Wow! I have seen this place from a far distance for many years growing up and finally was able to set foot on the property. An eagle scout from the local town requested to have a car show located on the property of the former Tri-City Dragway near Saginaw, Michigan. The facility hasn't had a public event for over 40 years and many people came from all over the state (and farther) to show their cars off and walk the grounds. The hosts were kind enough to cut pathways in the grass for people to explore the grounds and there were many nostalgic stories shared by people who attended. Last I heard there were over 450 cars at the show and the grounds had reached capacity in the early afternoon. For those who were turned away, hopefully this event is held again next year and you are able to join. If not, please enjoy the nostalgia and honor this video shows on the old Tri-City Dragway.

This is great. Nice show and interesting cars but at very cool location. I wanted to check the place out when i was in the area but feared it was airport property and I'd better not. Went to the old overgrown Motor City Dragway and the Detroit Dragway site though. That is quite intact, the old buildings, center stripes on the strip and fencing. Good job of documenting what's there.

Thanks for posting this vid, I remember seeing the Little Red Wagon and Hemi Underglass wheelstanders there one weekend as a young teenager. I moved to Texas in 1976 and moved back to Michigan in 2019 and have wondered what happened to this place I wished I would have heard about this show and hope to hear about the next one!

Nice video of this event. I didn't hear about it until after it had happened. I live within 5 miles of here. The Nasty Nash was purchased new and raced here by my late Uncle George LaVictoire. Rode in it a few times when I was a kid and he lived on Garfield. He really hated to sell it. From what I heard this isn't the OG race car, its a clone. Still good to see. Great video. Hope to make it this year though.

Thanks for the video. I was not able to make it. My father too me there when I was a kid to see a lot of the big names (including another, older version of the Motown Shaker).I spotted several friends cars. Hopefully it happens again.

Thank you! I really hope they keep the buildings up and/or rehab them to have the place be like a museum exhibit and hold an annual car show and a single weekend spectator drag event. Kind of like Woodward, where one week out of the year people are allowed to celebrate car culture (with burnouts and showing off their car in a place it’s not otherwise allowed).
I was hoping they cleared more. Man! Most of the brush you see is Autumn Olive. That stuff is so nasty and invasive! Every year I tear a huge brush pile of it out on our property and can never catch up with it!

@@AdamPE21 if plans change let me know and I’ll get you in there! I’m not sure if you saw the flyer or not but we opened up a 501(c)(3) non profit for the track and we are releasing our goals to the public at the show this year!

And his 4 daughter all racers his youngest had a bad crash at the end of the race he was scared but she was okay 👍👍👍👍
