Abby's Tiny House! Less than 100 square feet!

A quick tour of the tiny house I made and have been living in for over 2 years. This video was shot in 2016, but I just got my hands on it to share it with you!
There are so many great things about living in a tiny house, like being able to "clean house" in 10 minutes or less, and when you lose something you can find it faster!

You look so happy to have your own place. That’s what it’s all about! Awesome that you are making it your own and still have the comforts of family just a stone throw away😀👍🏼
Very cute and cozy! I love how you have various older things with sentimental meaning, especially the refrigerator/freezer!
Wow love her home, garden and that princess and the pea bed.
Not all parents WANT their kids to move away😊 But since they seem to crave their own space instinctively- this is a great halfway point...especially if money isn't abundant. I love it!♥

Mettle by Abby [ I’ve re written this three times lol ]. In hindsight I should have done this on my elderly parents property. after moving back to town. I bought a house instead, but I ended up being their caregiver and ultimately moving back in with them to take care of them. A tiny house cost would have been cheaper than paying ten years worth of bills and mortgage on my own place. And maintaining both properties. Oh well. It is what it is and I’m in the process of getting their house rented as they have now both crossed over. I’ll use that rent money to pay off my 1000sqft house quickly. Then who knows? Rent this one out as well and buy a third house? ( I miss not having s dinning room and garage lol ). Use rent from the two to pay off a third? Anyway I think you’re smart and love the ingenuity of your place!
I love your little house. I grew up in the country. Outhouse out back and a well.life was simple and easy.miss that little house sooo. We kept the windows open in summer and the blinds open. Fresh air and sunfilled home.so miss those days

I like your style! Great taste and well done - not always easy to do in a tiny place. Love how you surround yourself with items which are functional yet with a meaningful history. Would have liked to see a little more of your closet and how you set it up - maybe in another video? Really enjoyed this, and appreciate how much you've done while keeping it simple.

I think it is surprisingly charming and inventive. I have learned in my old age to respect our individual paths and differences. Kudos to having the potty because I have seen a few spaces without one that leave me wondering about those unexpected calls of nature, especially in the middle of the night or bad weather.

Correction: it WAS a shed, lol! 👏 For all intents and purposes it's now a teeny-house... 🏡🏚️🏘️ And there's something about tiny living spaces that make you feel so "cozy" & intrinsically content. People are pleased and proud of their decorated large houses, so why is it so surprising that they'd feel the same about their smaller dwelling? Right? The obvious difference here is that this woman is content with less, while some large house dwellers are only happy AND content with a large house. I do believe that the person who is content, really content with LESS, is the happiest. Maybe it's because they've embraced the secret that an excess of material things doesn't truly contribute to their inner peace. However, having just what you need & being content with it, does. I believe there's a spiritual part that's been touched upon. When you're not working around the clock to pay for your material "must haves", you have much more time to let things of the "spirit" talk to you. ❤️ 😘 🤗

Jenni Lang hahaha! Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of parents saying that! I’ve been out of my tiny house almost a year and I miss it. Funny thing is that people assume I’m broke or unable to support myself, but that’s totally not the case. I had a large house and I wanted to sell it, try the tiny house thing and save up as much money as possible to be able to start my business without any loans. I was able to do it and saved up enough money to not only start a successful business, but I’ve also been able to pay for a wedding and support my family for 2 years without drawing a salary! It’s understandable that people assume that when you live frugally it isn’t by choice, but more and more people are doing it.
I love this !! So cute and fun . I want to live in something small like this
That's great! I'm planning a "shed" house for my daughter too. She's just a tween so it'll be a place to hang out, sleepovers, lunch with friends (she's homeschooled), but I'm mindful of the design for long-term. We're locally in a rental crisis, nothing is available and I could build a shed house with one month's rent. It's setting up a kid for challenges and debt to expect them to paid those rental prices for not much in return. I think I'll build a loft bedroom so there's a bigger social area and kitchen but the video helped visualize a small space and what to do with it. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely!

I love the idea of converting storage sheds into living space, as it is so much cheaper than some alternatives for family members or friends who are in a tight spot and need cheap living, or for caregivers. The problem comes with zoning and code enforcement. It is not allowed in my area to have a storage shed that is a residence. Single family zoning means no duplexes, cabins, RV's, converted sheds, etc. on the property. Depending on your neighbors who may or may not care what you do on your own property, it might be worth a go to try it. Erecting a 6' fence around the area where the shed is would hide most of what goes on in your yard, and the placement of the shed with it's entrance is important. I have known people who lived in sheds on their parent's property. The worst that would happen if a complaint was made is that you would get a warning, and on reinspection, the shed would have to reflect it is only being used for storage.

Abbey, I'm a moss lover too. It's nothing but tiny ferns with nearly invisible spores. Take a lump break it up into a quart of water and blend it in a blender or by hand and pour out the mixture...keep it up and you'll have a moss lawn. There are parks in Japan devoted to moss.

A pretty tea dispenser would be nice for your drinking water. You could hang a little corner shelf above your sink area and set it there. Also you can get a portable propane shower. Like Eccotemp L5 Portable Outdoor Tankless Water Heater. Hang outside and have a screen around it. Not good for winter but good for spring and summer.
What about extending the house for a shower so in winter you won't have to go out side
