Absolute Pristine GRIT! Vocal ANALYSIS of Teddy Swims "Lose Control"

Ойындар

I analyzed Teddy Swims on this channel a couple years ago with his song "I Can't Make You Love Me" and was quickly enamored by his sound. His blending of R&B, soul, country and pop with a gritty and beautiful vibrato gives me the best of chills!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Teddy Swims performing "Lose Control" for the first time.

@@bigrobfromthev Taylor Swift has gone that same route in Nashville. In her teens she sang about Tim McGraw and that ONE SONG sent her popularity into the stratosphere. I heard Teddy quite a few years ago. Loved his music and voice but lost track of him. It was really exciting to see that Kelly brought him into the spotlight!! Teddy deserves every accolade he gets and maybe Taylor will invite him to sing with her soon. What a duet that would be!!!

Okay since this video has been up long enough for my comment to not draw too much attention, I'm just going to come out and say it...since no-one else seems to. I watch every video of hers, and there is a very specific look on her face (and some very specific body language) when she watches Teddy Swims vids -which is never present in any of her other videos of other artists. Please try and see if she can meet him in person.

Best review ever. The way he says “I..Lose..con…trooooool” it’s hard to put in words but it’s a perfect and more complex way of word painting. The entire delivery emotionally and technically expresses the very sentiment of losing control that the song is portraying. This is when music isn’t just technical, catchy or impressive, it’s simply art in its purest form. Can’t get enough of this song and a great review made me love it even more

I totally disagree with your hate on Rockers and Metal head as you call them, no they’re being ignored and crapped by all this commercialized mainstream trash they call music these days. Don’t get me wrong I love all genres of music but, I can’t believe they’d disrespect the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by indoctrinating rappers into the Rock Hall of Fame over all the great rockers that have been indoctrinated first. I can assure you if a Rocker ever received a Soul Train p, Motown or BET award these main stream idiots would go completely freaking crazy, so give me a break plus, Teddy is also in the Rock genre but he’s also in Blues, Country, R&B and soul. A lot of Rock Bands are in many different Genres also but never get recognition because they believe in real music being played by people with instruments and singers using their voices not some damn auto-tuned distortion to cover up for lack of talent.

Every song he sings feels so personal. Yes, obviously to him, because of his experiences, but you can actually FEEL the pain in his voice. When artists sing about feelings and emotions that everybody feels, but most often can't put into words, it becomes so personal with/for the listener.

Don McLean’s Vincent is more then a perfect proem set to the perfect melody,in a loving tribute to Van Gogh, it’s about the people we’ve lost, those we couldn’t help, those we didn’t understand. Most people cannot listen to this evocative masterpiece without tearing up. I do every time.

Ive loved teddy before he got massive famous. This video helps me appreciate his music that much more. Its like staring at art. The world NEEDS his voice. The man makes you feel things regardless of how stoic you may be, that is music that speaks directly to your soul ❤. Love from Australia 🦘

I found him right before he blew up on You Tube. His covers were just incredible. His Raspy, soulful and tone are just amazing. I really like the covers he did and the type of music was perfect for his voice. Now that he had made it. I can’t say all of his songs are for me. Selfishly I wish he would do more of heartfelt and emotionally charged music. His control and runs are something as well. When I first heard him I knew he would make it. He is very technical but makes it sound so easy and natural. Anyways, great video! You have to do more on him. Thanks

Been listening to Teddy for some time now. He has never disappointed me, ever. My personal fave is his cover of Let Me Love You (Mario cover). I'm amazed he is not an International superstar by now but that is probably our gain and the rest of the worlds loss. Love your analysis videos BTW. 😊

Lovely reaction, Elizabeth. Teddy is a great singer. Sticking to country/soul/R&B/blues/pop singers, I would like to see you break down The War & Treaty. Michael and Tanya Trotter are a fantastic duo with so much soul. "Blank Page", live from this years CMA Awards is a great example.
