's eyebrows still play along with the band
This is what legends are made of...

One of my favorite of songs Jorma and Jack brought to the Aiplane, beautifully rendered here.
Artsy and unadorned.......never was that beautiful old song so well rendered. Jorma's voice is great! Thanks for sharing.
Just saw them last night (march 31 2018). Timeless. Still true to their calling. How blessed they are, how blessed we are.

Jon Stanton omg saw them on NYE - what a treat
What a gift, they are way past the point where they are doing this to pay the bills. They love us, as much as we love them. Go see them every single time you can. They never disappoint.
Those hippie geezers still got it! Great long rendition!
The addition of Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin is really the cherry on top of Hot Tuna.

Would have loved to hear Papa John on this too. He'd be about 102 today. Hard to believe he's been gone damn near 30 years.

Agreed and jorma can even pull it all of on his own. Hot tuna was never not great. I loved their early 70s electric stuff too but my favourite hot tuna performances lie in the mid 2000s with barry
I wish I could feel the way Jack looks when he's playin' :) Nothing tops acoustic Hot Tuna!!
This shit brings tears to my eyes............ been there seen acoustic & electric many times... but this is top shelf

You know Jorma and Jack have been playing together so long that they seem to be just intermelded in their fantastic music! Whoever they play with just themselves or adding people as somebody said previously they are a national treasure. I remember the first airplane album the first dead album and of course the first country Joe and the fish album! I never looked at music the same after here in Jack Cassidy playing bass...
I never get tired of listening to Tuna....

Great to still have GREAT music AND musicians !!
I have been lucky to have been around long enough to witness many incarnations of Hot Tuna and they just keep getting better and better-acoustic and electric. The addition of Barry over the last ten years or so adds another four dimensional window to Tuna's sound and in case one didn't notice, this rendition of Good Shepherd displays the craft of their musicianship rather well. Hot Tuna is a national treasure. Why they aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is unbelievable.
The best of the San Francisco enlightened sound! Love this.
Jorma and Jack. What could b better? Saw the Airplane 50 yrs ago at the Avalon in SF. A most TRANSCENDENT night. Talked 2 Grace 12 yrs ago in FLA; same irreverent iconoclast. RIP Spencer Dryden and Paul Kantner.

Jack's website has nice tributes to Paul and Marty - And early Airplane female singer, Signe Anderson - who died the EXACT SAME DAY as Paul (weird, right?) Signe was replaced by Grace, as I've heard it, right after a double-bill concert of Grace, then with The Great Society, and The Jefferson Airplane (with Signe at the time) somewhere in 1966 (I don't remember the exact date, sorry!) Wikipedia says that Signe's last concert with the band was in October of '66, and a quick check showed that the only Airplane album she was on is "Jefferson Airplane Takes Off" (Other than maybe some guest spots later on - I'm not sure what's out there in "unofficial" recordings!) Paul and Signe's can be found about halfway down this page: www.jackcasady.com/page/4/ and Marty's (written by Jorma) is still on the main page, a bit more than halfway down. www.jackcasady.com/ Jorma also did a nice writeup on Paul & Signe here: jormakaukonen.com/cracksinthefinish/?m=201601 And this is Marty's here, top of the page (with neat photos!): jormakaukonen.com/cracksinthefinish/?m=201809

What a great performance just as tasty as can be especially with Barry's fantastic solo.Barry is one of my all time favorite mando players such great tone and note separation with perfectly fitting improv to the melody.I hope these guys stay together for a long time,it really cant get any better!
This has ALLWAYS bee my favorite Airplane song...
Beautiful rendition......I remember Airplane doing this YEARS ago!
simply excellent
i could not love this band any more. Saw them in tucson a couple months ago. Best show ever!
Outstanding solo Jorma last night at Cap Theatre, Clearwater, FL. Beautiful rendition.
semplicemente immensi! I never stopped dreaming with Jorma and Jack
Love that Epiphone classic bass ... what a sound. These guys were young men when I was a teen ... they had just started ... later Jefferson Airplane.
My favorite hymn.
Jorma looks so pleased with himself, and rightly so! A visit to Fur Peace is at the top of my bucket list!
Absolutely magnificent.
MAGNIFIQUE TOUT SIMPLEMENT ! TROIS GRANDS MUSICIENS QUI TIENNENT UNE BONNE PLACE DANS MA CULTURE MUSICALE ! JE NE SUIS PAS MUSICIEN MAIS J'ECOUTE BEAUCOUP DE MUSIQUE et POUR MOI HOT TUNA C'EST DU GRAND ART ! RESPECT and ADMIRATION !
WOW!! That mandolin player...
I enjoyed this,,
Incredible.......fine wine, indeed. :)
Great music from two of the best...no matter what they do..its all good baby!!
absolutely amazing, saw Jorma and Jack up in Stowe a few weeks back and it was unreal, great show!
Thanks for sharing this with us. Just beautiful.
What a range of emotional expression has been packed into this-older-than-dirt gospel song! It was my favorite track from the Volunteers album; but now age, wisdom and comfort are flowing out of the tracks. Couldn't be better!!!
In this new era of music I find myself returning to you guys for my inspiration in playing and writing. You guys will never know what your music has meant to me...in my life!!!
I just love this rendition...so amazing and tender
OMG! So good!
If you want to get to heaven Over on the other shore Stay out of the way of the blood-stained bandit Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep One for Paul One for Silas One for to make my heart rejoice Can't you hear my lambs are callin' Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep If you want (if you want) to get to heaven Over on (over on) the other shore Stay out of the way of the long-tongue liar Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep One for Paul One for Silas One for to make my heart rejoice Can't you hear my lambs are callin' Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep If you want to get to heaven (if you want to get to heaven) Over on the other shore (over on the other shore) Stay out of the way of the gun shot devil Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep One for Paul One for Silas One for to make my heart rejoice Can't you hear my lambs are callin' Oh good shepherd Feed my sheep
This was always one of my favorite Airplane songs, a real departure from the usual rock n roll fare.
Hope they play this tonight. Its one of my favorites!
Very nice performance of one of my favorite Jefferson Airplane songs; one which I might have thought an acoustic version would fall short of the mark for lack of that signature electric riff. Yet, you guys pulled it off, and with a cool jam - quite a flourish!
I return here again and again to find something I've been missing.
most explosive music ever experienced in the states. Fortunate enough to be a witness and follower of musical icons that exemplify talent on matched.. One of a kind that recent generations need to understand about building music from the past . Kingston, N.Y. 1988 Uncle Wileys, Thanks
I,m listening/watching Hot Tuna ,filmed 2011 ! Thankyou for still playing together ,and giving this gift ,,loved you through 70,s still do ,,,way down Tasmania !!!
Thanks, Jorma. I'm 66 in '23. You and Jack have been.... kind of a guiding star or something since I was 15. Wish I could visit Fur Peace Ranch, but I've got these critters to feed. Glad for the internet. Peace and love, brother.
I saw Hot Tuna freshman year of college, fall 1972. Loudest concert I ever attended! It's so wonderful to see them now. Jorma and Jack have aged so gracefully. Great mando solo! Thanks for posting!
Jorma! I was born 15 years after you - 12/23/55, and I grew up down the street from the Goodman brothers, Frank, Billy & Jon.... I left for school in D.C. about the same time Billy found Kimock. I use to hit the dive bars in Levittown every chance I got to hear those guys.... they played covers mostly back then, but they had a good sound. I would always chew on Frank’s ear between sets about you and Jack and a new sound - the Rev. Gary Davis... but Frank wasn’t really interested. Oh well. I bought a classical guitar for $25 and taught myself a lot of your acoustic songs from "The Orleans House" (sp?), and then life happened and I stopped playing. I met your cook @ The Himalayan Institute some years back and played some of your/The Rev’s stuff for him. He sent me one of your CD’s after he went back to your place in Ohio. His name escapes me now... He was a nice kid. Anywho, I see Billy and Steve finally found you. You had a big influence on my life. Thanks for bringing a whole generation your sound. Maybe we’ll meet some day. Best regards, Jonathan

I love that song and the whole Volunteers record
Soothing and relaxing....... Peace ✌️
Once one's been cool enough to make beauty comfortable enough to come right on in without even knocking, then you've shown us all at least one way over to the other shore. Man's fate.. you don't need us.
fantastic ...Volunteers :)
I had the joy of seeing Hot Tuna years ago in Cleveland Hts. I creep up close to the stage to see better. What an amazing concert. One of the best I have ever been to. Thanks for all of your music. Still hitting it!
No offering has given me more over the last year than what Jorma and the folks at Fur Peace have. Thank you!

The best way to overcome the difficulties in music is to realize how easy it is. Peace
Wow. Absolutely beautiful. The lyrics may come from angels but the instrumental is heaven itself. Thanks to all who bring this timeless recording to us.
I love this song
Fueling up at Fur Peace until we meet again, enjoy the ride...
KZread, the song from the advert directly after this 11 minuter jamming session, was Barry White, My everything. Instantly. I love Barry White but, you need to sort that shit out.
