Abstract Watercolor and Mixed Media Landscape Art | 2024 - 5

I like to practice mark making and color mixing by creating little abstract minis using watercolors and mixed media. And then, I make it a point to move on to working bigger (a landscape for instance) using some of the elements from my practice sessions. This is a great way to continue building on my intuitive creative process. Remember this: the creative process doesn't need to be complicated to result in something satisfying and beautiful.

This was a great extension to last weeks video’s skills. I love the way you created such a range of hues and textures with just two main colours. Simplicity building into so much more. It is very relaxing to watch and listen to you! Remaining a big kid at heart is a good thing for keeping the joy in life….sadly no snow angels here after all the rain. I could probably manage a mud angel …but I am headed to the coast this weekend so perhaps I will make a sandcastle instead! Have a wonderful week x 💙💫B x

You are my greatest relaxation… l could watch you paint all day ! Yes definitely loving it too. This would look so beautiful on a scarf. The colours brings nature together as it blends and creates shapes. Long back had painted a scarf with similar colours but seeing this makes me want to revisit it and paint the details rather than the plain 2 blended colours. You are amazing. Gabrielle you can take your paintings to those creating material designs. I can definitely see them being turned to wall papers, curtains, curtains, bedsheets, clothes. Really amazing work you share. Happy Wednesday, Sweet Girl! First, I want to thank you for leaving us such detailed tools and paint descriptions below your vid. I am a transplanted Scot living in the southern US and was having trouble finding Kremer Pigments easily. I did order the wee CSY gold palette and I am enjoying them very much - though I do find they are VERY thirsty! I don't mind at all; the golds are magnificent! So fun to paint with gold. It makes such a difference doesn't it? This piece is simply gorgeous - as usual! I really enjoyed you in the snow! I miss really cold weather and snow so much. I am hoping to go home to Inverness next winter as I am enormously homesick. I love your videos. You always make a huge difference in my mood and watching you helps so much with my anxiety. Hi Lindsey 💕🤗 I am so happy to share with you!! As a Canadian expat, I can imagine how I would miss cold winters as well. I'm sorry to see Kremer Pigments are so hard to come by in the South! And, I'm happy to see you have found solace in the CSY palette of golds. ☺️ I find mine to be quite thirsty as well, more than other watercolors for sure, but oh how they glitter and shine!! 🤩 Gold just seems to make such a difference, I agree! My husband and I traveled to Scotland a few years ago and we spend a bit of time in Inverness ❤️ before heading out to Isle of Skye - what a beautiful place and such lovely people!! I would go back in a heartbeat! I hope you do get to go back soon as well 🤗 Thank you for being so kind and generous with me 💕 Your words are a gift to my soul! You looked so happy in the snow! ❄ I'd love to send some happy mail of any M. Graham colors that you want to explore...I have the full line. It would be a way for me to give back some of the creative joy you've brought to me. I also have a few Michael Harding paints for you to try if you're interested. If you like PO48 (Quin Burnt Orange or Rust), I bet you'd love PR206! Quin Burnt Scarlet. It's and earthy transparent moody color. They are some of my favorite mixing colors and are both discontinued. 😒 I love the colors that you've chosen, I need to explore Cobalt a bit more! Thank you for sharing this lovely painting, and for all that you've done to bring peace and kindness to this world! ♥

The only M Graham color I have had really disappointing issues with is the Quinacridone Violet - for some reason it really doesn't seem to mix well with its binder. Have you had similar issues? Some people have mentioned they find it hard to get where they live. I also included a link to a color by CSY Art Gallery called Interference Green. It's not exactly the same, but it is very close.
