I went to work with my mum on this video - she was the animal handler for the wee dog. I’ve had to get the Woolwich ferry to get to the location it was filmed early 1983. The catering was on a double decker bus the band were very nice to work with. I’ve got photos of the go cart somewhere in my loft.

It was never released as a single in the US. HUGE mistake on Polydor's part. MTV was spreading like wildfire and UK acts had over half the Billboard Top 40 by the summer of '83. I believe Americans would've latched on to this song's catchy beat and novel "bitter" message...

This song holds a special place in the hearts of many in my country and was even used as the theme song for a beloved movie called "Bagets", which centered around the lives of teenagers. It reminds us of the simpler times of the 80s when life was less complicated and free from the chaos and issues of today. Back then, gadgets were not as advanced as they are now, and we spent our time playing outside with friends and neighbors. In the Philippines, electricity was a luxury that only the wealthy could afford, and televisions were not yet as colored as today. We cherish these memories and hold them dear to our hearts.

I love this song not only because it's an upbeat tune but reminds me of a particular period in my life and a very special person in particular. Susan of Brighton, UK. She and I lived together here in Chicago for one wonderful here, 1984-1985. I recall it was spring of '85 and Susan had a second job which brought her home later in the evening. In the meantime I'd go out for dinner with my buddies whilst she was out we'd be driving around and the windows were rolled down because it was so nice outside and this song would be blasting on my car radio and I would just tell my friends about how great she was. My friends would say to me - you really love her don't you? Additionally her sister in the UK would send her cassettes with the top 40 british hits. In one of those tapes this was on one of them. Yep. Susan went back to England at the end of '85 and it was a bad split up. After a brief while I lost contact w/her so I don't know if she's alive even. But I will never forget her

Just the melody playing in my head over and over. 😂 All damn long day, im humming the lyrics, im on KZread looking at playlists of 80's British Pop bands, Googling.... Sound Hound, the works. I finally gave up. I went to bed and laid my head on my pillow. At 1:45 A.M. my brain goes... 🎶Just Got Luuucky🎶 😂🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. And ladies and gentlemen, that's how I got here to hear a song that I haven't heard in at least 35-38 years 😂😂😂 My earworm is now satisfied, and I can go to bed 😅
