For the non-Muslims watching, fortunately the vast majority of Muslims (even practising ones) don't follow the teachings of the Quran fully and mostly follow some watered-down version that cherry picks and ignores the more problematic verses. So really it's the hard line fundamentalist elements of the community that we need to be very wary of, and not most ordinary Muslims -- despite how abhorrent some of their texts are

A clear example is when we start in Sura 19:46-48. In this scene, Abraham is expelled from home by his dad because he isn't going to be worshipping his father's gods anymore. And Abraham's response is to leave peacefully and to pray for God's forgiveness for his daddy. In Sura 60 some changes are happening. Basically saying, "Don't love your enemies, especially those expelling you from your home on account of religion." And maybe someone points out that Abraham, the good example, showed love to his dad by praying for him *in this exact circumstance.* So the text has to explain, "Well, yeah, Abraham was a good example in everything *except* when he prayed for his idol worshipping dad. Don't follow that. And that what he actually said was, 'I reject and hate you' " 🙄😂 I suspect someone was still confused over that explanation, so the text has to further explain in Sura 9:114 "Well, ok, Abraham DID pray for his dad but it was only for a short period of time." EXCEPT That in Sura 14:39-14:41 Abraham is thanking God for the sons he has *in his old age* and ties it all up by praying for forgiveness for his parents. 🙄😂

How is the sequence of Quran verses in time determined? My understanding is that when Muhamad died it was not written down in one place, but a collection of some verses written down here and there and also memorised. Did someone determine the order and is there any disagreement amongst Islamic scholars?

Towards the end of me leaving islam I learned that what was "revealed" later was the new rule. At the time I didn't think it was weird. I thought it was theb way Allah wanted it. Now that u left islam, I cancfully see this was only Muhammad's doing. He lost his mind towards the end. I couldn't see the violence for what it was since I hung onto the nice parts. 😒

I noticed that the nice verses were mostly Meccan and the changes happen in the Medinian. I wish someone would publish the Quran in two volumes - Meccan on one side and Medinian on another. That way, the differences would easier to track. I mean, this doesn't mean that some "editing" might not have occurred in the Meccan verses but it would be helpful. There are other differences. Allah (Medina) versus Rabbi (Mecca). I also noticed that Haroun and Qaroun never appear in the same Suras. Whenever Qaroun is around, Aaron is never mentioned even though for the most part, Moses & Aaron are usually mentioned together (alongside Rabbi).

The Devil is in the details of Islam…He had a fine student with prophet M who exceeded his expectations with delivering so many billions to Hell.

When i was a muslim, i often heard that verse is only meant for the time it was 'sent'. They make all sort of excuses. As if they actually know the mind of their god (they can only know their own mind lol). The surah itself doesn't mention any disclaimer that it is only valid for that time. Muslims may use any surah when it's convinient. Who has the right to say "you're not true muslim"?

And if it should be read today, it must be expected that we understand and take something from it today. To say any passage is just for then and not now throws everything into doubt. Who is the decider of which passages belong in the past? The question works the other way too, it seems perfectly reasonable for fundamentalists to ask of moderates: why should we ignore it if it is in the book? Then why is it in the book?

Man made religion with political components

Another Islamic dielemma: Muslims claim the Quran is the eternal speech of Allah. Therefore the truth is all verses originated at the same point of time/eternity. So no verses of the Quran are older than other verses. So although Allah had all eternity to get it right he had to have a built in scapegoat verse to cover up for his incompetence. If the speech is eternal then all of the speech should be authoritative for eternity but as our Muslim dawagandists tells us this is not the case. Surah 2 106 also tells us Allah causes verses to be forgotten. How then can Muslims know if they have the entire Quran if Allah has said parts are caused to be forgotten? But here is the clincher.: the Quran tells us Allah decides the day and manner of our death. How did Mohammed die? Mo wallowed in pain from the poisoning he received from a Jewess at Khybar. The Quran calls Jews the worst of creatures and Mohammed said all Jews were to be expelled from the Arabian Peninsula. It, by Islamic standards, must have been ordained for Mo (PBUH) to die in this manner by Allah's sovereign reign. So who exactly was the one who was disgraced and humbled by Allah? The beloved prophet. The irony of the false prophet fulfilling the prophecy of Surah 69 44-47 is never lost on me. And I love the following verse "Surely, it is a message for the righteous".

Not all Muslims think like this! All religions have radical groups.

When i read the Quran in Arabic, my mind goes haywire, fuses and confuses my mind, not finding the El Qaeda Base to that Belief System, named B.S.

Another misleading English translation of Quran I read is in Suraht Alnisa’s. In English the translation says that if women don’t do what they are ordered by men that they should be “disciplined” . The Arabic word used is “hit/beaten” ! I wonder when a Muslim translating the Quran, deliberately miss leads! What is he really thinking?!
