I really appreciate how he played through such a wide range of styles. Great to hear a pro adjust their time feel, textural choices and vocabulary to fit the context-and several times all in one performance. I think it really helps to highlight the importance of playing in service of the song while making room to hear the uniqueness of his voice as a player. Good player but those drums sound like hell. All upper register, no range, no low end at all even in the floor tom. I'd love to hear him on a set with some beef.

think the same- sounds too flat and phony… i dont know why, but Aaton on DW sounds more meaty.. DW has killer punch and low tone.. Sonor - not bad, but half sound..

Not low volume, its a K special dry efx cymbal. There are more, much smaller holes in the L80’s.

Camilo Moya Official KZread Channel I like him, but I’m have Stanley Randolph as my top right now. He does pretty much everything and is very skilled when playing. His drum corps background seems to help his fills and ghosts because he has an incredible left hand as well as his right and he plays with a lot of rudiments on the kit. It’s just awesome imo, but they’re both two of the top active drummers currently.

Rory Smith they’re 2 way different lanes. Go to Aaron for the chops and Stanley for that ridiculous pocket.. Had to edit immediately because I realized I’ve stolen my share fare of chops from Stanley 😂

j yeahhhh, I do feel that with ya. Stanley definitely likes to play more to the song and other instruments and Aaron will stay on time, but bust some nasty ass crap all over that kit. The one thing that for me, so my opinion, holds Stanley a little above Aaron is that he plays with more technical skill and natural dynamics that you just can’t EQ all the way out did you don’t have it. For some things, Aaron does, but for everything, Stanley does and yes; they both will fill their performances up with a lot of chops, but it’s Stanley out there mainly doing paradiddles and other diddle grooves. So, they’re both great. WAYYYY Better than myself lol. Just wanted to explain my position and not try and like throw shade at Aaron. I did comment separately saying just “Nasty”. (In a good way) okay 🖐🏼✌🏻
