Sunset dam near Lower Sabie is a very popular spot to see animals up close. This yellow billed stork was feeding almost on top of a crocodile and there are some monsters in Sunset dam. The video of the hippo was taken during one of the severe droughts that is part of the normal cycles of nature. Hundreds of hippos died and some moved away from the rivers mainly because every bit of vegetation had been stripped bare for kilometers along the riverbanks, forcing hippos to walk further and further every night to find food. This left them weak and dying so some took over the waterholes that were placed further away from rivers. Unfortunately it only prolonged their agony because these also became death traps for the animals.
