How to POWER THROUGH THE MIDDLE STAGES quickly | Betty Franks
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Links are below ⬇ In this video, I'll show you what I did to power through the middle stages of the painting quickly. Also, in the beginning I was trying out something a little different, but then switched it up.
My work is inspired by my love for fields of flowers. You'll see me create it from start to finish. There's no music, however, you'll hear me talk through a lot of my process and discuss products/tools that I'm using.

Hello and welcome! I'm Betty Franks and I create my vision of abstract fields of flowers using acrylic paints and pencils (and other mark-making tools). I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel a couple of times a year to Preko, Croatia (where my parents live). I started painting in 2012 and focused on abstract art in the summer of 2015. @@stardustgirl2904 I just responded to your other messages. Although I probably wouldn't like your style of art (spaceships), I'm not going to go to your artwork and tell you that. @@BettyFranksArt I only made one comment to you ,and one comment to someone else, simply saying it's not my thing! My art is movie more like story board's they use to figure out the details of a scene. I'm actually not subbed to you,I came across your channel as a recommended by. I have never seen art like your's at all. We all have our own art style,it doesn't bother me that some people don't like my art,it doesn't hurt me in any way! I do what I love and that's what matters most, and those that like my art love it,and are amazed by it. I wasn't trying to hurt you, in any way I just left my opinion, that was it! Being in the art world you have to know not everyone will like you're art! It's not a big deal! I'm thankful for those that give me an honest review of my work, it's the only way we improve! I won't be on your channel if you stop contacting me.

They’re called wedges! (: The most common brand is the Catalyst wedge, so some people refer to them as catalysts as well. I loooove them. So many different edges for different textures! And you can also get baking/cake decorators wedges that have even more odd shapes.

It’s a matter of contour, style , composition and balance - also values and colors that balance out and keep the eye moving about the canvas in a satisfying manner it takes practice to put darker or lighter values here and there and putting markings in places that need balancing out to make everything feel in place-it’s a learned thing .. .. and takes time I’ve been doing this for over 65 years and know it’s an instinct after a while -you just know when it’s complete 😀another way to check if it’s working midway through or when you feel it is missing something or something doesn’t feel right is to turn the painting upside down- it’s amazing how the problem stands out like a sore thumb! Another way to tell is to walk into another room for awhile and then re-enter again spotting the problem area immediately - sometimes we work on it too much up close too long and need some perspective ! Happy painting 😀

Жыл бұрын
@@artistcarolyngrace1711 Oh, wow! 65 years! You've been practicing a lot. 🙌 I totally agree with you about leaving the room and then coming back in and looking at the artwork. It's then pretty easy to spot (with practice) what needs to be fixed. Thank you so much for sharing!
