Acid Archives Diaries - Rick Saucedo "Heaven Was Blue" (1978)

Музыка

My second post in the Acid Archives Diaries thread. This time I'm rambling on about one of my favourites from the book, Rick Saucedo "Heaven Was Blue", private press from 1978. Hope you dig!

Hello. This is Rick Saucedo, the writer. A fan purchased the CD directly from me, and let me know about your video.Thank you for showcasing this album. It was not well received by Elvis fans, however, it was very appreciated by the psychedelic fans. I will watch your videos as they are available.

Hi Rick! Very cool that you found this video, and very cool that someone who saw this video bought your cd. I'm a big fan of "Heaven Was Blue" and your LP is a jewel in my collection. Hope I got all the facts right, it's only based on my research online. Anyway, thanks for the great music! Peace and love /Jonas

Thanks Jonas. I have not heard this album other than a digital copy in 2010. Now I am going to listen to your first in this series. - Chris

This album sounds right up my alley. Based on the needle drops I will pick up the Guerssen reissue. Originals are way too expensive but I will stream the original on youtube. Great entry and I subscribed.

Many thanks Richie! Guerssen is a quality label so I guess that's the best choice. And you'll get some tasty bonus tracks as well. Again, thanks for watching and subscribing :)

great pick Jonas! Sweet original. I do love this one as well despite the 2 more "rockin" tracks. I have a reissue, will have to play it again. It really does remind me of that Michael Angelo lp if you know that one. Sugary, lo-fi psychedelia. And also the Kath 1 which is uber rare. Great stuff!

Cheers Dom! Michael Angelo and Kath are big wants, but Kath LP is impossible. I have the single "As I Look" that they released in 1977 under the name Badge, great one! Thanks for watching!

I love these Acid Archives videos! Man I’m ashamed to say I don’t own the book as I just haven’t been able to spring the high price it demands Haha! But ai love Acid Rock & Psychedelia and have many albums that are featured in the book. I’m a new subscriber as I was referred here by Vinyl Richie! Groovy record I’ve seen that album at record shows but always left it behind but I am now going to give it another look & listen! Peace ✨✌️👽✨

Hej Jonas, tusen tack! Great video, interesting story! Leaving my first comment ever. Used to live in Uppsala for a bit in 2004 and did record hunting in Sthlm, great place for it! There was store in Söder with a huge and messy backroom full of goodies. And Micke´s place is a gem. My rarerest progg LPs were actually given as a gift by a Swedish professor (lovely guy), Fläsket Brinner and Archimedes Badkar. And found one goodie here in Estonia in a charity shop which brings in stuff from Sweden, Häxprocess by Kjell Höglund. You probably know it? B-side is good! Anyhoo keep up the good work! Andreas

Hi Andreas! I'm honoured to get your first comment :) Yes Stockholm is a quite good place to buy records. I live on Söder myself and have a bunch of nice stores close by. Kjell Höglund is great! Cool to find that in Estonia. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@vinylstockholm Thanks for the reply! Just downloaded "Heaven is Blue" from the Internet Archive. Will listen to it in the right setting, maybe some sunny afternoon on holiday by a lake or a river. Thanks for introducing me to the album, had no heard of it, seems like just the thing I like as both a big psych and Beatles fan :)

Hi Hasse! Yes Rick Saucedo is fantastic! IMHO, Gandalf the Grey is also fantastic because it was a one-man project where he recorded everything by himself in his apartment on a 2-track tape machine! And some of the tracks are fantastic as well. But you have to dig the lofi recordings. Musically a bit uneven I must admit, but the cover makes up for that :)
