    Train with me on my app doing my actual weekly program | 7-Day Free Trial | $8.99/mo 📲 www.myliftfitness.com/training-app - IMPORTANT HAMSTRING INFO➡️ Here’s how you can train them intelligently… 1️⃣ Typically, I’ll train them 2 days per week. Day 1 is a lying leg curl + a stiff leg deadlift variation. Day 2 is often only a seated curl (this is because it’s on my more quad focused leg day) 2️⃣ Everything is usually for 2-4 sets in the 6-12 rep range with at least 3 minutes of rest between each set 3️⃣ If I’m doing both a leg curl and a SLDL variation in the same workout, I’ll usually start with the leg curl. In which case, it’ll be a lying leg curl (Lying leg curls will train the hamstrings in their short position & SLDL’s will train them in their lengthened position. This leaves seated leg curls to be done on my 2nd day as the stand-alone hamstring exercise.) Some very basic info here for you. If you’re curious about how it can be implemented in a program as effectively as possible that progresses/evolves over the course of time, consider joining me in my app. I offer my own personal weekly program there. I program it all, and deliver it to you. I take care of all of the planning - all you do is show up, and put in the work. Click the link above to learn more!

    Davis!! I have an important question. My gym does not have seated ham curl machine, only a lying one. Will lying ham curls + SLDLs/RDLs be enough to grow all of my 4 hammies?? Also although machine in my gym doesnt have a seated variation, I can adjust it a bit to stretch my hams a tiny bit more than usual, but I dont think it can compare to a seated one even when highly adjusted.

  • @DavisDiley

    @DavisDiley

    @@eriops4959 absolutely it will. I typically will do a lying hamstring curl and an SLDL on my hamstring focused day. It’ll work like a charm for you. I seated leg curl would be nice to have. But honestly I just put it to you this way. If you train as hard as you can doing lying leg curls and SLDL’s, you’ll get your hamstrings as developed as you could ever hope for. It all just takes years of hard work. You’ll come across a seated leg curl machine eventually I’d imagine at some point in your life. Just work with what you have (which is all you really need) and stay consistent. Hope this helps you ✊🏼

    @@DavisDiley thanks a lot! Also I can kind of adjust my lying ham machine a bit by putting something where my pelvis rests. This way my hips are higher up but feet stay on same spot. I tested it today and it worked nice, my hips were bent at ~90 degree angle, so I think I can kind of do "seated" ham curls. For the record, are seated ham curls enough to hit all ham muscles?

    I have a question I saw the straight leg deadlifts on another video and wanted to try them out. While doing them I don’t feel any strain in my hamstrings but I feel stiffness and a lot of strain n my back. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to prevent of fix this? I working out at home cause I’m only 15 and can’t drive yet so I don’t have really any other ways to train hamstring’s except of curls but that’s all so looking for tips and on the straight leg deadlift ft so I have at least two hammy exercises

    For the Romanian Deadlift/Stiff Legged Deadlift, you DO NOT need to bend so far forward like that your back is almost parallel to the floor and the bar/dumbbells are almost touching the floor like Davis is doing in the video - unless you're also trying to work your lower back. If done correctly, you only need to lower the bar/dumbbells just below your knees. One tip I would like to offer is to keep your upper arms pinched to your armpits, like your squeezing a pencil there, and don't move them throughout the exercise. As you lower the weight, hinge at the hip and push your butt back as if you're trying to close a car door. When you can no longer push your butt back, that's when you should stop bending forward. Your entire back and arms stay in the same position, nothing moves other than your hips and butt.
