My two cents: I like how you explain things and your videos are also very well filmed 👍 but when I watch a tutorial, my expectation is that if I follow it properly, at the end I will be able to reproduce the same thing by myself. Unfortunately you assume that beginners have access to paid plugins, paid services and even paid tiers of Ableton Live, while many of us watching these video just started moving around using the Lite version bundled with a MIDI controller (I also recently bought the Novation LaunchKey Mini MK3), with no access to third party plugins 😕 This aside, thanks anyway for your tutorials 🤟

  • @textaquito

I second this. You really should mention ALL the plugins and samples you used in the tutorial so we can all follow you. I dove for hours looking for the sounds to emulate what you created. We got splice and we got pigments but you kinda lost us after that. I havent been able to find yet the perfect plug in with keys that have great vocal sounds and just throwing away money trying to find the right one. Either mention in your write up what you used or mention all of them in your tutorials...the DAWs with their many plugins can be very intimidating for beginners

Hey, I'm in the same exact boat, man. I bought Ableton live intro and the same exact MIDI controller and I'm having problems like the fact that I can't see my tracks in session view but they're still there. Also, Ableton is overloading with 7 MIDI's running and I don't think that should happen right?

I disagree, it is not his fault what software you own or what you don't. Almost all professionals use third party plugins...Taetro is a professional. You shouldn't try and make the exact piece but try and emulate it into your work flow. Be thankful someone as skilled as Taetro actually does beat breakdowns.

By default, the sampler will play the sample at its original pitch when you play a C. When the sample is something other than a C, the notes of the actual audio coming from the sampler won't match the notes you're playing on the keyboard. There's an option in the sampler to transpose the sample and make it match up with the keyboard, but for a simple little thing like this it's slightly quicker to just transpose in your head and play the "wrong" notes on the keyboard. You've probably figured this out by now but maybe this will help someone else reading the comments.

Yup breaking down an already made beat piece by piece. Please trust that if you had time to write this comment, I don’t think you should be worried about an intro that introduces you to the presenter and shows you the track that will be broken down. Here’s a complete uncut process video from the ground up if that’s more accessible: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eJt6us6AmqzIqc4.html

Nothing more annoying as a beginner than looking at a tutorial and the first instrument he uses "Oh this is a plugin from _____" another $200....

And I promise if your reaction is to get mad about this, you will remain a beginner. The point is not the plugin, the point is the technique and how it’s used. You can react this way, or you can reverse engineer the techniques using what you have. It’s your choice.

@@Taetro Oh no, i fully understand the technique and appreciate all of that. I just find it hilarious people start out a tutorial being like "oh make a beat with these great sounds, go buy this" XD

Right so every tutorial I make should only be with tools that are accessible to you in this moment? And I guess since I make tutorials based on the music I make, I shouldn’t make music with tools that you don’t have. Please send me a list of approved plugins that you have so I can shape all my content around that. You got a long road my friend and the self-centered entitled attitude will not get your far at all. Hope you can break that.
