Found me a '65 D200 pretty much the same way back in '95, the owners kid had pitched the #2 rod and the owner had just parked it out of disgust. $150 and a freshened 4 bbl 318 poly later it's still my daily diver. Enjoy yours!

That 1965 Dodge truck really brings up memories for me. My dad had one that lasted a long time. I cried when his baby blue Dodge locked up and quit. My dad is gone now and when I see a truck like it I'm in tears. Good luck with your find. Restore to its original glory.

A fine truck for bringing back to life! I had a 1969 D200 for 39 years that always started and ran fine. My old Dodge was purchased and restored this year and now has a new home. Happy trails to this fine ride... Skip

I remember as a young boy an old neighbor in his '90's brush painting and stenciling his mid '60's D100 fire engine red with white top and lettering. "Why?" i asked. "This good old truck will out live me." he replied. I've wanted one ever since. Joe Cocker sound track was perfect by the way! Great find!

That is a beauty to behold. Lets hope and pray the kid ain't a total retart like he usually is and leaves it like that or goes spinning the tires with it.... That body is so straight and well preserved it is begging to be a total resto. In about 25 years that truck will have astronomical value. It already has historical value. We just did one similar to it here. It was found on/at a Pickle farm in Southern Georgia had been garage kept until the 80's when it was given up the motor was toast bread. The body was arrow straight the interior mostly other than the seat it had rubber mat flooring which was common for 1965 & 66 on back. The stainless trim glowed in the dark and the guy that bought it still realize some of things like them reflectors and stuff the screws as well as the holes the screws went into became rust repair areas but due to the thickness of the metal it was easy to weld patches to it here and there. The rockers we got in a kit that had new weather stripping and wing windows @Tonys parts. The kit was a better part of $1,000 for everything. But it came with glass for the wing windows were a total assembly like drop in. The problems with the doors were beautiful outside but rotted inside at places so we surgically removed the critical portions of the doors from the insides also rust proofed the rest of the door inside out. We created the new pieces by hand and welded it all back up. The thing now sits in the guys garage he loves the truck it has a 3spd on the floor too. I found a 360 motor on line which was not an old style 360 but the truck cooked along we cammed the motor and added headers and Holley DEMON 4bbl. The trans went bad this past November he got a rebuilt for $1,000 for somewhere. I would say with what he paid us he us here and the other stuff he has to have 10K in the truck total by now but it is a honey like that one. I have an 88 Ford Highboy and it is going the same route only the bed is missing as well as rear fuel tank is also missing. Well preserved but still a money pit... It seemed like a simple restoration and it basically did not seem like much until ya start taking shit apart and try to make work right again. That is where sweet looking vehicles like these start being a total pain in the ass.

This is a VERY intriguing rescue! I am amazed at how straight that truck is. It is obviously a truck that was well cared for... right up until it was parked. It's also obvious that it sat for a long long time. BUT even so it wasn't abused where it sat, just neglected. I would LOVE to hear the history of it, it seems as if there has to be an interesting story behind it! Did it get parked because it's owner died? Did it get parked for some mechanical issue? Also was the guy who last drove it the original owner? Great find, it's going to come back and look awesome I'm sure.

I've never come across a channel where all I had to do was watch a single video to make me subscribe, but that was all I needed. It's obvious this channel has quality content. Great videography and choice of music, it feels like a documentary without even speaking a word.

Good to hear Leon Russell playing again back when he was producing, writing and arranging for Joe Cocker... Leon's fron Kansas originally and the Oklahoma area... then on to New York and L.A. with the Wrecking Crew then the worlk. Elton John's big influence when he was first coming up [you can hear how Leon influenced all of his early albums.. well Leon and Laura Nyro but... great stuff]. Thanks for putting that music up Dylan. Nice!

MostlymoparIH Dodge realized that since the rotation on the tires on the drivers side was counter clockwise, they would put counterclockwise threads on the one side so that if the lug nuts came loose, they would self tighten instead of loosening up even more. #moparingenuity

I learned to drive on a 68 D100 with slant six three on the tree. My Dad bought it new for $2000 and I got my license in 69. It was a tough truck, he drove it to work and we went hunting and fishing in it. We loaded a john boat in the back and hauled all sorts of stuff. Just like trucks are made to do not just drive around town pretending to be tough. lol The next year he bought a Dart Custom with the slant six and torqueflite. He paid less then $3000 for it and I got to drive it to school. I had a great Dad and he knew the value of those Chrysler vehicles. We had two new vehicles for less then $5000 and they were both dependable and tough.

It is so excited for me to watch you washing the truck because it brings me back memories when I was in Georgia 26 years ago me and my friend was riding around near Aténs ,GA exactly the same looking truck with the same color and we love It, it was fun back in those days.

Looks identcal to the one dad had in 70's except his was a 3/4 ton Camper Special with a 318. Speedo only goes to 100. The truck went well past that and the needle broke off. I told my dad that it just popped off when I hit a big bump, and he didn't know the difference until a few years ago. Loved that truck!
