The strange thing about all of this is how this feeling in general is still present today. Most popular songs, to me at least, sound a lot like this band, except for the most part they just sound like a cheap knock-off that will never ever achieve the greatness of the real thing, which is Ace of Base. I think this song could also just come out today and I don't think anyone would complain saying, oh no I can't listen to this song it sounds so old.

born in early 90s, truly got some luck to enjoy good music at that time, now I wish if I could breathe the air in the 80s as well...

I never recognized how minimalistic this is. Its literally just a beat and vocals along with a single chord stab and some basic synth bass. Well executed!

K.I.S.S. principle was applied for sure... or in full that would be "Keep It Simple Stupid". The more complex you make a song, the more that can go wrong with it or better said the more reasons a listener might be turned off by the song. Thus also less likely to become a hit song.

I noted same thing. Very minimalist and to the point. I never cared for Ace of Base as kid even when I loved all the faster real nineties artists, but this is masterpiece in simplicity and confidence, Malin the blonde looks super sexy in this.

In terms of minimalism, one comically beautiful yet musically valid part is when the keyboardist on the left side walks over and hits the floor drum only 3 times - a triplet (1e&...) I don't know why - I guess it's just funny to go to the trouble of setting up a floor tom for just that "couldn't get away with less" part... know what I mean? Ha! Heheheh...😃

It’s soo rare that artists can sound just like they do when they recorded the song when they sing it live Ace Of Base can do that. One of if not the best band EVER! Period!

Thank you for your service. I first remember this song in 94 in the field in Fort Polk I was infantry. I was 33 and just joined a year prior. I didn't see the video until last year. I later joined the Navy and was a Seabee so I have a lot of respect for the Marines. I finished up my career by joining the Air Force and relaxing before retiring.

Me too!! Lol. Ace of Base the sign and brooks and Dunn hard workin man were my first 2 CD’s! Got em for my birthday....they came government plastic wrapped and took 30 minutes to open.

I bought this cassette when it came out!! Great song to bump in your ride!!

Ace of base was something else. I think they still are.
