Don’t think it’s for the badge. The A45 is a great car. Very quick and that amount of performance from a 2.0 engine is brilliant.

Both gorgeous cars and for different tastes. Its no competition for me but the original M2 i own with a tune DP and IC.

Full credit to you Steff, alot of u tube folk would have gone for their own car. Maybe one day I will get my hands on the M2 .

I own both cars, m2 competition is a blast. How I would describe them, A45 is Tracy Chapman and M2 is Tina Turner. 😎

Why Me , my wife drives the a45 , I bought the m2 comp for my 19 yr son. I drive an 2019 X5 and also own an m4 modified with +- 400 horses. Those are just some of the vehicles I own excluding the 75 Actros trucks.

E S Q7 way better family car. If you bought a 19 year old an M2C your an idiot. I sold my M240i and X5 as I have given up on BMW. So much happier with Audi Q7 and the TT. Each to his own.

I had an A45 Brabus with 400hp en decat. Loud and very fast! Also a lot of pops and bangs and very grippy. I trade it for an M2 LCI. The M2 is more dangerous and slippery, but so much more fun. I have a very loud Akra decat exhaust system. Even the A45 sounded good, the M2 sounds so much better and very very very loud! The A45 is more a daily ride even it’s hard. The M2 is more racy and the shifts are also a lot faster! Sometimes I miss the A45, like when it’s rains, but every time I start the engine, i totally forget the A45. I drove but on Nurburgring. The A45 had some oversteer. Especially in the corners when you riding down the “hils”. The M2 had a lot better handling and steering in the corners. I like the M2 more because: - the sound is better and louder - the steering is beter en faster - the shifts are much faster - the grip is better in the corners

The two cars I want to buy, leaning towards the M2 but love the look of the amg... Love The video ❤

M2 from ur view sounds shit like it’s struggling, personal preference a45 In looks and interior is way better no disputes, for me in Bristol a45 would be perfect 👌🏽

Love them both. Interior better on the M2C. More premium. Both look great but can’t bear the QV’s steering and performance out the box

M2C for sure. Different cars 100% but the M2C is one of the best M cars in the last 10+ years with a great motor, chassis, and handling. If you need the AWD for weather, I get it, otherwise M2C

Only just come across the channel nice review, great minds think alike I had the 14 plate A45 exact same colour etc as yours minus leather seats I ran the Renntech remap to 414 was great, time ticked by I swapped a bit just handed back my 1 year old X3MC and I lasted 3 weeks without a car, I’ve just today pulled the trigger on the M2C pick up next week. Brilliant video Stef mate. Yep. Tough choices there. But I'm buying used, so even though I own a BMW I'm intrigued by the A45 as a car. They are supposed to be very reliable as long as the service history is good. It's that or a used M140i for me mate. 😁

How is this even a comparison??? The BMW M2C is a rock star. It’s in another league on so many levels . Compare the MB AMG to the Golf GTI as it’s a better class comparison.

I had all bmws for the last couple years. Then I got an A45 in December and tbh since then I've been looking for 2nd hand M4 with the specs I want cos I find the A45 extremely boring. It's fast in a straight line. Launch control is super fun as well with that rally like noise. And running thru mountains at stupid fast speeds with that AWD control. However that being said I keep switching cars with my friends with bmws cos besides the above mentioned things its not fun to me as someone who enjoys sideways activities. Which I know 😂 I should've realised that when I decided to buy a AWD car 😁 but alas. Great video mate. After a couple test drives of the old M2 and the M2C I'm leaning towards the M2C now if I can get one for a nice price 😊

I'm biased I prefer the A45

Great coverage on the M2C Stef 👍hope you get more press cars given to you in the future! The car you had featured the optional bigger brakes and I heard that its heavier than the standard 'smaller' ones. If I’m being honest I didn’t really notice too much weight difference through the steering as a result of the bigger brakes mate. Prob really only noticeable on track. Thanks for watching the videos man 🙌

what the actual fuck ??????? they are not in the different categories. The A45 and M2 are designed to be direct competitors in the same class, price bracket, performance and everything. THIS is the same category. NOT different. You have no idea

the A45 originally is based on a FWD platform with transversely mounted engines. to me the A45 looks like a small van like the bmw 2er active tourer. you can't compare the M2 with the A45. the M2 has a lovely straight six out of the M4 and the whole undercarriage is based on the M4. i would always go for the M2, the A45 is to me like a VW Golf with a mercedes badge

Yep, i have a number of videos on the M2. The car I had was a DCT but my friend Joe Achilles has a manual and I did a manual vs DCT comparison. That’s a separate vid on the channel

M2 🤩 for sure

Not a massive game changer but not keen on the m2 exhaust. You can see the huge back box sticking out underneath.

I‘ll go with the a45 ... im living in an area with strong winters so the 4matic speaks for itself ... also i often drive wirh more than 2 people so the 5 doors for me pls

Tough one. Standard m2 is great but M2C is much better. Interior seats on m2 let it down for me. A45 interior is nicer. In summary A45 over m2 for me but M2C over a45

Manual transmission only for me, so no contest.

m2 comp is roughly 10k more at base price. not a fair comparison. go rs3 vs m2 comp for fair pricing. as far as driving fun, M2 comp. And also the fake cabin sound of the M2 does it some favours inside but outside the A45 sounds better. but the a45 is not in the same league I'm afraid , the m2 is a big step ahead but I doubt it will be better than the new a45 when they eventually release it

A45 sounds like a civic with a fart can. 4 cyl engines always sound worse than 6 cyl. Anyone non-bias will tell you this

@@davissilvestrs1996 nonsense, this is about exhaust note , not pure engine sound. big difference if you're open minded enough to not have fixed ideas that x cylinders sound better than Y cylinders . engine sound and exhaust note are two very distinct things because they are created at different parts of the car

Andy P With the factory M performance exhaust you can make the engine sound good. While the A45 will always have that puny 4 cyl sound no matter the exhaust.

Poor comparison, the A45 hasn’t changed much since 2016 whilst the M2C is a brand new flagship. I can’t wait until the new A45 arrives and shut beamers mouths for good. I own a (now tuned) facelift A45 since 2017 and couldn’t have been happier.

Latvietis96 it’s been 9 months since my comment, I just wanted to say that I love both car brands but it pissed me off when everyone was mocking the new A45 S when it launched, especially when Chris Harris said so much butthurted bullshit about it, so here’s some actual data on the car comparing it to the M2C. The A45 S does 100-200 in 9.7 seconds, thats a second faster than the M2C... gearbox? Merc’s 8 speed DCT is way better than M’s 7 speed, especially on downshifts, if you’ve driven the S55 before you’ll know what i’m talking about (btw the 2017 A45 downshifts faster than the F90 M5’s shitty ZF). Track times are almost equal as well. The M2 CS beats both cars obviously, but who pays that much money on a 2 series huh? It’s practically a AMG GTS worth of cash

Bmw is a proper caf

A45 is better because it is a Mercedes which means it has comfort, safety and technology. BMW is rear-drive and that is why it is very scary and hard to drive. Front-drive is safer.

How can these 2 compete?? Will ANYONE choose the AMG 45??? It makes this video a bit daft .... sorry

Stef ABtv You are missing the big picture -similar power does not make these cars equals. Since the arrival of turbos in day to day cars, any family hatch can be soupe’d up to 300-400 hp. M2 comp is i another league regarding engineering and quality...... but if you don’t get it, you don’t get it ....... fair enough ☺️

prbably the new A45 will destroy the M2. AWD with drift mode = best of both worlds. also better gearbox, sound, practicallity (there will be a CLA 45 some time, but no M1), interior and so on.
