I think the sony is better overall but I think the panda sounded better when visor was shut Personal opinion

I’d agree with you. I think the Sony has the potential to be the better mic but I need to mess around with positioning and more muffing. Purple panda pretty good out of the box.

hello I also have a Sony ECM-PC60 microphone on my Ace Pro and I'm trying to use it with the I can't get any sound, when I put it in the microphone adapter the color bar and recording icon appear, but the color bar does not move. Is there any setting or parameter that should be set?

I just plugged it in to the mic adapter and it worked. Just checking it is a 2 ring (TRS) on the end?

@@SolidLayer could be a dodgy mic, but if you see the metre could be the camera, have you tried another mic in it?

I don't think it's a pinmic issue as it works fine on my GoPro8.

The sony is more bright, the panda is more muted the sena is tinny and lacking detail.

I will persevere with the Sony, I think changing the positing will help. But out of the box no faff for me the Purple Panda is best overall capturing the voice and ambiance.

What’s the red cable near the X3 for?
