@@FriendlyFire21346 Really? You obviously cannot do math. If Spurs won both their remaining matches (City and Sheffield United) they would end up on 69 points. If Villa lost to Crystal Palace away (who are the form team at the moment, so it's very possible) then Villa would only end up on 68 points. That means Spurs would qualify for the Champions League. The fact that as a Spurs supporter you don't even know that is really poor. Or maybe you do know that but you have no faith or confidence in your team whatsoever which is even worse. Defeatist mentality.

Also should have thought of that in the last 4 months, not when playing the arguably best team in the world that is challenging for the league and is notorious for their end of the season run-in. Being pragmatic is not being a defeatist, I just can’t sit there and lie to myself, can’t do it. If other people want to delude themselves that’s fine, but being honest is not being negative. I support my team, but don’t do so blindly and that’s fine.

But then again you're a Spurs supporter so having expectations or wanting your team to perform is not really a thing is it? BTW Villa is playing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park not at Villa Park. You didn't even know that did you? A defeat for Villa is very real considering the current form of both teams.

Consider the Man U vs Arsenal game this past Sunday. United fans hate City as much as Spurs fans hate Arsenal. Losing to Arsenal would help against City winning the title. Yet, not once did any Man U fan hope for Arsenal to win just to stick it to City, and certainly none in their stadium during the game. United fans supported their team, worrying only about their team's chance at Europe. Spurs fans put Arsenal's chance at the title over their chance at Champions, settling for a lesser tournament.

What game were you watching? Spurs played really well, best they've played in a long time. The players don't care for rivalries like the fans do. Those players wanted to win and you could see it. Son missed one good chance and people think it's match fixing. It's not exactly like spurs should be favourites to beat city. Klopp, in the early days at Liverpool, once called out a noticeable number of fans who left a game (scores level iirc) early, like 5-10 mins before 90. As an Arsenal fan. I didn't mind when Arteta changed his tactics when playing against City at the Etihad. It probably contributed to us not winning the league, as if he played his normal tactics we could have lost or won. But he took that risk. Why cant Ange get the same support from spurs fans?

What the majority of those fans not realise is that they have accepted losing being a part of their identity, Arsenal not winning the league doesn't outweigh that because it is only one season. Them being a failure will outlast Arsenal winning the prem, so its pretty much ''joy'' for now that they ''stopped'' Arsenal from winning the league. Accepting and acknowledging you are a failure is worse than anything else in sports, because you dont believe in succes of your own team.

I am in my 7th decade of attending my Championship team. Things, situations, people and Clubs can change very quickly. It wasn't that long ag that Bournemouth, Burnley( the last game of the season), and Brighton were out of the 92 league pyramid altogether. IF Spurs achieve success and get a meaningful Trophy then this will be yesterday's "fish and chips paper" as we used to say..

It was the Premier Leagues fault for rearranging that game from mid April to the final week of the season ..... they KNEW what City were like, with their history of springing late runs to the title, and the Premier League put Tottenham, and their supporters, in a really bad postion, and slap bang in Citys way .... most football fans are NOT gonna want their local rivals to win the title, no matter where they live. As for the game itself, i agree with Abbi, Tottenham played well, and especially first half ... if Son had of equalised, the result could have been different ...... but Otega saved his shot, City survived, and now face this historic 4th title win IF they can overcome West Ham.

If Villa lost to Crystal Palace away (who are the form team at the moment, so it's very possible) then Villa would only end up on 68 points. That means Spurs would qualify for the Champions League. The fact that as a Spurs supporter you don't even know that is really poor. Or maybe you do know that but you have no faith or confidence in your team whatsoever which is even worse. Consider the Man U vs Arsenal game this past Sunday. United fans hate City as much as Spurs fans hate Arsenal. Losing to Arsenal would help against City winning the title. Yet, not once did any Man U fan hope for Arsenal to win just to stick it to City, and certainly none in their stadium during the game. United fans supported their team, worrying only about their team's chance at Europe. Spurs fans put Arsenal's chance at the title over their chance at Champions, settling for a lesser tournament.

This just sums Spurs fans up so perfectly -- more concerned with how they are perceived than actually achieving anything. They focus on the potential of Arsenal fans bantering them about another league title rather than the fact that they haven't won a trophy of note for more than 30 years.

What game were you watching? Spurs played really well, best they've played in a long time. The players don't care for rivalries like the fans do. Those players wanted to win and you could see it. Son missed one good chance and people think it's match fixing. It's not exactly like spurs should be favourites to beat city. Idk why it's so hard for people to accept that city are just better and that was the difference.

If Spurs had beaten Man City (a club that hadn't won at Spurs or even scored in the league for six years) they would have had a very good chance of Champions League football.

As an Arsenal fan. I didn't mind when Arteta changed his tactics when playing against City at the Etihad. It probably contributed to us not winning the league, as if he played his normal tactics we could have lost or won. But he took that risk. Why cant Ange get the same support from spurs fans?
What spurs don't know us that, now city will beat them at their stadium going forward. Willing to throw such a psychological advantage over the best team away because of pettiness will hurt them later.

What the majority of those fans not realise is that they have accepted losing being a part of their identity, Arsenal not winning the league doesn't outweigh that because it is only one season. Them being a failure will outlast Arsenal winning the prem, so its pretty much ''joy'' for now that they ''stopped'' Arsenal from winning the league. Accepting and acknowledging you are a failure is worse than anything else in sports, because you dont believe in succes of your own team.

I am in my 7th decade of attending my Championship team. Things, situations, people and Clubs can change very quickly. It wasn't that long ag that Bournemouth, Burnley( the last game of the season), and Brighton were out of the 92 league pyramid altogether. IF Spurs achieve success and get a meaningful Trophy then this will be yesterday's "fish and chips paper" as we used to say..

It was the Premier Leagues fault for rearranging that game from mid April to the final week of the season ..... they KNEW what City were like, with their history of springing late runs to the title, and the Premier League put Tottenham, and their supporters, in a really bad postion, and slap bang in Citys way .... most football fans are NOT gonna want their local rivals to win the title, no matter where they live. As for the game itself, i agree with Abbi, Tottenham played well, and especially first half ... if Son had of equalised, the result could have been different ...... but Otega saved his shot, City survived, and now face this historic 4th title win IF they can overcome West Ham.
