THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT ROADS EVEN HERE ABROAD IS MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE HOUSES, SHOPS CLOSE TO THE ROAD SHOULD CEMENT THEIR FRONTAGES UP TO THE GUTTERS.,BY SO DOING, THE SAND WILL NOT BLOCK THE DRAINS.. IF THIS IS NOT DONE RIGHT AWAY ALL THE GUTTERS WILL BLOCK VERY SOON.. THEIR SHOULD BE NO SANDS SURFACE NEAR THE ROAD. God Bless Gov. Otti

People walk on drainage covers without knowing it's the drainage underneath , cos they weren't there to be aware of the construction design , people live in high rise buildings without knowing that it's on a rail line cos they met the house there and not the construction , let's check our laws to know where the responsibility of the landlord starts and ends may be , outside in public areas mostly management of houses are by agencies and they play the game according to the rules , attachment , illegal structures and landlordship are not common
Well done dear Governor Alex Otti Please maintainance of roads yearly including repainting of road markings on all the roads is recommended. Traffic lights are also recommended and speed-limit signs are also recommended Sir. Also the people should learn to cross the road at zebra crossing and keep the streets clean. Let people be punished for not obeying traffic laws. Welldone Kepu kepu.

Nice job. My criticism remains- why are residents not playing any role in all of this? Julius Berger is busy cleaning, sweeping washing, but outside the covered drainage, dirt and grime reign supreme and business owners do not lift a finger to tidy up anything. New Aba can only work if residents of this city take ownership and do their own bit.
There's no sane city where scrap yards are allowed to situate in the main metropolis. The government should look into relocating these guys out of the city centre. Thanks

Thank you very much our able governor chief Dr Alex Chioma Otti, God bless you sir...please let those frontage of the whole house be cemented to avoid sands entering back inside the gutter.
Pls, let the shop owners, landlords and caretakers try to pave after drainages to further beautify the environment
All manholes or adjourning gutters should be made with nets or some kind of iron nets inorder not to allow refuse or pure water sachets while raining into the drainages please. God bless governor. Alex Otti in all his doing.

Amen and amen my sister. One of our major problem is squarely on lack of purposeful and people's centered leadership. Our so called leaders both federal and States are so wicked. Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Nigerians deserve nothing but the best because we have all it takes to be among the top 20 if not 10 of the world.
Expect ABA people to block that walkway with their ware and materials and force pedestrians to walk along the main road in just a few months from now.
Gov Otti should tell Julius Berger to widen the pedestrian sidewalks. Why the narrow sidewalks. There is space to widen the sidewalks. JB contractors please don't cut Aba people short
Beyond that drainage every shop owner should tile or cement their floors in front of their shops or office so that water won’t be gathering there cos I still see such along . This can cause damages and barrow pushers don’t make use of the drainage system in conveying your goods make use of the road instead . Kepukepu (Tochukwu) kudos to you and more feathers in your cap . Do remind the authorities that planting of threes helps in beautification of the city it’s done here (abroad) even in high ways with full light . Dr. Alex Otti you will do better and stay blessed ❤
That job isn't yet well done, Julius Berger should know much better. At least two meters from the gutters must be perfectly paved for pedestrians, people don't walk on gutters in other nations. Paved pedestrian ways help eliminate dirty and mud from invading roads after construction. God bless the governor for honoring his people by giving them the very best. Well done Kepukepu, for taking your job seriously.

The mayor should direct business owners and residents along this road to start renovating their properties to raise the profile of this road. Or are they just going to ignore the dilapidated, derelict structures along the road?
The people have been reduced to the level they now see people who should naturally be their servants as lords. I think this governor understands leadership.
There shoukd also be two or three pedestrian bridges across the lengrh of the road. It is standard city design for any road of this magnitude and length. God bless Ndi Igbo.
The thing is that in the next election, you will still find people along this road voting for APC and PDP

Nice one. However, where is traffic light? Where is Bus stops? There is a problem here. The small parts outside the pedestrian is very dirty with water lodges! A second drainage that will channel the zinc waters from the shops to the drainages is needed or the local council ( local government) should put marble/ tiles / interlocking stones on the sand areas behide the pedestrian-drainage walkways and channel the rain waters to the drainage. Those carring wheelbarrows should not walk on the pedestrian with loads!!!. Put traffic lights all round and build a pedestrian flyovers at the major junctions. Good luck Abians 👍

Kepukepu please how can abia people do to de list formal governors of abia like kalu ,orji, ikpeazu , so that history will never remember them as anything in history?
While the government are doing their part, the local authorities must try and enforce city ordinances such as landlords cleaning their properties and assisting with cement or interlocking stones on their own front yards. There is no reason why this must not happen. Compare this to the years of flooded streets. At least it won’t break their bank as their property has greatly appreciated following the rehabilitation and construction of the road
10 seconds into the video and everyone is using the pavement??? Even wheelbarrow man? I must be dreaming 😂😴
They should plant flowers, trees to help with dusts

Them never finish its just to cement that side even landlords can or just do road they can push those market women selling there now when they do the main roads that side is little to do down thanks.
The solid median is a waste of cement and time. Why not a dwarf open middle adorned with trees, flowers or lawns? This is not by any means diminishing the excellent job being done on this project. But when you look at the median, it almost doesn't feel right that this is another lost opportunity to give Aba a modern look.
Bro Has Aba got a masterplan or not? If it has, why are shanties allowed everywhere or are these structures part of the master plan? It will be surprising if the colonial authorities built that Aba Town Hall without a master plan for Aba. Is Ohanku Road supposed to be flanked on both sides by shanties as it is now? If not, ABSG should start now to alert the residents of this city of the need to restore Aba's masterplan as part of its positioning. * Imagine the crass corporate irresponsibility of that bank blocking the pathway with its own no parking display without even making any effort at beautifying their own frontage.
The road Mark is needed to reduce accidents then again those sides of trading should also be build cuz if rainfall people will pay the prize.
Biko make dem no forget the road dividers place by the side of the roads after construction.. like the left overs at okigwe Road by faulks
