It's murky! I agree and I have been scratching my head about this for a while, so glad to hear someone else say this too.

How to make an entire song from the session and record directly on the arrangement screen?

While in Session view, press the "Arrangement Record" button (labeled "Global Record" until Live 9) which is the one located next to "Play / Stop" and everything you'll play from then on will be recorded in the "Arrangement" window. Once you're done with your playing, go to the "Arrangement" window where you'll see that the content you've just played is present but greyed out. To make it playable, click on the "Back to arrangement" button which is an orange-lit rectangle with a play icon and three lines, located at the end of the timeline, just before your track(s). The content is now ready to be played back, or edited inside this window. Did it help?
