  • @StefABtv
    @StefABtv21 сағат бұрын

    3 cyl isn’t the nicest sound in the world but it had zero noise so some noise better than no noise but down to personal option. Good thing with the miltek is if it’s too loud can always change the non res pipe for a res pipe to quieten the drone down if it’s bad but haven’t experienced much drone yet

    Hi Stef. I sold my 595 turismo (stage 1 and usual mods) 2 weeks ago for the GR Yaris in pure white. My first 3 mods were the string theory spacers, the milltek gpf back exhaust (I had the same agony as you but went resonated with carbon effect tips) and a yet to be installed eventuri cold air intake. The beauty of the milltek system is its adaptability and you can switch in and out a resonated section if you fancy a change. Initial impressions I still say the 595 has more character and is more fun more of the time. The GR is way more fun when you are hooning it and it’s just a much superior car. I still have so much love for the Abarth tho. Brilliant little cars. I am looking forward to following your ownership journey. I have a feeling you will end up costing me a lot of money lol. 👍

    @@patrickbateman7122 I can tell you how I justified it at the time, lol... I had it 18 months and done 5k in it and because of the low miles couldn't justify modding it. This meant after 6 months or so it lost its appeal when you weren't going fast. It is probably one of the single most boring cars I have driven when just bumbling around town or on motorways. Absolute monster when ripping back roads or scaring the shit out of people around roundabouts because of its insane handling and speed in corners though haha

    @@peterd5496 thanks for reply Peter. I had test drive when it came out but only for 20 mins and didn't get to stretch its legs. I was in a GT86 at the time and felt exactly like you mention when just driving round town..i didn't feel anything apart from the turbo thrust when flooring it on a dual carriage way. Got back in the 86 and that car felt lot more alive at pedestrian speeds. Currently in an i20N and that too feels pretty ordinary around town but then becomes quite the little terrier when pushing on. Thinking an M2 next as i want more of a challenge..

    @@patrickbateman7122 My son had an i20n with a few mods it was pretty fast and sounded good(I quite liked it as well), he just changed it for a 3.0 mk5 Supra. Much more of an occasion and once he sorts the exhaust it'll be lovely. The GR86 tempted me but too much money imo, another reason leaving the yaris was I thought to upgrade to the new one... not paying 45k sorry Toyota

    @sultanoftippoo3857Күн бұрын

    @@peterd5496 I think you hit the nail on the head re: driving the Yaris around town vs. B road blasting. If you live in a town/surrounded by A roads/Dual carriageways this car doesn’t come alive (but is still a competent way to get from A to B). If however you live where I do (rural Lincolnshire) where we have a lot of tight/twisty & bumpy B roads, there isn’t much that can live with this car in the dry and in the wet, I can’t think of anything that can match its mechanical grip. In short it is what it is, a homologated WRC car and as such its DNA shows its limitations but IMO, its benefits far outweigh those and for me, the car is a keeper.

    The GRY’s chassis and body were designed as a homologated WRC car. Styling of course subjective but as the saying goes “looks don’t win rallys” and I imagine a reasonable % of people who buy these are WRC followers (that’s certainly why I bought mine).
