Hey everybody! I'm actually from Gaffney, South Carolina (where the set of The Abyss is) and can answer questions about the site. Right now I am contacting many people on trying to gain access to the place. The actual site as show has been torn down but the giant warehouse used for filming the inside parts of the movie is still standing. I am hoping there is some stuff still in there to give to our local museum. But yeah, if you have any questions on the intricacies please ask away!

I used to work at USH in production. I visited the Jurassic Park set many times. The second to last time I visited it I walked around and admired the work that was put into the set as my contract was close to ending. I went back that same week and the whole building had collapsed in itself. In 2019 they tore it all down and cleaned up the entire section. Now it's a picnic area for employees to go and enjoy their lunches. It's a small lake and the push button waterfall runs in the background.

Really love your videos!! So I've got at least one great movie set for you to explore in part 3! In Port Townsend, WA is Fort Worden where the movie An Officer and a Gentleman was filmed. Many of the sets are still there, maintained by the fort, as well as the room at The Tides Inn that featured prominently in the film. The Inn still has the room, now designated as the Officer and a Gentleman suite. Totally surprising to me, though, is that they filmed the decompression chamber scene in the basement of one of the barracks! And the set was just left standing and is still there. I found that the door to the basement when I was there was unlocked, so I was able to go in and take pictures. I can send them to you along with the pictures I took of other sets used for filming if you'd like. Just let me know!

awesome video, I'm surprised though at how many people have mentioned finding the Tots TV puppets creepy, I loved them lol, I was around 10 when they first came out over here in the UK and I thought they were awesome, same with the show Rosie and Jim, interesting and relaxing, yet educational show for kids :)

you should do Spahn Ranch where the Manson family lived and they filmed Bonanza, The Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) and The Creeping Terror. In the mid 70s a lot of the sets ended up burning down, I'm not sure if any of the buildings still remain, but the trails and that iconic cave still remains.

I always remember going on holiday to somewhere in Spain, possibly Crete where we visited an abandoned Wild West town as a Tour. It was used in films and such but I can't remember where it was exactly and what films as I was fairy young at the time.

Cecil B. DeMille left the set of his movie The Ten Commandments along the beaches of the Central Coast of California west of Santa Maria and to this day while driving on the beach one can see Egyptian statues over half covered by sand. A eerie reminder of past ancient Egypt.

Jurassic Park set was astounding, considering how it was portrayed in the film. I liked it Jurassic Park 3, where they being chased in and out the cage tunnel..... it creeped me out. I think for many people that critisized it didn't live up to its predecessor, maybe they didn't see it in cinema? Those gruesome moment was well captured

I know I'm 3 weeks late but yeah, you probably did. I was born in 1988, and have no memories about commercials for new episodes or anything like that. But my most clear memories about the show are watching it with my younger brother, who was born *in* 1991. He probably means the original run of the show was 89 to 91. It was most definitely syndicated through early to mid 90's.
