Daaaaamn! So nice! Super enjoying to watch, great music, sped up coding to get a glimpse, I'm gonna check out the code on Git thank you so much for sharing it! I'm making a Tower Defense game right now in Swing and this should really help me get over some humps and speed up my learning. It's really amazing you could make basically any 2D game once the engine is complete. Thank you so much.

Can you share the dungeon generation algorithm to github?

I’m making a fairly similar game in Java. If you google how to procedurally generate or something like that you should get an article or two that will tell you everything you need to know. Free to check mine out. GitHub.com/dsanch1120/dungeoncrawler the name’s a work in progress, I’ll probably change it once I finish the project

OpenGL is mainly used for 3D but you can create 2D games with it too. Java Swing uses software rendering, which is all done on the CPU. (To my knowledge) Swing is only good for little games that aren't too resource intensive. OpenGL takes advantage of the graphics card hardware. Game programming is game programming, though. So no matter how your game is rendered, a lot of gameplay logic will always be the same. Creating games with the standard Java libraries is a really good way to learn without using engines that hold your hand through the whole process.
