I can imagine an elderly couple living in this home, small, cozy. She would rise up early in morning and make coffee, breakfast. They would walk around outside property on a warm sunny day, he would pick her some flowers out of the garden, return home for a quick nap before lunch, once they wake from nap, they would sit at the table and have lunch and conversation of who is coming to visit on Sunday. Reminds me so much of my grandma's old home, that I loved visiting and hearing about the good old days.. Thanks for reminding me of those good days..

Great antiques. Just sad thinking this was someone's grandparents home filled with so much love and happiness at one point, then just nothing.😟 Left to rot away with the years. Nature is definitely having it's way with this home.

Absolutely...sry to interrupt, April, but when we were kids, my friends n i used to go into old abandoned houses....they always thought "whoo, party place" but I was the emotional guy who would not party or destroy anything bc of exactly what you said. Each home deserved respect and I always wondered about family gatherings, Christmases, etc, that made a house a home, n how sad it was that memories are left to just decay! You are gorgeous, btw! Take care.

Rob and Kristy, have you ever considered starting a detective agency together? You two would be ideal for finding answers to mysteries about abandoned houses. You could start at the hall of records where they are located and get names of former owners and also use the library to research and discover unlimited stories to write and publish online. It would be very interesting for both of you adventurous people. There are many people who would pay you to find answers for them about missing friends and/or relatives. You could uncover a lot of hidden info.

Shelia David It makes me anxious to see all of that beautiful furniture left to rot and perish; I know that the credo of urbex is always to leave things the way they were found, but all of those beautiful antiques are getting destroyed. Sooner rather than later that house will collapse in on itself and the furniture will go with it. Why not take the furniture while it can still be used? I would definitely do everything in my power to do it legally- contact next of kin, etc.....

I’ve always thought people do come and get what they want but most younger people don’t care for the old stuff. I think too most older people don’t leave wills and don’t leave their stuff to people. I’m surprised such a fallen in older home has electricity. I’ve seen that on videos in Europe but not the states.

Can you handle the long drive from where you work...can you handle the $10's of 1000's in renovations, the enormous heating costs...& no such thing as A/C.. A place like that can cost a fortune to own... I'm sure if it were such a dream house they would be still living there. It would have been a drafty heat monster long before 2002. You'd need to make $75Gs a year to live in that old mansion...at least that esp if you want to drive as well, & go on vacations.

That house is going to burn up with the electricity still on and the house falling down on it. Ohhhhh! Load up that beautiful old piano and most of the other wood stuff that can be refinished! Furniture makers hardly ever use wood anymore! At least not for the common folk! Somebody save that piano before the house falls in around it! That kitchen stove is awesome. Some of those dressers and other bedroom pieces would sell fast in a second hand furniture store if it was refinished. It is so sad to see all that old furniture going to waste! When my grandparents died my parents did not want their furniture or my great grandparent's furniture. Thankfully, I did get some of the better pieces but so much of it my mom just gave away. I did't have a big enough place at the time to save as much of it as I would have liked to. That still bothers me when I see old places with furniture and personal family history left behind.

Some utility companies have a 'Compassion " Rule for electric services, particularly in cold climates. If a customer slips into Arrears on payment, rather than terminate service, they provide a fraction of normal services to allow refrigerators, and electric control furnace switching circuits to run. I suspect that is why there are some things still working there. Collapse is imminent there. Peace & love

The problem is that a lot of the time these houses are in out of the way places and there are no job opportunities anywhere near. That may be why the house is vacant in the first place, because the family had to move to find work. They may try to sell the place but nobody will buy it for the same reason. It wouldn't work to give it to homeless or disadvantaged families that wouldn't find work and couldn't pay the bills.

Since someone was a newspaper hoarder I'm wondering if the letters sent by deena the guy saved after she left or died. There were those ribbons with 2002 on them. That house had to be decaying while someone lived there. Makes you wonder why everything was left behind and the house so tidy. Enjoyed!

Jan Warriner From what I could read, that didn't look like a lovey dove letter. Looks like there was a dispute going on about the property. There was a line that read, "she didn't think I was going to just give away $75,000." The author of that letter was definitely angry, I just wish I could've read the whole thing!!!!

Oh wait.... I just peeped the second letter shown. In it she writes: "have you gotten the house cleared (or cleaned) & organized yet? I sure hope so for your sake!" At the end of letter, it looks like she was writing to another female, as it states: "well LADY I've really gotta go now.... All of my love, Rina" Sad that it was just left to rot away.

I recently bought an almost 170 year old Victorian home which I intend to decorate in classic antique furniture. Sadly, it is very difficult to find classic antique furniture and so to see georgous pieces just falling into what I can only describe as sink holes, makes me very upset. If I knew where this house is I would drive there and take as much furniture as I could. ( not really but I'd definitely pretend I was going to for a few weeks) Love your videos. This one has the feel of an abandoned Bed & Breakfast, the way the bedrooms are set up. And the lack of personal items.

The one bedroom that had the carved wooden bed frame and dresser to match were beautiful. So much of the furniture was so well appointed. Too bad it's all going to wrack and ruin. I would love to have furniture like that

That kitchen is just great. Cool old furniture through out the house. Too bad the house is sinking. Hope there is family to claim the items in the house. Great find.

What a lovely house this must have been. Great furniture and appliances and the piano was nice as well. It is so sad that this is all just sitting there rotting away. Love your videos guys. You are my favorite urban explorers and it is a treat whenever my notification bell shows up and I see it means I have one of your videos waiting to be enjoyed. Thanx!!

I love these old farmhouses, they have style, charm & character! It feels like a historic museum house. Makes me sad to see buildings like that left to rot. Should be saved earlier, only a bulldozer can save that house now. Great video, guys!! Take care....

I'd love to know some of the history behind some of these old places. Every place has a story. I find it very strange how some rooms are kept immaculate while others have been left to rot.

Those shoes placed perfectly in front of the chair make me feel really uneasy. It's as if the former owner came home, took their shoes off, died right then & there in that chair then the shoes just remained there ever since. Creepy.

I never understand how, in some of these houses you guys end up in, there can be stuff out in the open, dated back to the early 20th century, like the newspapers, and then, in the bedroom right next to it, there's written letters that obviously aren't that old. I mean, they're not even yellowed at all. And those ribbons were dated 2002. How do these things end up in the same place?? It makes me wonder if someone was living there since it's been abandoned, like squatting there, but maybe before it started to majorly collapse in on itself. Those newspapers are a real mystery to me though. Like, have they just been sitting out in the open like that for decades? Just so odd! Awesome house though. I'm so glad I found your channel.😊❤️

One of the ribbons on the mirror said 2002. There is no way anything in the house is from 2002. Even the soap dispenser in the bathroom was really old. This place was awesome though. I really liked it. Thank you for sharing it with us. ♥️

What a remarkable house!! SOOO sad to see it sinking away, especially with all that awesome furniture in it!! I wish someone would go in and rescue the best bits. It would be so nice if someone could get that stuff and sell it for the owner!! Those strange upholstered chairs would be my first choice, but there really is a lot of good stuff in all those bedrooms! I wonder if it was a boarding house or a bed and breakfast at one time. Good video, thanks for posting! ✌

Another great RNK video. Thank you for all that you do. In these abandoned places with power, have you ever checked to see if the meter bases where power comes in (and can be disconnected) have been tampered with by either squatters or previous explorers?
