even though i discovered this song only after my beloved dad passed, the moment i heard it -- well, it killed me. and it still kills me. songs have a way of bringing one back to the exact moments of our lives with the feelings back then still perfectly intact. for me, this is one of most perfect songs about long term grief, knowing you are powerless to alter the course, and thus have no ability to change the outcome. the kind of grief in which you deep down sense the truth, ignore it, and work to keep hope alive: the kind where family asks you "do you think he will come come?" i am brought to tears each time i hear this song. i still listen to it because it brings back the days and months i spent with dad in hospital. all the words to this song are perfect but this captures it all: "don't you know know, i have seen the ending. still i cannot look away." and i never did, dad. man. sorry to be a downer. transcendent song. hits everyone differently.

Yes, came here via TCM. Song style and sound reminds of The Beatles of mid to late '60s. After a few million songs in mankind's history it is hard not to emulate (NOT necessarily to plagiarize) someone else's music style, even if by accident. Bottom line, I definitely like this one by AL Tasjan. Thank you NWR for bringing it here.

If the rest of his next October "Silver Tears" album has the same level of this song.. well we are talking bout Best Americana/ POP songwriting of the year. This track is soooo Lennonesque. Song is on repeat for me right now. I see in some comments I'm not the only one who got a George Harrison vibe from the vocals. I'd add Beatles in general musically, from the drumming to the harmonies to the piano and background embellishes in the chorus. I'm also hearing some Tom Petty in the verse harmonies, and the happily unexpected 3-note piano step-up that occurs twice in the chorus evokes Live and Let Die by Wings for me.

Verse 1 Watch the day unfold in little movies With silver tears that sparkle from my eyes I catch myself and turn to toughen up But it hurts too much to try Watching my reflection in the window In the afternoon gold beaming sun One more scene fades out in black and white Still another has begun [Chorus] But you don’t know I have seen the ending Still I can not look away Don’t you know all of this pretending Is just a little movie that we play Verse 2 You could play a tune for all your troubles And I will help remind you of the words Angels born in hell will sing our praises Like this broken song deserves [Chorus] Sunday sun please take me down I want to hear that lonesome sound

Verse 1 Watch the day unfold in little movies With silver tears that sparkle from my eyes I catch myself and turn to toughen up But it hurts too much to try Watching my reflection in the window In the afternoon gold beaming sun One more scene fades out in black and white Still another has begun [Chorus] But you don’t know I have seen the ending Still I can not look away Don’t you know all of this pretending Is just a little movie that we play Verse 2 You could play a tune for all your troubles And I will help remind you of the words Angels born in hell will sing our praises Like this broken song deserves [Chorus] Sunday sun please take me down I want to hear that lonesome sound

is R Stevie Moore an ALT fan? RSM the king of Lo Fi. ALT sounding very polished on this track. Both have Nashville in common these days.
I love you.
As my good friend mark said, if that is what takes it takes dose all of Nashville with LSD...

This dude is unique. Sheryl Crowe heard this song while in a Starbucks...shazamed it, and told her agent to find this guy. He has been opening for her. Should be the opposite.
