Oh wow, now that brought back memories Stu. I used to own a Renault 5 alias mine was the baby of the range a 908cc 3 door TC but what an awesome car it was. It wasn't the quickest but if you took a run at hills it could fly with the best of them. Like the day on Folkestone Hill (before the tunnel) it shot past and overtook a Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth with 4 young lads in it. I will never forget the shocked looks on their faces as my mighty little red Renault 5 shot passed them and held them off all the way up the hill and beyond!

Awesome find, Recent-ish MOT. Dimma wide body kit, standard engine, and to top that.. An ex-Max Power display model 👍👏👏 Not much required to get it back to top notch.. Which it needs and not left to be wasted. Get it on the road and enjoyed 🤞

@paulcherry8256. I think you'd be surprised about the amount of work it would take just to get it back on the road. Let alone back to top notch shape. There's a reason why there are 1000's of cars across the county rotting away, unfinished in people's garages.

Another great guy allowing you to film his car and open it up for you. Didn’t quite understand what he’s doing with all the other cars on his drive but that Renault def needs to be saved! Nice that when he opened the boot he took bits of rubbish out - hopefully he will continue now he’s spoken to you and get it sorted. My first car was a Renault 5TL and I loved it - great little cars 👍👍

Renault 5 GT turbo wide body nice I'm not into the wide body kit I had a friend with a 11 turbo and I think that was better looking but they are even more rare now and good of the bloke to show you hopefully now he will start getting done again another great find again stu 👍

A lad I worked with owned the green skeete, at the time it was a one of kit skeete made it had chrome split rims and a custom made interior either white or beige and was running 300 bph , not sure this is the same one but I’m going back about 27 years ago 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nice old motor mate well worth sorting out always wanted a dimma.

It’s called a Dimma bodykit. They were only available for certain French cars. They did look fucking boss on the Renault 5 Turbo though

That’s a proper Dimma and has the original rare Image alloys on it. The bonnet scoop is a modified Subaru Impreza one from back in the day and Renault 19 16v Charmade front grille. What a shame. I have had a few R5GTT’s but the head gaskets all ways went and one caught fire as the carb perc fan caught fire on the drive which was a common problem, that still has the perc fan in place 😮

You know your stuff, yeah, when I had mine, it overheated and caught fire, but we were near a beach, so water and sand a plenty haha, appreciate you, bud

I sold my Renault 5 gtt in 2005 and wish I had kept it stored away reg was h435 kef last known location pontefract but they was little weapons in the day. 128 bhp standard and weighed less than a ton

It used to be kawasaki green and its got a skeete front bumper on it,i remember that car on the front cover of max power.

Its so sad when you see great hatchbacks rotting away on driveways. They are like Pets they deserve a good home and to be taken care of. He should auction it and buy a finished car with the money. That will sit there for another 20 years else. 😢

The e30 totally rotten underneath, so pointless starting, and the prelude was sold due to engine bottom end knocking, but is now on the road, cheers bud

@@ImStokze They are a Toyota Prius Hybrid. 3 of them on the drive is a lot of money just sitting there. Guy must have a lot of money to spare for cars on the drive and the Toyota Prius parked on the road along with any other cars parked on the road.

Imstokze I sill have my Renault 5 gt turbo raider 1 of 1000 made do you remember them back in 1990/1991 incredibly rare now days to see off the road let alone on the road I believe there is now less than 200 left tops in the United Kingdom then they when on to the Williams Clio 1 👍👌🫡
