Y la obra la produjo y pago el solo de su dinero, que aquí se la consideraba blasfema y nadie se iba a arriesgar. Incluso el autor se maravilló de la adaptación. Aquí no es Camilo Sesto, es Jesucristo pero miedoso y mortal, que discute con Dios, porque ni sabe ni entiende porqué tiene que ser crucificado. Si es para algo bueno, lo acepta. Pero para nada no. Vamos, como haríamos cualquiera de nosotros. Y lo que el dice, con los medios de los años 70 que eran precarios, comparados con los de ahora.

I have had the pleasure and fortune of witnessing many performances of many types of music (from folk to heavy metal) for the last 50 years. Watching Camilo Sesto has to be a top 3 in my lifetime. Few performances have marked me as profoundly as his, and this was over 40 years ago. For me, Camilo Sesto, Pink Floyd and Madonna have been the most transcendental musical events I have ever witnessed, and for so different reasons among that each one is unique. In Camilo's case, it was just his voice... no recording will ever do him justice. His live voice was the best I have ever heard live. Rest in Peace, Maestro!

OMG, Camilo Sesto Arab Man. This man is one of the best of all times. When I first heard him sing in the 70's I completely fell in love with his voice. His voice crawls under your skin making you feel every word, syllable and phrase. This song in particular makes you act the emotion that he characterize on a spiritual level leaving you with a subjective experience. I had goosebumps from listening to this and it's not my first time. Great reaction and thank you.

Porque no existía el autotune, sabían cantar con orquestas. No les hacía falta hacer malabarismos como hoy. el playback de voz no existía, la música podía si ser en playback pero la voz no, por eso los micrófonos tienen esos cables tan largos. Y a su vez eran actores, independientemente de que hubieran hecho cine, pero transmitían de tal forma, como Nino Bravo cantando Te quiero te quiero, que parecía que te estaban cantando exclusivamente a ti. Hoy todo es extremadamente artificial, música por ordenador que suena toda igual. Supuestos cantantes con autotune o voces de otros, porque no tienen ni idea. Y las que pueden cantar, como Jennifer López, el 90% del concierto es playback, porque es imposible cantar a alto nivel en directo y hacer coreografías como si fuera el Circo del sol. A Camilo Sesto o Nino Bravo no les hacía falta moverse mucho, su presencia y voz bastaban. Hoy te apuesto a que ninguno de los dos pasaba un Got Talent u Operación Triunfo.

No es de mis cantantes favoritos, pero le reconozco obviamente el mérito. menuda vocecilla... y hablamos de los 70, donde la técnica era precaria, y en tve no existía el playback de voz, como mucho la pista pregrabada, por eso los micrófonos tienen esos cables tan largos. Ahora con un programa de ordenador casi todo suena igual. Pocos saben lo que es una orquesta, y si les quitas el autotune y el playback, cantan 4. Además a el no le hacía falta hacer complicadas coreografías como se exige hoy, y está claro que cantar a ese nivel mientras te pones una pierna por detrás de la cabeza, es incompatible. Así que los cuatro que saben cantar, con esas coreografías, hacen playback el 90% del concierto.

Esta esta anécdota contada por el propio Camilo sesto: Estrenaron en España Jesucristo Superstar, el día del estreno fueron sus padres, al terminar este su mamá fue y lo felicito por su actuación pero le dijo: Muy bien hecho, actuaste muy bien hijo, pero no me pidas que vuelva a ver la obra, no soporte tu cara de sufrimiento cuando eras flagelado, no me pidas como mamá que vuela a ver a mi niño en es escena. Y así fue, su mamá nunca volvió a ver la obra, lo apoyo de todas las formas posibles, pero nunca volvió a ver la obra

Fue considerado El Sinatra Español, hasta el momento, al menos en España, nadie ha podido superar su rango Vocal. Insuperable siempre

I am a descendant of Lebanese, my family arrived in Chile in the 30's, so I am a mixture of 2 cultures, when I see you it is like seeing a relative, physically you look a lot like a cousin I have xD, said this little anecdote, There are tremendous singers in Spain and Latin America, Camilo was one of the greats along with Nino Bravo and Raphael, if you could react to any of their songs you will see that they have an impressive quality, another band that I would like to recommend is "Los Jaivas" whith the song "Mira Niñita" Chilean group who mixed Rock and prog with Andean and Latin sounds, amazing!. I had not heard this in so long and had forgotten how great he was. You are correct that this recording isn't quite right. 🎶💜🎶 My parents had a record for this guy. He was incredible yet as a young lady, I remember my "so what" attitude. Kids are such dumb critters. I would love if you could react to a Portuguese singer (and later on actress too) named Simone de Oliveira. She has many good songs but "Desfolhada" shows her vocal prowess like no other.

Camilo parecía estar en transe, altamente concentrado... Pude verle actuar en el 2008, y el Amor de mi vida lo actuaba así, él no cantaba ... interpretaba.
