Julia and Abi were my original 2… but the night that Julia was let go… was the night Abi surged ahead solidly for me… so… but 3rd is Jack… so I’m with you …. Abi and Jack… Jack was great last night…t hat guy can sing anything, I think… and he’s getting so comfortable.

Abi is truly a star. She could be the next big thing.

The past round was a mix of “songs that make you wanna dance” and “Adele songs” for her birthday. I think everyone struggled a little bit on the dance songs, I personally thought Abi, Jack & Will did the best as far as the dance round went, and overall I felt everyone except Emmy & Triston did well on the Adele songs (Emmy & Triston aren’t the type of singers to even try Adele anyways lol) I was a bit surprised Julia went home, she had a bad dance song but she did really well with her Adele choice.

As to Julia, in a sense that night's performance is irrelevant... most of the votes are cast during the show but before the artist has even performed. That's why I said the vote is driven by social media. By this time, it's simply a popularity contest. What I'm hearing is that Emmy has a big following. She seems like a sweet person and is talented enough, but when the judges say Abi performed at 'another level' what I think they mean is another level compared to the other contestants. But that doesn't mean Abi therefore wins the show. Honestly, it doesn't matter all that much. Would Jennifer Hudson trade her Oscar and two Grammys for a win on American Idol?

@@wtcarter2 I think you're right in terms of image and marketability. In terms of her own career, though, her long game might be better served by getting out from under the 'Idol' contract and developing under a more tailored management team. That seems to have worked well for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I'll say something else, since I understand that you're personally very invested in this. Abi is better at this stage of her career than either Kelly or Carrie were. I watched both of them through their (winning) seasons on 'Idol', and they were both fine and deserved their respective wins. But Abi is a stronger performer with better instincts. The way she handled that microphone malfunction without missing a beat or a single note, was Pro level. Win or 'lose' on Idol, I'll be interested to see where her career goes, and I wish her all good things.

I was so waiting for you to hear this song after you not digging the 1st….. I don’t think I’ve heard a better performance because of all of what you said, the personal…. The vocal control… that ability!!! I’d put this on my play list for sure.😊

The pack unhooked from her back and fell off so when she walked back towards the center of the stage she was trying to reel in the chord and once she did that she twisted it around and caught the pack so that’s what she was shaky at the one part and she tried hooking back on her back. Just gotta pay closer attention.

Before "Bring Me To Life" I was hoping to see Abi with fireballs together on stage! You nailed it! This song certified her physicality and consummate professionalism. Lasso-ing her battery pack?! That's a highlight! Abi is extremely intelligent and dexterous. (She was a gymnastics coach.) And, as you pointed out, like two bookends "Hello" showcased her vocalization and piano playing skills. Off the charts! Abi IS the American Idol this year (I hope they crown her!) and one of the greatest American Idols of all time. She is EXACTLY what Disney and American Idol want and need. Until recently, our family were HUGE AI and Disney fans, but things got kind of "wonky" for both. Abi will have a GENERATIONAL IMPACT on AI & Disney. She is the real deal and "worthy" of the title. The sky's the limit for her. She can literally do anything!

About 10 seconds into this song I stood up and looked at my brother and said, "She's gonna win. If she doesn't win I would be shocked." I don't like to say that normally and I love Jack too but Abi is on another level. My 2 biggest concerns if she doesn't win. 1. Does she do too many runs? This turns away many voters. Her runs tend to be more subtle and packed with emotion but she may lose votes to that. 2. Country votes. Can she steal any? Country contestants do very well in these competitions. They will usually vote country even when there is a better singer. However, contestants do overcome this disadvantage and I think Abu can and will do it.

Tell us you didnt like the song choice one more time, im not sure everyone caught that

The first round of 'dance music' was a bad choice for most of the remaining contestants. Abi did better with it than the rest of them. Also, she's the only one of the 'Top Five' who should even consider singing 'Adele'. Does she win? I'm not sure; the Idol vote is driven by social media. We'll see.

Two fantastic performances, even though the first wasn't a good choice for her.

You're right, but she needs to "push" the boundaries to find out where they are! Not one in a thousand vocalists could have done what she did that night, either with the first OR the second song.

@@wtcarter2that Hello performance was truly amazing. The vocal control and ability doesn’t get any better. This and her first audition are incredible. Plus you can tell she’s a truly genuine, kind, beautiful, and humble woman. I’d be super proud if she was my daughter, as I’m sure you are. Hope she wins! She’s on another level compared to the others
