Yes it was the best era without all the stuff you mentioned...we didn't need it...we actually went out with our friends in real life and we talked on the phone. It was a wonderful time to be in your 20s for sure.

I’d only go back to visit again…..it wasn’t all that great back then. We had high inflation and high interest in the early 80’s. We had a few sad moments through the decade….remember the Challenger? The cars were underpowered and crappy….don’t want those back for everyday use. Plus….I’d really miss the Internet and todays medical technology. I only miss the music and everyone’s sense of pride….and people trying to do the right thing. Era is long gone….

I didn't ask the post-er of this video, Ricardo yet to confirm. But this sounds like he made this Extended version himself, by blending the instrumental version with the vocal. I bought the 12-in vinyl when it came out and it had three versions on it. None of them were as extended as this. If he did this, he did a great job!

This is one of the 80s song that puts that lump in your throat and takes you back to school from the 80s when the world had great vibes and the 80s chicks were so natural and so beautiful and the radio was on fire with great music and the movies and TV shows were also great. Long live generation x ❤✌, I would go back to the 80s in a blink and this time I would stay forever 🤙👍❤🙏🌏

I was in my 30's when this song came out. I loved it then and still do. Like you said, it was simpler times and carefree memories.

The magic of music is that we always remember where we were when we first heard the music. I was newly stationed in Germany in the U.S Army with my college sweetheart bride. No kids yet. Just me and her. When I wasn't on deployment, we had a blast! This great song takes us both right back to Germany in 1985. Our first car together was a brand new 85' Audi Quattro sedan purchased in Germany. We brought it back to CONUS with us. That Audi lasted well into the 90's until we finally wore it out hauling kids around.

I think this song is up there with poison arrow and look of love. I just love the florishes of piano and the plucked strings. Unashamed bliss. And I love the way he rhymes feeling and kneeling.

I'm in my 50s now, and every time I hear 80s music, I feel like I'm going back to my high school days of new waves, punk songs, love songs, parties, and crushes 😍. The 80s is the best era of great music and the geniuses of the great British invasion of bands, duos, individual artists, and most of all, the era of synthesizers. 👍 80s music's is fantastic and timeless.
