Just unscrew the spool release screw then it will be okay take your time. It has a spring that has to set back in the whole .

Dude you totally save me, i was trying to get som lubricant inside the housing when it all just popped 😅 But thanks to you i can go fishing tomorrow 😁👌 if you ever in Denmark hit me up and i will buy you a beer 🍻

Hiya, if you undo the hex nut for the lever you can remove the plastic housing that the spring goes into and place that on your reel, then place the outer cover over it and line up the hole to put the hex nut back in, saves lots of fiddling around 😉👍

Yep. My thoughts exactly. Very helpful video for working on my 7000I. Cheaper model, but inner workings are pretty much the same. Glad I saw your post about removing the line release lever, getting the spring, and posts in place, putting the body back on, then putting the release lever back on. Worked great. 👍

I just recently purchased a new C-7000. While out fishing, I stumbled bringing in a fish and fell on my rod and reel. I tried reeling and it was damaged. When I got home, I found out that besides dinging my reel cover, I bent the spool shaft. And of course they only sell the complete spool assembly for $65!! And plastic at that, so after hours of searching. I found a new original metal spool assembly for $25!!

Were you able to get the replacement spool assembly in okay? How has it worked since? I don’t know if you still could use it or not but in the manual the spool is listed as part #1344507 and the entire assembly is listed as part #1344503. May help if you need to replace it again!

What is the flat round switch you push down and up on this reel ? What is it for ?

@@nikko7507 that is called the bait clicker. When activated it will make an audible clicking noise in tandem with the spool letting out line. This is used in different styles of fishing if you were leave the bail opened with your line/bait out.

The current 7000i, in all of it's guises ie the C, CS, C3 models etc etc made by "pure fishing" in china. The best thing to do with them once disassembled? Throw the parts in the bin.

I’m getting ready to tear down a blue yonder 7000. I wonder if it’s pretty similar to this real inside?

This reel is ideally for a boat fishing . Therefore When it comes to boat rods obviously this reel can easily go on a 6ft and up . I have mine on the GT +30 6ft boat rod . It was once sold as a combo from Abu Garcia reel and rod up -6-9ft . This reel can be used with a 12ft rod easily depending what your boat is like and how many anglers are on board , remember it’s easier to cast with a smaller rod on a busy deck ! You can ideally use thi reel from a pier also . But anything else I’d avoid .

I paired mine with an ugly stick gx2 medium heavy casting rod 7’ in length. It worked great as an all-purpose set up. I used it fishing freshwater off a boat, surf fishing jn saltwater, as well as fishing from a pier. It truly depends on the style of fishing you are trying to accomplish, the more specific use you want from the set-up will help determine the rod you want to pair it with.

I just clean and grease 4 of those 7000 c3

At the clicker to let you know when fish is on the line.

I have the LHW version of this reel 7001 , il try it tomorrow , the instructions never explained anything about it . 🙏🏽

after you the clicker you release free spoil so the clicker will make a noise to lrt you know when a fish is taking the bait,
