While filming at Centralia, we stumbled upon this ABANDONED home. It sits all by itself on a dead end street, hidden behind trees and bushes. Every door and window was sealed up except for the front door. Come with me as we take a look at this home that lies in the middle of the ABANDONED town of Centralia. Enjoy

I imagine all the family holidays and kids’ birthdays that happened in that house. Someone’s cherished memories. Too sad to think that people don’t have a “hometown” anymore.

Centralia is so tragic. Thank you for being respectful. I appreciate the fact that you you do homework on the places you explore. I love that you are resourceful in finding properties that are close to you. I love the videos of the animal park, Knoebel's, the fireworks, the trains and the mines. I love it that you take Lili along. You have a great work ethic. Oh and I love the live feeds. The abandons are dearest to my heart, of course. You are the best!

Even if there were no vandals, the house would still have been destroyed. Whenever a Centralia home's residents pass away, the government demolishes the house. As of now there are only 4 occupied houses left in the town and they will also be knocked down when their owners die. .It was great timing that JP was able to explore the house before it was bulldozed. Almost all the buildings in Centrala are gone now. Besides the tiny handful of houses, the only structures still standing are the former municipal building, The Catholic Church and a war veterans memorial. The Oddfellows cemetery is still there as well. Other than those things, a few signs and the crumbling roadways, it's getting harder and harder to tell that there was ever even a town called Centralia that existed in that part of Pennsylvania.

Hey everyone, I understand the exploring adventure bit especially with Centraila but I am going to ask PLEASE be respectful of what little bit of the town I grew up in is left. Mr. Wormer was a neighbor of ours and lived behind us. He was a great guy his wife was very nice too. I miss the town and the people a lot. So please just be respectful of what is left so others can enjoy it for what little time is left. I come up a couple time a year and keep watching the town fade into history. Have fun exploring

yeah it recently got demolished, there wasn't much left to of it from the vandals destroying it. I went there yesterday and saw it was gone and a big sign was in its place saying something like this land is owned by the mine. I'm glad I got to film the house right before it got demolished unfortunately it was all vandalized though.

I look at these old, beautiful buildings and it's just so sad to see them decayed, vandalized and personal belongings of family strewn all over. When you think of the family times, the love that those walls held you wonder how someone could just destroy that for the heck of it. All I can think of is that those people must not of had a good childhood, were not taught respect for others and as Grandma always said "didn't spend enough time in the pew OR the woodshed". Glad I was able to see your video before it was to far gone by vandalism. I understand it was torn down already. By you doing the video it will live on....

The toilet in the house is a 1953-1956 "Standard" (American Standard) Cadet. From the looks of things , the house was probably built in the early 1900s, with the bathroom & kitchen being updated in the 1950s. That coal furnace is really cool too & looks like it was being used until the house was abandoned.

Great footage of what this place looked like before it was marred by senseless vandalism a year later from another video I watched. They even took the toilet paper and put the bathroom sink in the bathtub, who does that?! I understand it's an unwritten rule not to take things from urbex locations, but preserving that video tape(s) of old news and raw footage about the town was an exception. Again, great video to compare and contrast before the place was vandalized and ultimately demolished.

New to your videos and live streams, just finished a couple of documentaries on Centralia and was in tears at the finish! So sad these proud people lost everything to underground mine fires. You are correct, the last 4 or 5 remaining residents won a law suit in 2013 to remain in their homes until they die, then the government takes it as imminent domain and tears all the homes down. The “graffiti highway” has been bulldozed and is no more as well. Thank you for respectfully documenting their lives and videoing before it is all gone! I hope the cemetery, St. Ignacious (St. Iggy by the locals) will remain untouched and kept up!

I hope they took the video tape with the scenes of the mine fire. This is a piece of history and items like this should be removed by responsible people before vandals and the wreckers destroy it. Even family photos and very personal items should be removed and returned to the family in case they were overlooked. That's preserving history not theft or vandalism. I think Mayor Womer would have approved.

Nice documentation of this now demolished home. I noticed a beautiful vase after the cement deer. It was made by Roseville Co. and is very collectible. Worth money even with slight damage. The story would have added to the value I would think. Can't help but wonder if someone rescued it. It was outside after all. I have a matching piece in the same design but it is a rectangular bowl with the same style handles. It was my Grandmother's.

I've been learning about the sad history of Centralia lately and it really seems like Centralia could still be lived in today if they had not bulldozed the other homes. From what I have been able to find the fire is mostly if not entirely moved off from Centralia. I don't know if any gases still leak up or not, which would make a difference. I do think they probably could have put out the fire if they truly wanted to, but I think the bean counters got their way. Very unfortunate. Thanks for sharing this video!

There’s generations of people who will have to deal with this mess and it would have been a much more affordable to deal with it in the early days but instead they just let it burn out of control. What would have cost half a billion to fix in 1962 would cost $4,946,616,667 in 2023 dollars. Almost 5 billion dollars. The whole situation is just nuts.

Yeah I hope other EXPLORERS will respect the family of the owner of the house, I just saw a new video of this house and most of the items shown here were either removed or stolen, the TV set was broken the sink in the bathroom were removed they even painted the head of one of the reindeer yellow...what a shame.....nice video...keep it up!

This is a great place to see. Do some research before you get there. We went in August 2022. It is hard to imagine the town almost had 3K people at one time. And while the fire has moved on, there are 3 building left in town. A church up on the hill, the municipal building, and 1 home with 5 people. The remnants of the town are there, YOU have to find them, and you really need to look. I would suggest taking a picture of what the old town looked like, so you can follow the streets. And graffiti Highway is no more. They covered it with dirt. And it you want to walk where the highway was, keep in mind the police patrol the area and they will fine you.

I understand that this may be seen as wrong but i would of taken some items just for prosperity and history saving, i feel sentimental to some items found in that house even though i never been there or what not. I see my self as a archivist and would rather have myself take it and know that the items are being cared for rather than someone taking it and just tossing it in a bin a few days later, or, as i have found out through these comments, be apart of a demolition where the items may have been thrown away or recycled.

I have a few stupid questions to ask anyone, I am relatively new to watching these videos, but is it illegal to take anything from these houses when you know for sure that the owners will never return??? Also isn't this consider trepassing and breaking and entering??? And finally why except for arson would the local police department even care if you did take anything if you knew the owners abdandon the house and left for ever??? Can someone please explain to me

Its not breaking and entering when its already broken into. Its obviously illegal but whos around to stop it? This house was demolished but i do this to document history before its gone. I never enter a location unless i can freely walk in.

There was a huge long court case over the homes , In the end the deal was you can stay and live in your home but when you die are leave no one can live there. Not even family are loved ones once the owner does die they make you leave. idk seems like a not so fair deal to me if people understand what they are getting into there let them stay.
