Academy 1/72 F-89J "Scorpion" - (mostly) FULL BUILD

A (mostly) complete build of my 1/72 Academy 1/72 F-89J Scorpion. This was a very nice kit overall, hampered though it is with Academy's typical decals.
I don't have much to say in this description. Generally good kit, decent fit, typical Academy model kit decals. I apparently didn't record most of the painting which is unfortunate and why this is only a (mostly) full build.
I wanted to publish this the week I broke 5000 subscribers but end of term stuff started ramping up and I left my microphone at my parent's house and it just didn't work out until now- however, that means I can wish you all a Merry Christmas here!

I've never been much of a jet fan but as I've been looking at these earlier ones there is such interesting variety.

Looks awesome. I love the F-89- I've actually got all the kits for each version and am hoping to dig into them this summer. Great work and great vid!
Great job on the 🦂 Scorpion. The brownish pre-shade worked well with the grey top color. Rockets look wicked. Too bad no aircrew figures. Bill

I haven't. I only really have watched a few gundam anime and no one seems to make kits of the one I especially liked. I did do a blind box gundam head a number of years ago. It should still be on my channel.
Academy kits are soo bad

I like a few of the kits and they are generally reasonably priced but decals are always awful and accuracy is generally questionable. They seem to do a lot worse with jets than with WWII era stuff- Their 72nd scale P47 and P40 are some of my favorite kits ever, but their A10 is pretty rough fit wise. Here's hoping the F22 and F35 are better, I haven't taken them out of the box yet.
