Grandee has created a dysfunctional troop. Poor Spocky.

This was a very interesting video and covered many situations. Grandi and his girls is do fascinating. I love that he includes Kaliegh and Fify started it and continues it. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as they become adults. But for now I am glad Kaliegh had gotten that break off acceptance. Then the boys and Spocky he looks so young and lost and still looks confused. So sad for him. It was nice to see the different dynamics of the troop and how there is an exception to every rule, lol, with Grandi and his girls. Even the girls with Lucy, interesting. Is Bossy losing her edge? She seems to be more laid back lately.

I think that Kailey and Rosy look a lot alike.

This is just my opinion but I feel Ridgy has made a great impact on her troop. From long ago video it seemed she was Grandee's partner for lack of a better word. He seemed to dote on her more than the others, she took such good care of their babies. She is the reason Gypsy's kids had someone to care for them in her daughters Rudy and Ruby, with the love of a Mother she passed on to them. Her little ones have accepted Kailey but have always been all around good kids. I know she isn't the matriarch but her devotion has spread to benefit the troop more than most. I appreciate her. ♡

I'm so pleased for Kailey..she is a sweetie and I'm glad she is part of Grandee's girls..Fify and Vivy have befriended her..i think it helped that she was looked after by Aunty Rudy who is Ridgys daughter..i feel so sorry for Spocky.... Baty...and our special boy Dopey..they're all too young to have been forced out of their natal troop..in that Grandee is unfair.. poor Spocky looked frightened to death..and where is big brother Baty? I am really worried about Dopey..we haven't seen him in weeks... i miss the Dopester !!💞💔🇬🇧🐒🙊🐵🙈😥🙏😷

The boy might have shown aggressive behaviour in the troop because of reaching sexual maturity. Boys like that their natal troop can't have so they either leave themselves or get pushed out. Often the boys leaves with a brother and for the boys leaving, a bigger part of them join the same bachelor troop as an older brother have done before them or join a group where they have relatives. The sequence where Spocky sits by the road with another monkey, I think that's his oldest brother or a relative. But it doesn't mean we can't worry about them😊 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

I caught something interesting in "Has Dopey Gone for Good" (video posted Apr 26, 2020) which I think is the last footage of Dopey before he left. In that video, Dopey actually drew blood playing with Sputty, after other aggressive displays. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and replayed it a few times in slow motion to understand what I saw, then I wrote a rather long, detailed comment including time stamps in the comments. I didn't see the video until a few days after it posted so most people never saw my note. LOL, they sure are begging even you alot today, Kaylee was worst. Cars taught them bad ways so it's best they stop. Grandee's eye's are beautiful. I'm extremely upset he keeps putting the young boys out so soon! I worry about them all being so young still.

I wonder if Kailie gained a little bump in rank from being with Rudy so much? I know Fify has favored her but wonder if that could be connected to the time spent with Rudy?

My girl Kailey has came so far look at her😍😍😍 but i feel like all of our Gypsys kiddos are AWESOME and so well behaved and independent❤❤

I mean Bossy is pretty old and tired she usually has a baby every year. I know people think Grandee is a bit weird only hanging around the the baby/juvenile girls but it may have been strategic on his part. Bossy has the ability to dethrone him and put one of her sons in his place but if he has his own female daughters upper class to protect him he may be able to dethrone Bossy and put someone else in her position 🤷🏽‍♀️ which when she dies I believe her youngest will take over but it seems like they may have a fight ahead of them thanks to Grandee and crew lol

Fify and Vivy are Ridgy's daughters. Rudy is also Ridgy's daughter. Rudy practically raised Kailey. Does Fify and Vivy see Kailey as their niece or cousin?

It's rare that a female macaque mates with anyone relative. The younger boys might try with a relative but they can only try they never be able to do so. Many studies have looked at this an the result is: Rhesus Macaque females don't matter with fathers and brothers port any other one close relative. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

Kinda makes Grandee look like a dirty old man. When Baty and Spocky were young, Grandee used to be found sitting with them. Bubby has surely changed.

Something you all have to remember.....these little girls are small and cute right now....and Grandee loves them. BUT....these little girls will be fertile females in a few years...and if Grandee is still Alpha, or even a minor alpha, he WILL mate with them. That's how it works. Boys get kicked out, but the girls will stay and mate with the alphas...even if the guys are their dads!! Chances are very good that Grandee would be the father of Fifi's kids. How's that grab ya???

You should do some research on this before posting. Father-daughter produced offspring is quite effectively avoided in rhesus macaque society through a variety of ways of recognizing who one is related to, despite the fact that females indeed stay in the natal troop. It happens sometimes, but it's not the norm, only the exception.

So, Grandee was kicked out. Just maybe, as the previous comment stated: these monkeys have a way to avoid in-breeding. That said, Grandee is truly missed. And Skull Head didn’t mate with his daughters, as it wasn’t ever noticed.

Arroz, can you explain why some of the bachelors stay in the proximity of their old troop, but others like Dopey have disappeared? Where do they go? How far away can they go? Do other groups attack them? Do they become leaders of their own troops, and how?

@ Shar; I’ve also wondered why the boys from the same natal troop didn’t all stay together in their new bachelor troop? It would make sense for them I believe.

I was wondering if it’s all possible to show the pictures and order of each groups hirearchy. Starting withe Bossy on down to the least. Just wanting to have an idea who’s who.

If you look on his playlist he does a rundown of Bossy troop and hierarchy the very first videos go back to 2016 to present and he doesn’t speak but explains with pop ups.

Why are they so noisy? Because the passing cars did not feed them? Sapolsky studied the baboons in Kenya for over 20 years and did not ever describe a female gaining heirachy. I say yay for Kailey! Do the feeders not feed all the troops?

How did Kaley do it?

It would be interesting to see what happens to lower members, like Kailey, once they are no longer babies. Will they remain favorites of Grandee, or drop back down to their lower rankings.

Grandee has no chance in hell to dethrone Bossy. The only one able to do so are her daughter's and they have to get together to do it. Not a small task. Bossy has many daughters. The young female has to learn how to defended the troop. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

I think Grandy did wrong sending the young boys out. Makes you wonder if he jealous because he knows he's getting old. Probably worried about getting kicked out of being the alpha male. I used to think you cared about his Troop no it's only the females. Is this normal for an alpha male

I wonder why Fify is so favored by grandee. For that matter, I wonder how males can sometimes know which babies are theirs. Does grandee and bossy have any children together? Do you think Kailey could raise in rank by being in grandee's circle?

Yes Kailey has already raised her ranking by being one of Grandee's girls..that is because Fify and Vivy have befriended her..yes Bubby is Bossys daughter with Grandee.. Fify and Vivy are Grandee's too..he sure loves girl babies even when they're tiny..but i wish he was more patient with the boys.. Dopey..Baty..and poor Spocky are too young to be cast out..

I think Fify is a protector. She protects Grandee first and in this video sheer sistered with Bubby who are three seconds highest ranking in the troop. Bubby wasn't given the respect she shoulder have by Lucy and Bubby didn't like it and neither did Fify. Fify also protect her girlfriends and the troop. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪
