I am not sure how does the IP law work in this case? The video that the russian guy recorded is a new object of intellectual property, all rights to that video belong to the dude. Code and the structure of the videos though, do belong to RyiSnow, it's sad that such absurd things are allowed to happen and hard to reason about their legality

I fully agree with everyone who wrote below from my country (Russia). I am also a developer and I fully understand the feeling when something of yours is simply stolen. And especially if this is a free video tutorial on KZread, which is posted to help people. Things like this that cast a shadow over our dev-community. Do your own thing and don't steal, or if you want to do a good deed - take the original video, translate it into our language (at least with subtitles) and indicate the author. This is the maximum that can be done. But do not completely copy the video and pass it off as your own.

If he truly just wants to make your videos easier for Russians to understand, he could just ask you and give you credit when making a Russian version, it sucks how people decide to steal credit instead. I hope this gets resolved!

Thats very unfortunate :( In my opinion, if you would give youtube a copyright request, they will most likely NOT delete your youtube channel, because you give them a clear reason for copyright striking him. Even if they wont delete his videos, you probalby wont get banned for "abusing" the copyright tool, because you have reasons to do that and you even prepared a good argumentation with your video (with evidence!). Please dont get discouraged by people like him. Your tutorials are awesome and i enjoy every minute of them and i think a lot of people share my opinion. Keep going with your content and your channel will grow even bigger :)

Your videos inspired me to start working om my own game, and I haven’t felt this passionate for anything in over ten years. I just want to thank you for that! And you seem like an awesome guy!

I also used to make games tutorials in java from scrach, like five years ago but in spanish and I remember a russian guy copied them, but I think they got removed by now. Even tho I use libgdx now, making them from scracht was amazing. Keep up your content, love it!

You're 100% in the right here. There is no doubt about the fact that he is stealing your content. I would do what the channel "Tech Ingredients" did in their video called "We Just Got Scammed!" and let your viewers report that channel, because I for one don't want to see your hard work get ruined by someone who pretends to know stuff. As a software engineer and a content creator myself, this is super disrespectful.

I agree as you said since it's rude to not even ask the creator for permission or even giving credit for it. We're be here to always support you mate since we love your vids.

What I'm appauled by is his lack of attempt to even diversify the code. Look at my content, my programming style has been heavily influenced by your standards, but our code is still distinct. Everyone has variable naming conventions, indention differences, code places, or method naming differences. He didn't even show his own understanding of your code which defeats the purpose of even copying it in the first place. Currently, I'm working on a 3d software rendered, and your tutorial series gave me much needed knowledge about Java's graphics framework to make the jump from 2D to 3D. I can't thank you enough. There are many of us out there that benefit from your videos without stealing your content and ideas. Keep pushing forward, and I hope this situation gets resolved peacefully.

OMG i just started watching/learning your videos, and you just uploaded a new one!!

I just recently get to your channel while start learning JAVA, I'm from Brazil and sadly i have seen things like this before, with anime content channels, some people who knows english just remade entire videos in portuguese and post as they creations without given credits to original creators. Good Luck e keep the good job. If this guy was really a fan of your work he should have asked to do subtitles in russian.

Hopefully you find a solution to this, thanks to your videos I learned and understood a lot of things before I would get them taught at college. I never caught up to the tutorials since I switched from Java to C#, but one day I'll re-watch them and finish the game. I wish you the best until then.

I hope he will stop stealing your content and will apologies for that. As a content creator I know how much efforts it takes to prepare a tutorial. Preparing the series of tutorials is way harder. Ideally he should tell his audience that it’s actually your content and original idea belongs to you.

Hey man! Sorry to hear about this. I don't know how the youtube report works, but you could try to reach out to some other content creator on youtube or even other platforms and how they resolved it or went about it. This is 100% stealing. Good that you speak up about it. Imagine if you took a game, say Pokemon and just changed a bit about the graphics and some other art. Everything else is the same. There is Pokemons, battles, gyms, leveling and so on. Even the storyline will be the same. I would say, in less then a week, you would have gotten a letter from Nintendo's lawyers. I am unsure what you should do tho, but what you cannot do, is to stop. I check in once in a while to see hows it going. And you are doing great! People clearly like the videos. So even if some dbag is copying you, that is by no means a reason to stop. Far bigger youtubers faced far bigger thefts, but they keept going. You can too =) Btw I saw some VERY familiar tutorial videos at 7:20 xD

That's sadly a common practice on KZread. There are a ton of channels that just copy others' work (going as far as keeping the mistakes and typos) and they often get more views than the original work. Given that we are on KZread, I doubt you can do much to that. Of course there are exceptions, like people who use a tutorial as a base for their own, use assets from it or plainly translating to other languages, but usually there is a huge disclaimer in the beginning asking to visit the original video and give it a like, and they often ask authors first about that.

The video will be the same, but i will add more explanations about elementary things. How may it be done with all copyright agreements? Do you offer some kind of licence to buy?

The problem is that he has given ads and is making money from it. Where, after all, he earns money by translating your videos, he even used your editor, I sent you a link in an email. He has nothing, because KZread blocks all payments to Russia (you can easily guess why, but I can't tell it because I'm from this country).

It's horrible! I very glad that is solved. But actually about naming in code I don't know how to name many things could be different and they could be very similiar) I do not justify my compatriot, what he had done is quite disgusting. Thank you so much for your work , it really halped me)

KZread deleted multiple videos for copyright violation. He received strikes then he deleted some videos by himself. But it was too late. KZreadr has terminated his channel.

It's so sad to see a guy just ripping off a project you spent hours on. I don't think the russian guy even knows what coding is, He just knows how to copy and paste of a youtube video he found online. The way he says that "I also spent hours on this project" and "This is my original content" is just insane to me. I support you ryisnow.

You should contact him and ask to remove or share income from it. If he ignores you you can ask youtube for copyright issues and get that video either removed or ask for some of the income from it

Your content here on KZread is one of the best of its kind and your current and future viewers in the non-Russian space will always prefer your videos and you will always remain the original. Let him have his few small viewers he will never be as good as you and your work. You are simply better and destined for greatness. You were there for many of us when we wanted to give up programming and kept us motivated with your super tutorials. Now we are here for you and try to support you with everything that is takes.

Unfortunately this is a common "practice" in Russia to just take English content and copycat it using Russian language. Some even sell that copycat content 10x the price of an English version which is mind boggling. Most of Russian people don't know English and copycat "creators" take advantage of that.
