A detailed roadmap would be greatly appreciated by folks who are trying to plan out their sample library investments. I've spent thousands of dollars on Spitfire products and not knowing which libraries are going to be completed / updated (and in some cases have sample issues addressed/fixed) has become somewhat disheartening. Very much looking forward to this update, but would also love to know when to expect the other elements and what they entail. Waiting is more tolerable when you know what you're expecting.

Yeah the problem with doing a roadmap is it gives people something to point to when they inevitably flake on the project lol. I wouldn't count on it.

Legato High Strings were the very thing that people were confused as to their whereabouts with Abbey Road One. Legato Low Strings came, but High were still missing, which implied they were on their way at some point. If this is another library entirely it really feels like the high legatos were intentionally left out so people would purchase this. If Legato High Strings were included in Abbey Road One you would have a much harder time convincing people to drop more money on another library. Please do the right thing and offer a major discount for Abbey Road One owners. From a marketing perspective I understand what you're doing, but it's a slap in the face for all of us that purchased AB1 thinking we would get Legato High Strings at some point.

Completely agree. But at this point, even if they offered a discount for AR1 owners, I think many still wouldn’t buy these new instruments. Or at least I wouldn’t. I’m done with this company for good.

I'm confused. Is this Abbey Road One (which is an ensemble library), or is it a brand new project called "Abbey Road Orchestra". If I want V1 legato, I can use BBCSO V1. What I'm missing is Abbey Road One High Strings legato. I've been waiting years for this to be remedied. I think they will only listen if we stop buying their products.

@@AlonsoTodo "Better" needs to be in massive quotation marks. It's more thorough for sure, but that's not the only thing that matters in a sample library.

My guess is it's a whole new string library like their symphoinc strings library. I am mainly excited for it because of the sound of the room!

We are still waiting for a high strings legato patch for orchestral foundation. Not very nice for customers.

I feel we need more info on where this is all headed. This does sound it's going to turn into a big investment and I haven't quite made that leap yet. Is there anything you can tell us about the forthcoming roadmap: number of expected modules, pricing?

We have no completed AR1, no completed BBC SO. Where are your promises? I hope that SA recovers, but until then I'm moving to the competition.

@5ammy13 ​BBC: They gave us a library that lacks layers of dynamics. Which makes it a difficult library to use. They also promised a piano as an update for existing owners. But we have to buy a piano, we don't know why.

Two things to ponder (1) SA seem to have lost a bit of direction with the departure of you know who. (2) The whole industry is going through massive changes with increasing acquisitions by PE, moving to Subscriptions and the increasing use of AI In scoring & arranging. It would see that SA are aiming at the high ground.

The lack of any kind of roadmap, premature abandoning ARO and lack of updates in general for libraries and Spitfire player, left many angry or dissapointed with this company.

While I am happy about the new product, I can't help but be extremely disappointed that you abandoned Abbey Road One before it was completed. Many of us spent our hard earned money on the promise of a full product, but you did not deliver it. Instead, you are asking us to fork over more money for a brand new product. I, for one, will not be wasting my money on this unless you complete Abbey Road One.

@@thyggs , agreed. There are a large number of Spitfire customers who are unhappy about how AB1 was handled. I have already stated purchasing libraries from other companies.

The problem is that (despite us) they will definitely find funboys who buy this new product despite of previous unfinished products and promises. This is time when I am going to switch my direction into another samples developers...

As much as I love the Spitfire libraries, I really hate companies that don't deliver on their promises.

They will release V1 for 400-500$ and then slowly dole out the other string sections until they get distracted by another new and exciting journey around the release of the cellos. By then, people will have dropped +1500$ on an incomplete string section. If Spitfire learned one thing from the Abbey Road One failure, it’s that people are suckers.

@@noice7381 I don't think so. I think this will just be the 1st violins only. By the time you buy all 5 string sections you're probably looking at a $2K stings library, just guessing here. This isn't all that unusual for Spitfire. It's how their big buck libraries used to be in the past from what I understand.

​@@noice7381They released AR Orchestra percussion in three batches totalling around 1.500$ (and there's still no tuned perc, so make that 2.000). Given this pricing policy, they will not release a full string library for 500. The VI-Control announcement also says "Abbey Road Orchestra First Violins is nearly here!"

Next up, the first horns. My wallet isn't as modular as spitfire clearly😶

My biggest disappointment with ARO is the apparent lack of post-release development. It feels like there is untapped potential here, and it would be great to see Spitfire Audio invest in expanding and enhancing this product further.

Well, I just got a promotional email from Spitfire and it turns out that each string section will be a separate library.

Is this an expansion to Abbey Road One like Legendary Low Strings? It is unclear what this product is. If it is an expansion then legato would be a welcome addition to ARO. However if this is a new product then we all need to ask do we need yet another orchestral library? Some clarification please.

It’s striking how negative the comments have become on Spitfire videos of late. I really hope there’s some introspection going on within the company, as it’s so sad to see it losing the good will of its customers who have understandable gripes.

Sounds amazing! I too though hope that Abbey Road One gets a 'soaring high strings' or similar add-on. Also Paul uses the term 'tier' which could signal a subscription model being introduced for this product or a range of products. God I hope so!

Very dissapointed you guys. Genuinely. And i've sunk 3k plus into your libraries. But this is ridiculous now. You cannot simply release three entirely different incomplete libraries with the ABBEY ROADS in the title and expect people to be ok with it.

Ingrates? Spitfire released Abbey Road One and many of us spent our hard earned money on this, with promises that it would be completed. It was not completed and those who bought it are left with an incomplete product. We have every right to complain about this.

I think it's a bit silly to say AR1 was never completed. And I think it's really silly to say we were promised anything. There was very little in the way of promises ever made about the AR1 series. Way too many read into the hype what they wanted to hear I think. Having said that, saying that customers expressing their disappointment are ingrates is even more silly. Healthy criticism is what leads to much better products. Companies who don't listen will find themselves with fewer and fewer customers. We have plenty of other options here. So it's not like if Spitfire went away there wouldn't be any new orchestral sample libraries. They're not Native Instruments, who could wreak real havoc if Kontakt went away or was really screwed up.

@@rbingraham As I said in another reply, the product description for AR1, which is live on the site right now, mentions legato violins. It is borderline false advertising as the library has no legato violins of any kind. The library was literally left unfinished by every definition, and arguments could certainly be made that promises were broken.

@@rbingraham It is not at all silly. In fact, AB1 IS incomplete. Where are the high string legatos??? This is a quite critical element of strings. In some of the other modules, the instrument ranges are so small, which severely limits its usability. These are legitimate criticisms. Had I known this would be the result, I never would have purchased AB1. As it stands, I have already started shifting my purchases to other companies.

spitfire audio:They are thieves a lot of microphones ,not a lot articulations,On the other hand a lot of options(core, pro etc.....). they make fun of people now Frankly aroof is not a complete library, this is not a finished product, they make money with the name of BBC, and they quickly understood that they could make money with the name of Abbey Road abbey road one, abbey road two, abbey road percussion hight, abbey road percussion low, abbey road percussion metal, abbey road one the collection etc..... for 449€ each LOL they deserve just one thing: that their software is pirated !
