ACLR Rehab: Hamstring Tantrums

I like to include these hamstring exercises for both my ACLR and hamstring strain patients during the mid-late stages of their rehab to improve their hamstring recruitment and capacity to assist their running.
I suppose you'd call them swissball kicks, but I like to call them "Tantrums" 🤣🤣.
FYI: swissball kicks (Tantrums), particularly the prone version, has been shown to have one of the highest levels of hamstring recruitment when compared against other common hamstring rehab exercises! Even more than Nordics (Tsaklis et al, 2015).
The only thing to consider is that the Tantrum has the highest level of activity when the muscle is SHORTENING, which is not particularly useful as most hamstring strains occur when the hamstring unit is LENGTHENING.
So as a stand-alone exercise, the Tantrum can't be sold as the panacea for injury prevention.
However when added to a comprehensive program, it can be a very powerful exercise to help improve hamstring muscle recruitment and performance.
Have you included Tantrums to your rehab plans? If so, please share your experiences with us below ⬇️
