Abortion Pills are "Dangerous Controlled Substances" Now?? 🙄

Ойын-сауық

This video unpacks the disturbing new law in Louisiana that reclassifies abortion pills mifepristone and misoprostol as controlled substances, threatening up to 5 years in prison just for possessing them. It condemns the cruel hypocrisy of exempting pregnant individuals from prosecution while criminalizing anyone who helps them access this essential healthcare, from partners to doctors. The law flagrantly violates medical privacy by mandating prescription tracking databases accessible to law enforcement without a warrant. It highlights how this draconian measure will severely curtail abortion access in a state already plagued by high rates of unintended pregnancies due to inadequate sex education and limited contraception. The video situates Louisiana's brazen attack on reproductive rights within the broader erosion of freedoms and embrace of oppressive policies that endanger vulnerable populations while benefiting private prison interests and regressive power structures. It urges outrage over this unconstitutional overreach that undermines bodily autonomy.

Here's my thoughts on the "without a warrant" clause. What if, for example, you are a mom and you have a miscarriage...and then the police decide to do a criminal investigation to "make sure" that it wasnt intentional.... they investigate and find out, lets say, that the mother had a habit of having coffee a little too often...or had decided one day on a whim to have sushi for dinner...under this law and the no-limits of probable cause...they could literally lock her up and charge her with premeditated m*rder. You might think Im being hyperbolic here, but sadly, Im really not. It can and WILL happen if these people get their way.

This has already happened several times, including to a woman who tried to self-delete while pregnant and lost the pregnancy because of the attempt.

And you just know which groups of people are going to be investigated vs given the benefit of the doubt

My God, this Louisiana anti-abortion psychosis would make Nicolae Ceaușescu blush.

I'll mention since my message was read out near the end, Louisiana is actually just behind Mississippi for per capita incarcerations, with both being way ahead of the national average and actually ahead of any other democratic nation on the planet. So finding more ways to throw people in jail is... certainly a move...
