I'm looking forward to seeing that 440 build. I drove a 1969 440 RT in 1970 and the memory is still fresh in my mind all these years later.
I don't think anyone will be too concerned if you spend more time on the Charger than the Cordoba:-)
Thumbs up even before watching the whole thing... it's a 69 charger

And yeah, that 440 is a fine choice

Absolutely correct.
I bought a 1970 Charger with a 383 fourspeed and that engine came out and in went a 1974 440 built to a 500 stroker. The car is an animal now, dangerous to drive and down right wicked! Love it!

Man the Córdoba with that rear end will wake up that beast I can’t wait !! So much going on with your channel I love it . Keep up the fantastic work Dylan 👍.
This is my favorite car channel and it also has the most badass intro. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see future vids.

Thank you!
Awesome! Can't wait to see more on this project!
I don't know if it's feasible or worth the time to do a complete engine tear-down, cleanup, and re-build but I feel like it might make for really interesting content, not to mention crank some extra horsepower out of the engine. Just food for thought. Really enjoying the content so far, keep it up!
Great video, enjoying watching your builds moving along.
This is great! keep the charger content coming!
y have an awsome channel dylan, any thing yer tinkering on or stuff y bring home is really cool 👍 keep up the great work
Ok I finally got it to play. I'm enjoying this channel too. I know it's not just the cars but I can tell you appreciate them.
Don't get rid of the A/C. I'm 50 now and when I was your age I pulled the A/C off of stuff for the same reasons. Later on I wish I hadn't. It's a great option and pretty rare on a Charger. I bought a '69 Super Bee in about the same condition in 2015 with A/C. I charged the system and it blows ice cold which is really cool in a rusty old Dodge.
Good idea to keep the duster, you would regret it if you sold it.
Hi! I'm new to this channel and I wonder, how I didn't get here earlier! AWESOME CONTENT
I'm liking the 440 plan! Looking forward to watching that build!
Just stumbled across your channel and subbed! Looking forward to the charger build!! 👍👍
u can see the 2nd carb has stuck open float. 2:52, and is flooding the motor.. had that issue with my GTO, good luck nice ride!!

Yeah I noticed that watching it back. It's a reman, but I may need to take it apart and check it out.
Good luck, can't wait to see it all together
I had a '68 Charger years ago cant mistake the sound of it turning over. I kept the original 383 in it that was enough power for me got my first speeding ticket in that car when i was 26 hah. Yeah I remember roadkill did the same thing took a 440 that came out of a motor home and put it in their 68 charger so you know yours will be fine. Thanks for sharing.
Dylan I work with your dad at Toyota and I knew he had a love for cars didn’t know you had a KZread channel just popped up in my feed I’ll you just got a new subscriber
Love these videos I watch them all the time
Chargers are so cool! look forward to watching you build the 440 for the charger!
Just found your channel, love it, I’m getting ready to start a 69 charger budget build myself. Now I have hours of videos to watch, thanks
Thanks for the new upload! I’ve been spreading the word about your channel 👍

hi bro, keep it up Greetings from Argentina. I do not write in English but I understand what you say. good job
Hey Dylan Mccool it's Derek Bonham from Hutchinson, Kansas & I'm making a comment on the part of this video where you talked about the 440 that came out a motorhome. Roadkill's 1968 Dodge Charger a.k.a General Mayhem received a 440 from a ludicrous 1977 Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome in Roadkill ep 23 & the General Mayhem had the 440 from episode 23 of Roadkill until before episode 40 of Roadkill & as of August of 2015 the General Mayhem was repowered with a 707 horsepower Hellcat Hemi & even today in 2020 you can still see the General Mayhem with that 707 horsepower Hellcat engine.
I had a car the same condition of the cardoba and what we did is took some 3m gravel gaurd and covered the vinyl area as it has the same texture as vinyl and is tintable to any colour you need, not to mention a cheap fix about 35$
Can't wait to see the 440 swap! Will you install a 4 speed manual?
I like the idea of building up what you got in that Córdoba... so sleeeeepy
That's going to be a beautiful powertrain when finished.
As much as I love the 440 swap, I would prefer to see a better 440 get put in that Charger, that low compression 440 will work fine, but the Charger deserves a little hotter engine in my opinion. Either way it'll still be badass man, I wish you the best
Sus videos son una inspiración para nosotros; estoy aca hasta el final del proyecto #Muchasorte #Dyllancool
Looking forward to the engine swap. Good work.
I like how you use an rv engine just like the general mayhem from roadkill 👌
You got the 440 the same way the guys at roadkill did to get their 440 for a 68 charger that's awesome. Don't own a old mopar yet but definitely have to get an old dodge rv to yank the 440 out of it
Dude that intro! SUBBED
Old motorhomes do seem to be cheap sources for big blocks of each make. We have two derelict motorhomes on our property, one belongs to my Gramps and the other to my uncle, Gramps' has a 440 and my uncle's has a chevy 454. Since my brother and I wanna build a 440 Charger in the future I asked Gramps about it, luckily he said that whenever they dismantle it we're free to take the powertrain (to be fair, we are helping reduce the work they'll have to do to fully tear it apart). May have to ask our uncle about the block in his motorhome as well, our nephew wants to build a big block Chevelle in the near future.........
nice video ...as always :) keep going like that...like it very much ;)
You just got new subscriber! :)
I hope you keep the original AC in the Charger, would be nice to have all the stock options working
That Charger sounds so very distinctly Christine-like with that leaky exhaust :P That's all envy though. Procuring no more than just a very rusty (far worse than yours) shell here (EU) would set you back at least 15k. So I'm happy you're keeping the Duster around. A-body's coupe's are about the last obtainable good looking classic Mopars which haven't been completely priced out of the market jet.
With the distributor on the front it was a give away it was a 440.. I believe 383’s were the same. 360/318’s are east to tell. The motor home engines definitely have different cam, and maybe even the heads are different. Compression ratio could be lower too.. the coolant plumbing is also different routing for the motor home engines. Good stuff though she’s gonna be a sweet ride

350,361,383,400,413,426 Wedge,426 Hemi,440 all have distributor in the front.. 273,318,340,360 have distributor in the back !

The way to tell a B block from an RB (raised B deck) is to look to the driver's side of the distributor. RB's have a square block, the B have just two raised lines. The motor home engines typically run Six Pack connecting rods, which are heavy and not really needed. Compression is like 8.8:1, and OEM heads flow like small block ports, which isn't good. It was the Max Wedge Stage I etc heads that flowed well, the OEM heads made torque with those small ports.

Roadkill put a Chrysler 440 out of a motor home into the (original version) General Mayhem 69 Charger. Not saying anything for or against it, just an interesting parallel. Good source for big block Mopars I guess.
440 out of a motor home? Roadkill vibes, nice!!
Glad your keeping the duster.
crazy how thick that cast crank dampner is. I'm sure you know but make sure your faceplate is weighted during the swap
THE SWORD! Instant like!
Anybody notice the gasoline flowing out of the carb and dribbling down, no pouring down the front of the carb? Lucky it didn't go POOF!

As soon as you said Poof i couldn't stop singing in my Head "Puff the Magic Dragon LOL
I think I'd spend the $ on the 383, unless you think it's hurt.. It already has better compression than the RV 440 ( 7.8 to 8.2 vs at least 9.2 to 1 in the 383) better heads, steel crank, forged rods.. all factory stock. I cannot recall if the B 727 bellhousing will bolt to an RB block... If so, why not use the trans you already have in the Charger? As for the RV trans, all you have to do is change the extension housing and output shaft from your Charger's to use the slipper yoke. Keep the vids coming! :)

The 383 is not original, plus I have no idea what the transmission in the Charger is like. So I figured why not have one built and then throw it all together at once.
You should get a picture of all your vehicles lined up for Instagram. Dart, duster, 74 d100, charger, Newport and cordoba, that'd be sweet!
440 sweet , this is a fun one to watch 👍
The little I know about Mopar big block V8s is that the original cylinder heads where 906s (last three digits) and when they went to unleaded petrol in the early 70s the casting number changed to 456. Therefore if you have 906s you have to have the valve seats treated to run unleaded or change them for 456s. Am I right?

hell yeah brother 440 👍
I still watching your videos.
440, 440+6 pack rods, MP 296 mechanical cam, 10:1 comp, headers, etc...
É uma pena não ter muitos desses no Brasil, os que tem são muito caro. Esse carro é um sonho 👏
I like the duster you have is it a slant 6 car?
You have to basically rebuild the 72 up 440's as they have low compression and down on power..Motor home 440's were slugs..But the good thing its a 440 and all 440's are great and 72-78's can be great .. I have a built mid 70's 440 in my 68 Charger RT ,stock they are dogs and a 383 2bbl is quicker, but mine is 598 hp and over 700 ft lbs torque(with current camshaft it did do over 640 ).. I have the mild stock rebuilt 450 hp 500 ft lbs torque 440 Magnum sitting in my shop and a engine stand just to look at ! I didnt want to make a 505 out of the stock 440.. I am doing a 512 for my 69,since its been 20 something years with my semi mild built 440 (505).
Everything sounds great but I would keep the air just for the wow factor
Good idea for the 8 3/4. Problem with a Spool for the street is when you corner they Clunk. The tires want to turn the same and that's not happening. if you can put up with the noise and set the rear up correct, well it will work.

show us how to build the engine
Isky makes a killer cam for the 440
Can't wait to see what that charger looks like with some new shoes
When are you doing some more on the warlock?
Fix the charger first 🍺
whats the engine in that? oh you have a 383, my charger has a 383 and i was thinking of putting a 440 in it but its already been worked on and the guy i bought it from said it should be pushing 450Hp at the crank easy.
very cool McCool
Good idea keeping the Duster!

Keep working end good luck Dylan
You should check out Nick's garage he has a youtube channel he tests all kinds of mopar engines on the dyno he knows alot about mopar's
Usually cams in RV engines are pretty good cams. Same with the heads. Not all but some were really good engines.
we get it, the Cordoba is cool, But we gotta see that Charger!!!
Dylan hire as your mechanic,we together could build some awesome Mopars. Possibly create a great reality TV show. My character plus many years of knowledge in the auto mechanic world would put us both in a great place in life.
Dylan McCoolit would be cool if you did a video of you jumping in and out of the winded of the 69 Charger
For four years I had dogged my Master Sergeant to sell me his 69 Charger with a 318 in it. Dude never relented. Love your videos bud, keep livin the dream for us little guys man.

I had my Mom talked into a gorgeous metallic turquoise, white vinyl top, white interior '68 Charger 318 2 bbl. TorqueFlite automatic... drove it home for them to see... but Dad wouldn't go along with it... Good thing I didn't order the Hemi fender emblems yet... LOL !!! ... Still want a '68...
Can't wait for the build to be complete! are you going to leave the engine stock or are you going to add some forced induction in the future?
@DylanMcCoolVideo

That I'm unsure of.
Is the cam flat?
I would like to see the Cordoba with the ac on a 440 with 308 or so gears sure grip not a spool and use that to cover some miles.
Did he buy the 75 Dodge W100 4X4 on BAT this week?
Miss that charger she's been tucked away for a while, just curious anyone else finds yourself Binge-Watching Dylan's charger Vids?
I have a question, how can I get more power out of a 318 engine with few modifications and with little money? I do not have a lot of money because I'm from Venezuela.
+Dylan McCool do you want that three wheel bike?
im wondering how much mpg or kilometers per liter this 383 and 440 make i know it's not an economical car i just want to know
dylan i am looking at an 88 d150 it says its a 4 speed with a v6 did they put v6s in them in 88 or was it still the slant 6 and if so are they decent motors
