Abandoned Tennessee Castle finally being restored
Ойын-сауық
This is the real story told behind the ashlar hall. The story behind the Ashlar Hall, is something quite interesting. As you see this Castle like building you start to think to yourself. What happened here. Or what's the story behind this place.
Hi I'm Zach and welcome to Rooted Expeditions. Today we will be diving into the history this Mansion holds. From originally being built as a home for a man and his family to a Man who claimed to be an alien. YES you heard me an Alien. But we will get into that in just a moment.
This Castle that was built and left to decay has finally found a owner worthy enough to take on the task to bring it back to life. With odds that might seem too difficult to face. This new owner proved that what many said was impossible was made possible by one man's dream which became a reality. Hit that thumbs up and Let's take a look into the events that shaped this building today.
built in memphis tennessee.

There is another mansion right across the street Annesdale Mansion that’s also just as gorgeous for a wedding. I grew up in this neighborhood and there are plenty of mansions. All breathtaking.
I love to see things restored. This project will be great.

Stunning! I just don't understand why these beautiful homes dwindle so. I know there are circumstances and I guess being stubborn and full of ideas, I'm always looking for reason, to save the Nastaja in our historic buildings. We actually could learn a lot from the island across the pond. Some colonies refuse to change the historic look of their small towns so the tourist can enjoy the beauty.

The entire neighborhood for miles has gone waaaaay downhill. It's an anomaly, not a mansion.

So many here have not learned to appreciate age and craftmanship and beauty. They are all about 'new is better' . They would rather have strandboard and vinyl than real wood and stone. Many have no knowledge of history, and do not understand about preservation, and its value.

The cost of maintaining a home of this size limits who can afford to own it. If the surrounding area is in decline security becomes an issue. This house is 11 thousand square feet. It's historic so climate control is a must especially in Memphis where humidity is high. It's sad but I can certainly understand why so many of these beautiful homes have been lost. When they were built labor was cheap and there wasn't property taxes or income taxes, etc. Memphis has quite a lot of historic homes, perhaps not castles but lovely just the same. It's one of the things that I like about it and one of the reasons I moved here.
When the city owned the property and slowly sold off lots of land They should have been required to reinvest some of the money Back into the home.

i agree.
What would we ever do without visionaries that save our history? Because structures are worth saving that we’re originally built so much better than today’s structures.

Memphis the armpit of the south and I say that as a Tennessean living in Williamson Co.
I would make a pilgrimage to Memphis just to spend a couple of nights in the home. Beautiful and exciting that it is being refurbished by a man who came to the US to make his career.

I've driven by this thing so many times. I never realized it was abandoned. I heard the mayor lived in it and just assumed it was true Edit: The alien guy is the one I was thinking of. My grandpa told me about him but he never mentioned the craziest parts.
In 2o22 now i purchase this house for Orphan people's.
No matter what they do to it, I wouldn't take it for free. I'd never live in Memphis.

When you invest your time, money, tears and sweat, on the end this will be priceless in his eyes, as it should. Wish him joy and happiness in life and his dream to come true. Finishing this beautiful mansion is a challenge, but his doing very well. Hats down.

The interior is gorgeous but such a small building made up to look like a castle, that just looks silly...

If 11K square feet is your idea of a small building, I don't know what to tell you. Way too much house for yours truly--if it were mine, I'd feel compelled to offer six or seven friends the chance to buy into it so I wouldn't feel ridiculous living in it all by myself.
