Document all the abuse, inform HR/boss and contact a lawyer/get a better job. HR is not your friend.

Nailed it. As an apprentice I dealt with lots of shit. From fire stopping for thr first 2 years. Tools thrown at me. Yelled at blasted. I hated working at that company. Imposter syndrome. All that. Anxiety. I go to work now Im foreman, and when an apprentice stresses me out. I dont want to make them feel like shit. Even if I get atitude or pushback. That thin line is well you can go home. Or I request not to work with them. But , I will not call someone dumb or yell at them. Its just not worth it. Thats an asshole. I used to go home when I was apprentice vibrating with anger and vent to my wife. She would help me. I was aware of why i was pissed. She says , since I started working at the new company 2 years ago , its night and day difference. My challenge is my job. Not the people I work with. I gotta say though, I got great at working under that toxic environment tho. I struggled with anxiety for years. And one day I had foreman over my back telling me shitty things and I couldnt do it and was gonna f up.and in my head to myself . I said no Im not, watch me, and fuck you" i dont have words for how powerful that moment was Sorry bout my rant. Thanks for your video. Also, if anyone reads this.. there are better companies out there. .

Alex, I always appreciate you giving your experience on the topic. I also agree with you that there is a silver lining to being in toxic environments which is, you learn to work under that pressure/stress/toxicity. But...inevitably you have to leave because it will literally change the way your brain looks at things. I'm really happy to hear you're in a better place, and your rants are always welcome.

This is so timely. You released this one day before I had to speak to my boss regarding a coworker with serious issues. Also my last full week working with the guy. Beginning next week I’ll be on my own truck running small calls for the company after 8months of hard work. I’m just happy everything paid off. Thanks for this kenny! This really helped. Appreciate it 🔥🤍

Richard, I’m really happy to hear that you talked to your boss about things. It’s very courageous of you, and that’s the right attitude. And on top of all this you’ll be on your own!!!! REALLY PROUD of you brother! Keep it up, and keep me posted on your progress! 🤟✌️

I worked for some real POS guys before being put down, gossiped about had guys take credit for my work when I was an apprentice, I even stopped my lead from stealing at the SH a few times, I get worked up when I think about all the bs I dealt with coming up in the trade. I always had a great attitude, worked my butt off and always wanted to learn and grow. These could be some of the realities to getting into a trade with no connections. I almost left the trade because of this, but I got back into it and keep my head high knowing I passed those clowns.

That was excellent. Exactly what I’m going through at the company I’m at. Unfortunately no other shop in my area takes apprentices only pre-apprentices or journeyman.

Funny how this vid is the first thing that popped up on a day where I have to work with my verbally abusive coworker. Not only has he yelled or talked down to me and others. But he’s yelled at people in the office and is very racist as well. One little mistake and he uses the opportunity to say something mean. So thank you for making this vid. It’s an important topic that I don’t hear about much. I really don’t want new plumbers to be driven away from the trade because of it.

I'm currently in a plumbing pre-apprenticeship program once i'm in my apprenticeship Do I have to go to trade school?

In Ontario once you register as an apprentice (with a registered training agreement) the ministry will send you to trade school incrementally. So all you have to do is find a company to work with, and register you.
