They’re pretty skittish around people, they just allow Arroz to hang because they’re used to him.

Gerty is too cute for words. Her ears & feet & hands are massive! She'll grow into them. So nice to see a kind, attentive mum with a healthy, happy baby. Thanks Arroz.

Welcome to monkey hill Gerty..Gaby is a fabulous momma..yes she did nurse Gingy until he was 18 months old but that was more to do with Gingy being a prize whinger... you can tell Gerty has had lots of time at the milk bar because she's so active and alert..that cute peek around mom to look at you Arroz and my god look at those ears..very dumboesque ..unlike poor Nora's baby who i don't think is going to make it..Gingy is sitting up there not the slightest bit interested with his sister. Unlike lil Dimpy who can't get enough..but Gaby just walked away when she'd had enough..she's a kind monkey... that weather reminded me of the British weather..4 seasons in one afternoon..Haha 🤣 .Thank you for lovely camera work. .its not easy with the new moms..they like to keep their babies close..i think this girl us not going to be as clingy as Gingy..she wants to investigate already..a wellcome addition to the troop..🇬🇧💞🐒🐵🙉🙈🙊🙏👏👏😺👍🙏

I noticed Gerty's big ears too, and her interest in Arroz. She's so adorable, what a little spitfire! The 2020 Our Gang baby season is off to a great start with Gerty, she's going to be so fun to watch this summer. You are so right about Dimpy too, and Gaby's kindness. I started writing more about them (particularly Dimpy) and it got very long and included some questions aimed at the general readership rather than you specifically so I posted it as a separate new comment. If you want to see what your comment inspired, my stand-alone comment starts with "I love Dimpy!" Since you mention you're in the UK, I'm one of your cousins across the pond in Texas, USA. She sticks her tongue out more than Aggy, hahaha! 😂 Maybe this is her way of lip smacking, and she hasn't quite learned the proper technique? Time will tell, but her curiosity is undeniable. 😂 One thing for sure, Arroz has great self control. With this much cuteness looking straight at me just a few feet away, the urge to go over to Gerty and play with her would be overpowering! (For the record to all Karens here: no, they are not pets, humans should not touch them, Gaby would not have allowed it, etc, etc, yadda, yadda, yadda) 😂 This little one is a fire cracker, she's going to be so fun to watch! She's my favorite 2020 baby so far 🤪 and she'll surely still be oh my favorites list by the end of baby season.

@Em I must 2nd what Julia said. Gingy was almost as big as his mum while still nursing. Especially since he's a boy, he should've been learning to forage to meet his needs. They age much quicker than humans (Arroz says 4:1yrs). Lastly, Grandee has been booting the boys out very young so he needs to be fully learned on how to provide for himself by 3 yrs old. That's when Dopey&2 others were ousted :(.

@Em my apologies, my comment was not meant as a judgement of Gaby. As I have posted in previous comments I have not the knowledge or ability nor would I want it to judge any animal behavior. I just know from Mr. Marisco's previous video shows how important Independence is especially for male monkeys. Gingy just seemed to me a little too clingy and dependent on Mom, of course I could be very wrong.

@Betsy S Does it occur to you that these are wild animals you have no connection to in reality? You are arguing about how long - in your opinion as a video viewer - a monkey is allowed to breastfeed. Does that sound super sane to you?

She’s a wiggly little girl and oh so cute...

Gerty is going to be so much fun over the years. You can tell she is going to be a hot mess. I wonder if Dolly is repeatedly sucking up to Grandee so that he won't kick out anymore of her sons.

Dolly will eventually lose all her sons to the bachelor troops. That's why she needs a daughter. Let's hope a few of those sons, and Dopey too, become alpha males someday.

What a beautiful adorable baby, so sad the busy bee is no longer with us. Gabby another mom who was then so obsessed to our Dopey just like mom Aggy, mom Gabby would not mind not getting goodies just to be with little baby Dopey then, How time flies.

Yes, I want Dolly to have a girl too, she deserves one for sure! I wonder if macaques are like humans in that the male determines the baby's gender. If Dolly does have a girl she won't have to worry about Grandee's help, she'll be in his little club! But another boy, well, hmmm, not such a sure thing. Dolly and Grandee look like a set of grandparents here, don't they? Like a couple that have been married 50 years.
