Well, that rocked! Bon Scott was SOOOO good…
The kinetic energy in this song is off the charts. It floats like a butterfly but stings like a bee. No bloat. Just a lean, mean rockin' machine.
I love the Bon Scott era AC/DC. I was listening to all of this as it got released. Riff Raff and Shot Down in Flames are a couple of my favorites.

One of my favorite all time bands. When you saw Bonn jump off the stage he broke his ankle. Thats why the video shifted. Glad to hear you guys are going to Power Trip. It will be a blast.
One of a kind! If a space alien showed up tomorrow and asked me to define ROCK Music with a single band I would say AC /DC.
The end solo, Angus: what's that, you want rock n roll? I'll give you rock n roll.
I’m a Bon Scott purist. Brian Johnson never cut it for me. #fun fact- when AC⚡️DC first hit the gig circuit, their posters marketed them as punk rock. 🙂🤟🇦🇺

All the same. Bon Scott had a lot of soul in his voice and a lot of charisma. When Back in Black came out in 1980, I tried, but I can't stand Brian Johnson's shrill voice. Sorry, but Bon Scott is irreplaceable. I only listen to AC/DC records from the Bon Scott era.

I'm sorry Brian 'didn't cut it for you', you must have missed out on so much great AC/DC music over the years. 40 years worth! Poor you.....you twit.
Saw these guys a few times.....with both singers......both were great but I have to say that the gig in Colchester ,England 1976 was without a doubt the finest gig ever....so full of energy ,and FUN.....amazing.....long time ago now,but my god they were good.👍I was 15 at the time and had never heard or seen anything like them before....Real, full on rock n roll.
We were lucky in our youth to see the development of AC/DC before our eyes. Bon Scott had been with 'Town Criers' and 'The Valentines' before Malcolm & Angus recruited him as lead vocal....and what a choice! I saw them many times on 'Countdown', a Melbourne-based music show hosted by Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, a leading producer and icon of Australian Music which started in 1974. We were lucky to see them play at our school social in 1975 for the premium price of $300....and they were only just another rock and roll band amongst many other Australian bands at the time.....and here we are some 50 years later and still listening to them. Thank you Nick and Lex.

Sounds a lot like Don Kirschner's Rock Concert series and around the same time. Before that there was a show called 'In Concert'. I saw Alice Cooper doing his thing and became an instant fan of his band and wanted more rock.
Such a great high energy rock band! Angus looks like a kid in this video. He's so young! I don't know how he can play guitar while bobbing his head the whole time!
I saw AC/DC twice in the seventies with Bon, and I have also been to Fremantle to see his statue.
I’m pretty sure Bon Scott broke his leg with that jump towards the end that’s why when you see him again he is in blue t-shirt and other members had changed as well as they switched to another version. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺

Their best album - no question. The guitar playing is off the charts and the energy is palpable. It's no wonder that three of the tracks on this album STILL make up the core of AC/DC's live show. Hail!!!

Epic performance from a band that really did the hard yards to make it big. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your reaction
I just love the Bon era of AC/DC Angus at the end just wailing away shows what a talent he really is.
Bon Scott broke his ankle when he jumped from the podium so the rest of the clip was performed in the studio when his ankle healed. 🇦🇺
Bon. The original and the best. 🇦🇺
Fun reaction. Yes, there is a difference between hearing a song and listening to a song.

Saw them twice in the early 80s shortly after Brian Johnson signed on. They were unbelievably charismatic.
Early AC/DC is so good. I thought they experimented in Punk music but were heavy metal to the core.

The boys hated Punk. No experiments with that
Bon Scott (Born in Scotland like Angus and Malcolm) replaced Dave Evans as lead singer in 1974. After 6 years of slugging it out in Aussie bars and barns and then in the seedy clubs of England, they finally hit it big in the US with HIGHWAY TO HELL prompting US markets to release many of their albums in 1979 for mass market. Then Bon died that winter. Englishman Brian Johnson stepped in and kept them going very well for 4 more decades.

Their so young here. I saw them with lead vocalist Brian Johnson. Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning. There are both good lead men. Angus you see how young. One of the best guitar players, no doubt
I so do miss Bon Scott...all my fav AC/DC songs are with Bon...my very fav is Ride On !!
Just good fun rock and roll and nobody did it better.
Angus Young - Wikipedia Angus McKinnon Young (born 31 March 1955) is an Australian musician, best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and the only remaining founding member of the hard rock band AC/DC
Nick Speaking of Bon Scott, other members of AC/DC were considering to disband after his death in 1980. But Bon Scott's family informed members that Bon wanted them to continue on as band. When auditioning for new vocalist, they went thru a few singers. Brian Johnson, who is waiting for his turn to audition. AC/DC were concerned why Johnson hasn't showed up for his turn. It turned out that Brian was playing pool with band's Roadies. He auditioned and gotten the job. Then Back In Black, AC/DC returned with a bullet with Brian Johnson. As both of you know, Malcolm died, his and Angus' nephew, Stevie Young (their older brother, George's son) stepped in Malcolm's place. AC/DC are playing Power Trip Festival in October along Ozzy returning, Iron Maiden, GnR, and Tool. Possible Biggest Festival in North America in Indio, California.
Bon Scott had such devilish smile.
“Live Wire, Riff Raff, and What’s Next to the Moon”, are great songs sung by Bon Scott. My favorite though is “Down Payment Blues”.
Bon Scot sprained his ankle when he jumped off the pulpet but they kept playing and kept filming lol
In mean rock in roll!!! Ha ha!! Haven’t heard this in a long while!!
Fun ..... That's AC DC 😊
I can actually only think of two bands in the history of rock ‘n’ roll that are actually rock ‘n’ roll. AC/DC and The Who. Everyone else are amazing genres of one thing or another but these two bands were pure rock ‘n’ roll.
Apparently Angus Amp caught fire when they were making this clip
What a killer track. Check out the Foo Fighters doing this live at the BBC studios a few years ago, brilliant!
Yes Bon Scott Broke his ankle when he Jumped in the video!!!
In the states we had to wait quite a while for any AC/DC albums, the first one I got a hold of was "Dirty Deads Done Dirt Cheap" it was the first time I heard Bon Scott.
These guys were my first rock concert in 1975 when I was 14 at Festival Hall in Melbourne. Got to see them with Bon about 7 times in one year. He was fricking brilliant, they all were. Just so tight even then as a band. My 14yr old brain was blown by this music! Bon will always be it for me, have never wanted to see them without him, I was spoilt by him as a frontman!! Wish I could go back and see them again in those days, so much fun!!
You should do one of their early songs, a cover of a blues classic: "Baby Please Don't Go"
This video shows Bon Scott breaking his ankle when he jumps down. Which is why the video looks totally different in the second part. As we say here in Texas; Y'all be safe
I read that Bon Scott broke his ankle on that jump from the alter.💚🎸
So glad that you are finally here!!!!! Welcome to the ride!! You will love that Festival!!
AC/DC FOREVER
Awesome song. $600 ticket prices for that 3 day show. I might go🤣
Bon IS AC/DC for many of us fans! By the way he was so in the moment that he broke his ankle on that huge jump in the vid! Now that's a frontman dedicated to his art!!!
The first 2 albums I bought were Highway to Hell and Van Halen's debut. Then Back in Black was the third. My dad was upset with me but it was my money I saved from my allowance. I could only play them when he was at work.

Friday nights were rock nights at Newcastle Upon Tyne Mayfair and ACDC played many times back in the 70s. Always a great night, the energy they brought to the stage was amazing to see back then. My claim to fame is I once lost my baseball boot in the crowd and someone chucked it on stage, Bon Scott picked it up looked at it and laughed then chucked it back. Happy days.
Saw them live years ago. Talk about great live rock!!!!!
Yeah, the Bon years... just freeking iconic ACDC! Btw... y'all should check out the video VH1 Behind The Music on ACDC. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you will love ACDC even more.
Don't worry Nick. We weren't so easily outraged in those years. Referring to your remark about the behavior of Bon Scott. That made it all a lot easier to live together. Just live and let live.......
Power Rock! Saw the For Those About to Rock Tour in Montreal! Probably the loudest concert I ever attended!
He's giggling and smiling... But ask yourself, would you buy a used car off that guy??? Great song.
Hi Guys, Ohh those early albums with Bon Scott !!!! They are brilliant ! I remember when Brian Johnson took over, I had a single by a group called Geordie called "All Because of You" [ I still have it ] and Brian was the lead singer. I recognized his voice immediately. Love AC/DC and live ... You are in for a treat. I have the dvd - "Live at Donnington" which is amazing to watch. I've seen a lot of live footage of different concerts, where Angus Young dresses as a schoolboy with school cap, blazer and shorts, with a school satchel on his back. His head banging is throughout any live concert. How he doesn't get headaches or suffer from exhaustion I'll never know. If you get the chance, one of my favourite tracks live is "High Voltage" ...Just watch Angus during his epic guitar solo. Even a Duracell battery would say ... Enough..I give up !! I remember watching on tv a live concert ...I wish I knew which one it was ... It had the best ever live version of "For Those About To Rock" where Angus left the stage and was carried all around the audience playing his guitar solo. If anyone knows ...please tell me if it's on u.t or even a dvd....Nick, did you & Lex get my package in December with 2 cds ? ... Ozzy Osbournes latest "Patient Number 9" & Steely Dan Live NorthEast Corridor ? I know you got the 70's Compilation cds & the back rest for Lex, but the other cds I addressed to your home direct from England, so I don't know if they arrived ok. ... Love this reaction. Seen this music video many times and it's always a joy to watch again. Thankyou ! Byeee Jim X

Bon was a cheeky bugger lol Absolute legend!
Lead guitarist Angus Young was only 23/24 when this was filmed during their Highway To Hell tour in 1979 in Paris. Sadly, singer Bon Scott died soon after. Guys, if you want to be totally entertained and have your mind blown by a radically alternative version of a rock song, react to The Two Cellos and their version Ac/DC's Thunderstruck. As well as the excellent 1978 live album If You Want Blood You've Got It!
So, a short history - the band was formed by Malcolm (guitar) and Angus Young (lead guitar) AC/DC was, and still is, primarily a rock/boogie band. Malcolm & Angus' older brother, George was in a 1960's band called The Easybeats, who enjoyed some international success as well as being huge in Australia. As the Easybeats became successful, George would bring home guitars for his younger brothers who would sit in their room, practicing for countless hours. Angus quickly demonstrated a natural flair. In Jeff Apter's book on Angus "High Voltage" he tells how the older boys would play Angus a song on a record or radio & say "play that." Angus (aged about 12) would practice for 15-20 minutes & then come back & play the piece, note perfect. George's bandmate from The Easybeats, another immigrant to Australia (they all met while their families were living in an immigration accommodation centre in Sydney) was Harry Vanda. George & Harry would carry on after The Easybeats to write for & produce some of Australia & the world's biggest music acts. Vanda & Young are two of the most significant figures in Australian music history. They helped bands like Rose Tattoo become massive, and later bands like Guns & Roses would cover Rose Tattoo songs and cite them as huge influences in their formative times. Other acts to enjoy the Vanda & Young magic include The Angels (Angel City in the USA) Divinyls, dozens of others. Grace Jones covered their song "Walking In The Rain."
Btw the last solo on this song you are hearing Angus Amp catching Fire you are hearing the sound of a Marshall Amp Burning Up the Producers motioned Angus to kkep going that what yer listening to Angus Burning a Marshall Stack UP In Real Time = EPIC
Sounds like a show for the ages.

You see how young they were here. Guitarist Angus Young is now 68 years old. Singer, Brian Johnson who replaced the late Bon Scott is 75 years old.
In Germany, they used the term Hard n Heavy as an umbrella term for music with distorted guitars. The bands that got me into hard rock were Survivor, Europe, Def Leppard, and Rush (Hold Your Fire/Presto). The first three hardnheavy albums were Fireworks by Bonfire, Tell No Tales by TNT, and Triumph and Agony by Warlock. Warlock was my first metal album.
