I am watching this from France. I am American, moved here to retire. I have a small studio upstairs and have over 60 paintings right now. I do enjoy abstract, and at times just think too much. Mark making is such an important part of my work too. My first layer, generally in pencil, is scrawling the names of all the dogs I’ve had in my life. I love that by honouring them under the painting, they will always exist in some form, long after I’m gone.

Wow, Betty super work with the combo of bold colors and smaller neutral tones, to create a feast for the eyes! Great piece of work! A bit more settled, but honestly, feeling unsettled at the same time. Everything is different...where my paints are stored, the layout of the room, etc. It's take some getting used to!

Beautiful painting 💐❤ I started using Nova Color several weeks ago and it is replacing other brands. I'm in love with the colors, price, and quality of the paint. I recently bought their gloss varnish and their matte varnish, and I cannot stress enough how amazing it is!! It has replaced all other brands 💙💙

Your crayon/china marker marks remind me of when I was a kid I would get paint by numbers for Christmas. One of the paintings was a Deer Stag. My younger sister scribbled on it with an orange crayon. I still have that painting and left the orange scribble there, it makes me smile.

It's really true when you're balancing a painting you're working on. It's something that really needs to be done. When I try to paint an abstract I attempt to do the same thing. It has to be "quirkilly" balanced. That's what I call it on abstracts. I told one of my teachers that & she just laughed. It's kindof a different kind of balance than on a regular painting.

LoVe LoVe this one!!! Beautiful as always! I have 2 questions for ya! 1) what color pink was that one jar you first picked up and put right back down? You also used the same color in “ode to Joan Mitchell” painting. (I have hot pink and fluorescent pink but the color almost looks in between the two) And 2) do you ever make paintings you don’t like? Like, Do you ever have ugly paintings? LoL! Thanks so much for spreading so much joy in this world!

I will admit, I use Liquitex Basics too and some of the colors like the yellows and the neons are so hard to use because they are so translucent.

Yes, I completely understand. And, the Basics are not loaded with pigment, so you work harder at getting the color you want. Nova paints are not that much more expensive and you'll find that you use far less paint.

Question driving me crazy, about when you started filling in with the grays-then it started looking sage green? Saw you kept adding more white then it was off camera the color you added. Love ❤️ this peace!

Hi Sherrie! I created this piece many years ago. I don't recall what I added, but it if went from gray to a sage green, most likely I added either Cadmium Yellow Medium or Indian Yellow. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi Janet! Without watching the entire video, I believe it's my bottle of gesso (I use as white paint) or white paint. I use a lot, so I like to keep it in a large squeezable container. Thanks for watchig!

Art by me ,I was hacked on Facebook lost all my stuff old photos he was going to buy a painting but he somehow got all of my stuff but what got me was my face was in almost all videos non of his I am back on Facebook it only for my art some fun stuff how do I stop it it’s so annoying my friends all new right of I was hacked before I did no never do that he even was selling some of my paintings for next to nothing my friend how I live was contacted,he new her name but still went on trying to get money I was in bed and she said is that you I said no and Facebook was of no help it’s not there problem.He’s gone I told him to get lost or I will report him I got some stuff back but not everything and Facebook has stopped stuff from showing on my page saying it’s not available at this time so lost stuff .it looks fabulous.
